I’m a DC native and this is my absolute favorite restaurant in DC. Incredibly executed and such a fun neighborhood spot. Best seafood in DC.

We had not been back to DC in years and were delighted that Black Salt still serves innovative specials and wonderful classic takes on fish and seafood. Great service!

Black Salt never disappoints! The soft shells were superb, and the Pinot Gris was the right wine to go along with it. The specialty cocktail was terrific, as was the sorbet for dessert.

The food was fair. But for these prices it should be great. The soft shell crabs (I think $62) were tasteless. The lobster pierogy )$35) were hard. I would not return. Only the clam chowder was great. Even the ice cream wasn’t very good.

We hadn’t been to Black Salt in a year or two and were shocked at how it has gone downhill. The food was hugely expensive, not especially good—and they charged $13 for using a credit card. First time we’ve ever seen that done. We won’t go back, sadly.

Food, service and ambience were all excellent. Prices typical of similar quality DC restaurants. The 4-top we sat at was quite large, making conversation across the table a little challenging.
