We chose Stella 34 for the convenience to Madison Square Garden. Look forward to something different than the normal pub fair and thought it was going to be a lovely dinner. Had a Caprese salad with tomatoes that were totally unripened with no flavor. Husband had meatballs, which was decent. Had the salmon dish with pretend gnocchi with peas needing seasoning. Husband had shrimp risotto, which was a huge mistake. It certainly wasn't a creamy dish as it should be. It was basically drier rice and shrimp. Panna cotta was so unappetizing and overly sweet. My aperol spritz was certainly not to my liking either . We certainly will never return. Service was decent.

Solid dining experience. Excellent wood fired food from pizza to egg plant parmesan. Good choices for the kids too. Tiny bit on the pricey side, but it’s NY! Fairly quiet ambiance.

The location, views, and brightness of the restaurant were great and the service provided was excellent. Our server was friendly, prompt, and knowledgeable. Overall, the venue and service were incredible. The food was good, but not great. The chicken on my Caesar Salad was a bit dry, and my wife’s eggplant parmigiana was okay. Fortunately, the appetizers were very tasty and the cafe affogato made us forget the main course.

Stella 34 never disappoints, whether you are a native NYer or visiting our great city. Get a seat by the window for a taste of Herald Square, especially at dusk if possible. The food never disappoints, and plenty of options for starters, dinner even drinks. My only disappointment is the restaurant's grille and bar closed 30 minutes after we arrived, but that was my fault for not realizing a 730 pm reservation was a tight one. Regardless, the staff never rushed us, and we enjoyed a wonderful meal with friends from Canada visiting NYC for the first time. Being at the top of iconic Macy's is an added bonus for tourists. Stella 34 remains a go-to for a reason. Run, don't walk if you have never been.

Stella 34 is a real fem in a neighborhood without many choices. The food is delicious and servings are generous. Our server was attentive and pleasant. Overall, just an excellent experience.
