About this restaurant

  • Good for groups
  • Innovative
  • Neighborhood gem
Aita Restaurant, in the Clinton Hill neighborhood of Brooklyn, serves a contemporary array of fine Italian dishes, served in a warm and inviting atmosphere. The cuttlefish seppioline and shrimp with tomato fondue and crouton and the whole artichoke in a garlic, mint and anchovy sauce with breadcrumbs make superb starter options. Some of Aita Restaurant's specialty entrées include the short ribs in red wine, the spicy soppressata pork chops, the branzino with baby eggplant and the oxtail burger topped with sharp cheddar, charred tomato and pickled jalapeno. Homemade pastas are also popular, with choices including the spaghetti with braised octopus ragout, the fettucine with lamb sausage and the kale cavatelli with broccoli pesto sauce. Breakfast at Aita Restaurant is equally inventive and warm, with dishes including the braised beef hash with poached eggs and seasonal vegetables and the French toast with homemade cashew butter, strawberries and banana.

We had a wonderful family brunch here for 19 people after an intimate, low-key wedding ceremony nearby at the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens. It was a perfect spot, as our families didn't have to walk far from the ceremony spot to brunch. Anastasio (the manager, I believe) was beyond accommodating in getting us set up with something that was intimate, just what we wanted, and reasonably priced. He was incredibly responsive by phone and email and overall helpful and gracious. Everyone enjoyed the brunch - everyone was able to order from the full menu, all the food was delicious, and we had a nice champagne toast. They also organized to make a cake in house - a delicious, naturally gluten-free, rich chocolate cake, and we have some lovely photos of the cake cutting and toasts. All around, it was absolutely perfect, delicious, and so easy to organize. Anastasio was a total dream to work with to organize this. For anything from a date night spot to a small group brunch to organizing a bigger event brunch like ours, I would highly recommend Aita Trattoria.

Went here for my birthday with my sister, her husband, and 2 kids (2 years old). We made a reservation for 6:15pm (early dinner, with young kids) & it was Friday night. 1) - recommend making reservations - this place seems to get pretty packed pretty quickly. 2) - it's kid friendly in the sense that there's pasta - a couple of other people brought kids too - but they only have 2 high chairs, so if you need a high chair, may want to bring your own clip-on thing, or get there early. 3) - the fried artichoke appetizer is ridiculously good. seriously. i don't think i've had that good of fried artichoke dish ever. I don't even like artichoke & that was frickin' delicious. 4) literally everything we tried was delicious. 5) the menu they have on open table & their website is *not* the same menu they have at the restaurant. I think they have 2 locations - one in Clinton Hill & one in Crown Heights. The Aita Restaurant menu is on the website - the Trattoria one is not. 6) the Prosecco comes from a tap - not a bottle - we ordered a litre of it for the 3 of us - it was cheaper than individual glasses - never had Prosecco from a tap, but it was pretty good. 7) The fettucine with beef & pork was pretty amazing as well. We actually got one to go for later as the kids liked it so much. Would definitely go back...they have a brunch...haven't tried it, but would go hit it up as everything we ate here was pretty good.
