All five in our party were thrilled with the dishes. Crispy Deviled Eggs were amazing. Prawns were fantastic in both East and West seasoning. Pumpkin cheesecake was a special seasonal treat. Service was also outstanding.

Adorable local spot with outdoor (and indoor) tables delivers casual, laid-back dining. Owner Alison added great value and went out of her way to ensure our experience was a good one. Small plate fish tacos were a big hit. Entrees were adequate portions and good for sharing. Flavors were unexpectedly sophisticated. I'd give it a shot if you're looking for an easy spot for everyday dining with friends and family.

This place is called Prawn Shop and while there are other seafood options, I think sticking to the prawns is the best bet. The meat in the rock crab I had was hard and tasteless; my cocktail was abysmal (a "Mexican Mule" that was ultimately mostly ginger beer over too much ice that melted quickly into a watered down mess). The oysters were good. The east-coast style prawn pot I got was amazing. Plump prawns, cooked to perfection with two hunks of bread which was hearty and soaked up the 'sauce' perfectly. The service was questionable; everyone was very nice, to be sure, but my oysters were forgotten at first (I did get the three most expensive ones comped as a result) and my drink had to be sent back (the second one, as described above, was still awful). It's a small place and it wasn't terribly crowded so the fact that I had TWO servers who couldn't keep it together was especially disappointing. I also got the impression that one just felt utterly over-worked; again, given the size of the space and the small amount of customers, this made me annoyed rather than sympathetic. Interestingly, tip is added in across the board ("to ensure employees can be paid a livable wage") -- an idea I completely embrace, in theory. Given the quality of service, though, I was not pleased with being forced to pay a gratuity I didn't feel was earned. I'd rather there be no gratuity and just have the costs incorporated into food prices. It would have felt less like a hijacking.

Great food in Brooklyn. I rarely venture out of Manhattan to eat, but this place will see me again. The service was great and its very hard to beat their happy hour specials on shrimp and oysters.

Food is pretty good. But, depending on what you get, the portions can be small and hence over-priced.

Started with cocktail prawns, tasted recently defrosted with a mushy outer layer. Not overtly bad, but definitely not fresh. Green curry mussels were the best thing we had, the bread it was served with was delicious. Ordered the Fried platter: big mistake. about half of the "fish" were empty prawn heads. When we gently mentioned this to our server he said "the tails have just fallen off". We responded that there were double the heads than tails in the platter... To which he responded "okay", and walked away. This left us is a little bit confused. He returned 5 minutes later with 2 freshly fried prawns which was kind, but the communication was a bit off. The most disappointed thing was the 18% gratuity which is part of their "no tipping policy". I had read it before on the website and saw it on the menu but the way it's written "all checks include an 18% administration charge" I assumed that meant it was built into the price of the meal as many NY restaurants are now doing. Obviously it's not. It's a very strange to feel forced to tip, especially as they try and pretend it not. The wording should be changed.
