Sadly, Hazel isn’t managing their OpenTable account well. We made a reservation for brunch, were excited to try this place, walked 1.5 miles in the cold to get there, only to find it completely closed for the day with zero notice. We improvised with another nearby restaurant (Haikan), but this shouldn’t have happened.

We have had some great dinners here pre-COVID. Unfortunately, brunch was a total disappointment. We ordered lamb sausage, and we were sever slices of fatty meat with bones attached (not ground sausage). The eggplant hash was mainly potatoes, which were soaked in oil and seemed to have been fried multiple times. The only bright spot was the kale tahini salad, which was lovely.

Nice ambience and good COVID precautions. The food and drinks were great, but portions were SO SMALL, even for small plates. We enjoyed the experience, but would not go back because of the poor value.

Forcing guests to put on masks every time the server approaches makes no sense. It also makes it impossible to have an enjoyable meal. Use science to make policies. This just is not logical.

Delicious food and attentive service on an amazing patio. But most importantly, their Covid precautions are the best we’ve seen anywhere. I’d feel comfortable taking my parents there.

We visit Hazel every 6 months. It is always the best experience. We are always so warmly greeted and the food is amazing. We sat on the outdoor patio for brunch and it was perfect.

Excellent food and service, and the outdoor space is a total win! The food seems a bit overly priced for very small portions and the covid menu is very limited, but overall this place is awesome!

Hazel is excellent, and they’ve taken significant efforts to reopen with physically distanced outdoor dining. The menu and staff are scaled back, and they seem still to be learning how to create a genuinely pleasurable experience while remaining duly cautious.
