We went into DC for a nice dinner. We past Posto and based on ambiance through the store front, decided to go in. The setting is nice, service friendly but we found the food to be average at best, portions on the smaller side and really not all that creative. There are so many choices in the area. I'd suggest you try somewhere else.

When my dinner guest and I arrived, our table wasn't ready so we was asked to wait at the bar. My reservation was at 7 and we were seated by 7:30. Not a big deal but worth noting. The hostess was fine. Didn't offer us anything for the extra wait but smiled and was friendly enough. The table we were seated at was right next to a server's station and a cement pole. This was problematic because the entire evening different servers would hit my chair while trying to squeeze past a tiny space to get to the server station. It disrupted the meal several times and made it less enjoyable. Also, our waiter never smiled. He always seemed to be in a hurry and made dinner feel a little rushed. But his suggestions, when asked, were good and I appreciated his input. The food was delicious, but somewhat over priced. The appetizer we chose was the bruschetta and it was $12 for two pieces of bread with prosciutto on top. Okay? I did not think it was worth the money. However, the ravioli was excellent and my friend also thoroughly enjoyed her seafood pasta as well. I would come back again but there is still a lot of room for improvement in the hospitality area.

Family in town and looking for a casual spot with great food and service. Posto was an easy choice and has been a favorite spot for years. Attentive service, a vibrant atmosphere, and wonderful food. Tried the steak for the first time - fantastic. The salmon was cooked to perfection. (The pasta is always good). Someone ordered the grilled lobster - smokey and very tasty (a smallish portion in the split-shell but really just the right amount). Highly recommend this place.

The food (pasta and Branzini) was good, the service prompt and efficient, and the ambiance was nice. Great location (2 doors away) for the Studio Theatre.

Posto has a great price-fixe pre-theater menu. The grilled calmari appetizer is outstanding, as it the branzino entre.

We had to wait 20 minutes for a table even thought we had opentable reservation and were waiting/drinking at the bar for 40 minutes after arriving early. The food was tasteless, I am not sure how Italian food can taste so bland. We read good reviews about the ravioli and tagliatelle but not impressed. Calamari was decent, cooked very differently than the usual crispy fried. Overall, I would not go again.

Pleasant experience even on a busy Friday night. Excellent charcuterie plate, good cheeses, very tasty pasta entrees. Service good too. A little noisy but the food overcame it.

The pre-theater dinner is a good value but inexplicably must be ordered by 6. Also, don't count on happy hour prices unless you have the bartender show you the special happy hour wine and drink menu.
