ZZ’s Clam Bar opened in June 2013 and is a raw seafood and craft cocktail bar. Serving only the highest quality ingredients, ZZ’s is an intimate space and a study in raw fish and cocktails from around the world. Dishes like Chianina Beef Carpaccio, Seared Goldeneye Snapper and Kampachi Tartare are paired exceptionally with specialty seasonal drinks. ZZ’s Clam Bar received three stars from GQ Magazine and Bloomberg and was credited by The New York Times for ushering in a new age of raw eating in New York City. ZZ’s Clam Bar serves as the hub of cocktail creativity for the group. In 2014, ZZ’s was nominated as the Best New Bar in America by Tales of the Cocktail, as well as awarded a Michelin star, one of the few cocktail bars in the world to hold this distinction. ZZ’s is elegant yet welcoming and invites guests to enjoy exquisite food in an unadulterated state.

    The food is amazing. The menu is small, and they were out of several options, which was a problem. Still, I would come back many times, since the choices I made were fantastic. Wine list is very limited too. But the quality of the fish and the beef carpaccio did compensate it all.

    ZZ's is an exclusive restaurant from Torrisi & Sons. It's pricey but they are giving you a different experience than anywhere in the City. They have a great variety of mostly raw seafood. Don't be fooled by the name. This is far from a clam bar. You could easily have a great meal here without even eating a clam. The highlights were the tuna toast and the beef carpaccio with black truffles, lobster and sea urchin. They also have great cocktails. Our favorites were the coconut and the Curaçao. The only disappointing part of the evening was they were out of uni toast and the razor clam dish.

    A very intimate space, but not crowded by any means. Cocktails were wonderful, I went with the Sarsaparilla and my dining partner enjoyed the Coconut (because how could we not?). Food was good, though not worth the steep price. The trout roe was by far the freshest and most delicious thing we had, however the toast itself was soggy with butter. Quite unfortunate. The seared scallops were strangely flavorless without their peculiar sauce. I do wish we'd gone for a ceviche dish. The tuna, foie gras and bone marrow carpaccio was unsurprisingly decadent and very satisfying. However, once again, the toast was drenched in butter and rendered pretty much inedible. They recommend 4-6 dishes per 2 guests, but I'd say grab a small bite beforehand and go to ZZ's for cocktails and a plate or three.

    Terrific dining experience. I enjoyed avery minute of being there. Jason and the rest of the staff made it an amazing night. Going to be trying their other restaurant Carbone next week!!

    So cool, but wickedly overpriced. Will think twice before we go there. Extraordinary ceviche was about $20/bite. That's a bummer.

    This place is a very interesting experience. Very good to go once for that, but probably not headed back. It is the smallest restaurant I have ever been in. It has a special experience feel. Unfortunately, with two empty two-tops, we were told our places were at the bar against the wall. When we said we would have a drink and eat elsewhere, they begrudgingly let us have a real table. (We had a reservation.) The food is exceptional, but more like snack portions than dinner. All in all, fun, unusual experience--but not really dinner.
