                                                      The food was excellent. However, the service especially the bus service, was very poor. Folks were still eating, and the table was being cleared for some who already finished their mains. The server did not offer beverage service at the beginning of the meal. We ordered drinks as an afterthought. The Met still remains one of my favorite places to explore and dine. I am bring this to your attention to avoid the situation again as a real turnoff.

                                                      My wife and I made our reservation more than a month aga, requesting a "window table [Which overlooks Central Park]. When we arrived, we saw a open table by the window but was told by the maitre d that it has been promised to "more important people." After being seated nearby, we noticed that at the next window table, the party was about to leave. We asked if we could have that table. We were told that it was reserved for parties of four or six. Yet, no other party ever took that table. We left a little before 9:00 PM, when the restaurant closes. So, it was left unoccupied the entire time we were confined to our small table. We have been Members of the Met for years and, while never expecting great cuisine [It's only open on weekends], the atmosphere, particularly if you are able to snag a window table, is quite pleasant. But to be put down and then ignored the way we were, will make it impossible for us to ever dine there again.

                                                      The food was excellent as was the presentation creative and inviting. Chris, our server, is a sophisticated individual who understands food issues and customer priorities. We value Chris and will ask for him on our return.

                                                      Our only disappointment was an undercooked head of cauliflower, which had a lovely flavor, but was unhappily too crisp.

                                                      Waiter was very helpful in giving great suggestions and added details on the dishes we were mulling over so we could decide on our final order. Perfect balance of attention and space to enjoy the meal.

                                                      It is always lovely to lunch here. Professional, attentive service and creative food choices. Today was no exception and the soft shell crab was brilliant! It is an oasis of calm.
