Fine dining has brought Boone Tavern much of its international acclaim. Whether you prefer traditional or creative southern cuisine, you will find palate pleasing fare in Boone Tavern’s Dining Room. The Duncan Hines Excellence in Hospitality Award was presented to Boone Tavern in 2003. The prestigious award is named for restaurant critic Duncan Hines. The Kentucky Tourism Council states, “Boone Tavern has been a hallmark in the hospitality business for nearly a century. After all these years, it continues to be a favorite destination.”
Lunch offerings let you choose from a variety of salads, unique sandwiches and hot entrées. Evening meals offer an array of delightful appetizers, salads, classic entrées and desserts. Historical favorites like “Chicken Flakes in a Bird’s Nest” and “spoonbread” are fixtures in the restaurant. Sunday Brunch is another tradition. Dining room attire is tastefully casual.

    I was disappointed with my dinner. The short rib was bland. The worst part of the dinner was the hair in our spoon bread, and I was surprised to not any acknowledgement of the issue from a manager. Service was slow. The people in our party said the fried chicken was excellent.

    Was so disappointed in our dinner. My mom ordered the scallops. They were the size of a quarter and had SHELLS! I ordered the chicken nest, absolutely no taste and green beans had so much garlic in them, they were inedible. Our waitress didn’t even offer us dessert!!The air in our room did not work after 11:00PM as if it were regulated. No shampoo in the shampoo dispenser. No bellman to help with luggage. The need to step it up!

    The real dining room is under renovation but the alternate room was fine and service was very good. In general food was good, but not exceptional. Our scallops entree was somewhat flavorless. The highlight of the menu were the appetizers. Between our group, we got three different appetizers and they were all exceptional.

    All in all the food & service was very good. One of the main dishes should have been served at a warmer temp. The spoonbread is a must! Will go back, for sure.

    It was great overall! The Trout was the best I've ever had. Servers were great as well! We love this hotel and restaurant!

    Fantastic experience. Husbands hamburger came out a little late and the server and manager went out of their way to apologize. They took the burger off the bill and gave all 6 of us desert. It was above and beyond. This is our 5th year of going to Boones Tavern for Mother's Day and it’s perfect!
