About this restaurant

Since opening in 2004, Jackie's restaurant in Silver Springs, Maryland, has been receiving awards and pleasing customers. Owners Jackie Greenbaum and Patrick Higgins converted an old auto mechanic shop into this great bar and restaurant. The industrial decor is appropriate yet still warm and inviting. The award winning wine list is just one of the things that keeps customers coming back to Jackie's restaurant. Adam Harvey, the chef at Jackie's restaurant, creates his dishes using locally grown, high quality, organic ingredients. Appetizers like truffled cheese fries and pork riblets are popular. For entrees opt for something simple, such as sea scallops or branch out with something unique like lobster risotto. The tiramisu eclair makes the perfect dessert. Brunch is also an option at Jackie's on Sundays.

Too bad our last night at Jackie's was a disappointment. We knew it was fried chicken night (which has great food!), but we didn't realize that you can't even order extra sides. This meant that we had to order a chicken dinner for our vegetarian friend, and she couldn't even eat the kale because it had bacon! Then, to make it worse, they wouldn't even give us an extra biscuit or more potato salad. Very disappointing. It felt like they were being very stingy. We've been going to Jackie's for more than 10 years to celebrate birthdays, etc in the neighborhood. We were sad it was leaving, but now we feel like we're ready to move on. Hopefully Jackie's new restaurant will be more customer friendly, especially for vegetarians on ANY night.

Jackie's will be missed - glad I had the chance to enjoy it one last time. Food and drinks were fantastic but service was slow and not very attentive even though many tables were empty. Looking forward to the new restaurant opening!

Glad I got to visit one last time before Jackie's closes! Great food, great ambience, plus we got to hear a good bar band at Sidebar next door. Sad to see this place close its doors.

My latest meal at Jackie's underscored why I will miss it when it closes it's Silver Spring location. The Truffle Cheese Fries were the devil's temptation. The sea bass was perfect. Think I have to get back one more time before the end of the month.

Poor service. Waited over an hour for food - on the chicken special night. People seated after us were served before we were. Waitress was awesome and apologetic, but could not motivate the kitchen staff to get our food. She offered to have the manager come over - that took another half hour. He was gruff, rude, and pretty much dismissive. He basically told us if we weren't happy to just leave. No charge for the dinners but it still left a bad feeling. I guess when you are within two weeks of closing you don't feel you need return customers.
