Sinbad's Pier II RestaurantGreat dinner for Mother's DayWent here with my family to Celebrate Mother's day on 7pm this past Saturday night. This is the best spot in SF to see the Bay Bridge and the new lights. The host sat the 6 of us right by the window and we got to see the best views of the Bay. They could update some of the things inside, but it adds to the charm that is Sinbad's. Our waitress was outstanding, even going as far to let us know that there is a huge party about to order, allowing us a good heads up that we should order in order to not be bothered by any wait. And even after we ordered, our food came out very quickly. Their seafood is extremely fresh and delicious. I recommend the bouillabaise. Yes, the decor is dated and yet, that is to be expected in a historical place like this. Our server was very attentive, even though he was rushed at times as this place can get busy even on a Thursday evening when we went. He was zany, amusing and kept making us laugh. I believe this is likely the best view you can get of the new light show on the Bay Bridge of any restaurants in S.F. because it's on the water and up close and personal with the bridge. But found out that the lights won't start until around 8-8:30 pm when it gets dark, so we decided to stay and had dinner. Well, we made the right decision, it was so worth it. We liked all what we ordered- fried calamari, seafood pasta and blackened snapper. The bill all came up to about $66.50 excluding tax and tip. The view from our table was just gorgeous and I was glad I decided to bring my guests here. I am proud that SF has this attraction in the evening. 1. It had the best view of the lighted bridge;
2. Food was fresh and tasty; and
3. Valet parking was cheap.
Can't wait to bring my next out of town visitors to this restaurant. I agree that the place needs a remodel, but the food was delicious, cooked to perfection. Service was great and staf were all friendly. I was not treated any different for having a groupon. We're glad we did it, we were happy and satisfied:
1. The Bay LED LIGHTS are AMAZING from where we were seated;
2. FOOD was REAL TASTY and PORTIONS were BIG ENOUGH; and
3. VALET PARKING was NOT A PROBLEM and it was CHEAP @ $5.00!

The whole span of the bridge can be seen from our table; it was beautiful. Food was very good, bit pricey, but it was worth it. Dessert was good with freshly brewed coffee. But the real winner was the gorgeous lights in the bay bridge, so fun to watch how the patterns change every now and then.
