Nestled on the waterfront in Irvington, New York, Red Hat on the River is an American modern bistro serving satisfied diners since 2003. There's hardly a seat in the house that does not offer a spectacular view of the Hudson river. Banquettes and a pewter bar accent the space while the walls of this 100-year old renovated factory building are adorned with WPA-era art evoking a feeling of a turn of the century Parisian bistro. Evolving from a humble bistro on main street to a bustling restaurant on the river with a rooftop bar, Red Hat's commitment to providing the very best experience for their guests has always remained the same. The food and service were excellent. We all really enjoyed our meal. I was very pleased at how many gluten-free possible options there were. Strangely, none of them were marked as such on the menu. Definitely worth asking if that is something you care about.

Sorry to say I ordered the French toast and it was too soggy in the middle. I like it cooked more, should have told that to the waitress. And the syrup was way too sweet. The breakfast potatoes were very good, as was the key lime pie.

Restaurant is beautifully located on the Hudson River. Service and food was fantastic. However, menu is VERY overpriced!!! $20 for a Tito's vodka drink? It cost us $75 each to SHARE a salad, each have a drink and each have a crab cake sandwich. With prices like that I'll only go back during Restaurant Week.
