The Grain House Restaurant is located on the picturesque 10-acre estate of the Olde Mill Inn in Basking Ridge, NJ. The Grain House structure was originally built as a barn in the 1760’s and was used to store grain for American Revolutionary soldiers. The barn was later moved to its current location and opened as a restaurant in the 1930’s.
Today, the Grain House is a renowned restaurant in North/Central New Jersey, with a comfortable, casual ambiance. The restaurant serves innovative, traditional and contemporary interpretations of American cuisine with some added international accents, prepared under the direction of Executive Chef John Benjamin. Delicious homemade desserts complete the menus, which are revised several times a year. Outdoor patio dining and fireside dining are available in season.
The restaurant offers lunch and dinner daily, as well as a special breakfast/lunch a la carte menu offered on Saturdays from 11 am to 4pm. Sunday 11am to 3 pm.

The Hunt Room has a rustic decor with a private pub and dance floor, and features a private entrance. The seasonally tented Hunt Patio is also available for social and corporate events; it is surrounded by rolling lawns and flower gardens with a gazebo.

    My lunch was awful. Service was less than average. Had to ask for a glass of ice two times. My sandwich was terrible. Had to ask for dessert menus and coffee. Not a very good experience

    I met two friends there for dinner. This historic restaurant offers a fireplace which made the room cozy on a damp rainy night. Our servers were attentive and the food was delicious.

    The Grain House never disappoints with food or service. They also make very good coffee!! Our only gripe is the lack of sound absorbing materials in the dining room that makes the noise level almost unbearable.
