   I've eaten at Barrio a few times and my experience on 5/5/2025 was abysmal. Im not one to typically complain about a restaurant experience especially on a busy day but our service was so lackluster it was insane. First off we arrived for happy hour at 5:15pm and ordered cocktails well before the 6pm cutoff. We were charged full price even though the Happy Hour costs should have been half off. If the happy hour was not valid due to the holiday that is completely fine but should have been conveyed to us at the time of order not when we flag down the waitress after she drops the check(happy hour was still on the menus that were handed to us as well). At multiple times while we were eating the busser attempted to take food that was still being worked on away from the table. Prior to this experience I would recommend Barrio to any of my friends but that will no longer be the case.

   We booked our reservation so we could attend the Cinco Bingo brunch. We had so much fun we are booking another brunch with bingo and bringing friends. The food and service is always fantastic, Barrio is one of my favorite Chicago restaurants.

   Loved our waitress , she was super attentive and friendly. The bingo was the highlight of the day. We enjoyed Ryan and he is do funny and brings the vibe !

   Our server Ana was really sweet. She was very attentive to my very picky child and she made our experience memorial . Birria tacos were amazing. Only hiccup was it says pork tacos on the menu and I chose the restaurant because Al pastor is my boyfriend’s favorite. However , Ana suggested adding pork belly to the fried rice and it definitely was a hit.

   Shoutout to barrio for helping us celebrate a 30th birthday day of after a last minute cancellation at another restaurant. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had an unforgettable experience. Mike (our server) & the manager on were awesome. Thanks again

   Loved the guac and appreciated being allowed to taste it before serving. My enchiladas were outstanding, but my friend’s fish tacos were too spicy. Margaritas we’re just alright; they seemed watered-down. Service was good, although some long pauses in-between.

   Very terrible service. We ordered appetizers and drinks and the waiter took the longest time before he came back to take the rest of our order. The margarita was nothing to brag about both had little alcohol in them.

    The blueberry cornbread muffin changed from when i was last there. It used to come in a bigger black pan, that version was definitely better to me. Also the chicken and churros didn’t have the eye appeal this time. Didn’t have the nice butter placement and the pink flowers were missing. Michelada was pretty flat. Other than that everything else is great. One of my favorite brunch spots, just need to tune those few things up.
