  • "Don't be deceived by appearance because this restaurant looked so dated but the view from your table was oh so amazing. I love its character and the food was really good. Our old-time favorite was their clam chowder which usually comes with crackers. But ask your server to give you sourdough bread instead of crackers and you dip the bread in the chowder. It's soo yummy. Our other favorites are the grilled snapper and chicken fettucini. I've tried their shrimp melt, it was not my type, so don't order this."

  • "The restaurant is famous for its seafood but since I am not a fish person, I ordered steak instead. I was surprised how good their ribeye steak was. It was tender, thick and big and for the price of $33.00 it was SO WORTH it. I ate the whole steak and it filled me up, I did not have any room even for a bite of dessert my wife was having."

  • "Enjoyable lunch with a clear view of the bay and the sailboats passing by. What a unique dining experience! And I highly recommend their thick, juicy cheeseburger and fresh, moist salmon florentine. We also enjoyed very much their apple pie a la mode; if you order this, don't forget to tell your server to warm the pie. It makes the pie taste a lot better in combination with the vanilla ice cream that comes with it. But the view was the winner of them all!"

  • "The food was very good and the view gorgeous. But I only give it a four star because the service was bit slow. They were busy at that time, they could have assigned more servers."

  • "The restaurant itself was old but nice; has some charms in it. Most importantly, the view was incredible! The bridge lights were so delightful, the patterns change every now and then. We were all satisfied with our food, we thought they were all excellent. My seabass was very delicious, fresh and moist. My son liked his seafood pasta and the portion was large, too. I will come back."

  • "I'll start off by saying the view is fantastic and theservice was great. The restaurant is older and has character. The food left much to be desired. The bread they brought to the table tasted store bought. I had the farmer salad which would have been decent if it weren't $18. It came on a bed of iceberg lettuce with minimal effort on the extras. I could easily make this salad at home."

  • "They lost our open table Rez and then cancelled it via email afterward and were very rude about not having our Rez... and if appearances are any predictor of quality I'm so glad we didn't eat there and break our streak of amazing foodie experiences through our use of the yelp-open table tool."

  • "We came across Sinbad's on our why to a Giants game and thought to give it a try and we've returned. Yes, the facility is somewhat dated. However, ever hear of character; and, on the waterfront to boot? Our experiences have been enjoyable, we've always been greeted with kindness and a smile, quickly seated, and served good food and drinks. While others may feel this facility not worth the trouble, we will continue to return and enjoy the view, staff, food, and drinks; hopefully, for a long time to come!"

  • "Restaurants, then you will love Sinbad's. It doesn't get much better than this. I've never taken anyone there who didn't say wow this place is really great. Hip and sheeshy it isn't, which is perfect. Step back in time and be prepared for a warm hello and a smile - the menu is traditional as well. So bring friends who appreciate things the way they used to be, like Tony Bennett songs."

  • "Terrible food. Nothing fresh about it. Could have found better fish in a diner in the middle of the country. Have no idea how any of the reviewers could have considered this good. Sauces on the food seemed like they were prepared the week before and reheated. Didn't see a single fresh green item anywhere. Decor was tired and run down. Booths looked like they got them as scrap from an IHOP that was being renovated. On the positives, the view is outstanding and our server was helpful and friendly. Unfortunately the food quality ruined the evening. Found several much better choices in the area, don't waste your time here. Owner really needs to invest in the place or sell it. Could be a gold mine if the food was on par with the view."

  • "They gave us an outside seating at their patio, exactly what we were looking for on a hot sunny afternoon. It was sunny but breezy and the view of the bay was so gorgeous. My friend and I had 2 cold drinks each, they were so refreshing that we wanted to order our 3rd. But instead, we decided to order lunch. My scallops were tasty and perfect, they were big and juicy. My friend had a shrimp open-faced sandwich, but he was not so impressed with it. I tasted it and yes, I was glad I had scallops!!LOL"

  • "I like to hang out in their bar especially at night, have a few drinks and some appetizers (my favorite is the calamari). From the bar, I can see the nice bridge lights with different changing patterns. It is very unique and beautiful. They said this is considered the biggest light sculpture having more lights than the Eiffel Tower."

  • "I gave it a 4 star. The food was great, view was wonderful but the dining room was old although with some charm in it. I find their prices reasonable. I would recommend the restaurant to my friends."

  • "Had lunch here. Very scenic at day but was told that evening view of the bridge with its LED lights is much better. Well, I have a reason to come back for dinner and check it out. By the way, their grilled seabass was excellent and the lobster thermidore was to die for."

  • "We almost cancelled our reservation because of the bad reviews we read from Yelp. Glad we did not do it but dined there as planned. We made the right decision. The building was a downer at first. But everything else was very good, food, view, service. The blackened salmon, grilled snapper and calamari appetizer were winners. You can tell the fish and squid were fresh. While the open-faced shrimp sandwich was tasty, it fell short of my daughter's expectation. But their chocolate cake with ice cream on the side was very delicious, moist & chocolatey. Our server was fast and friendly. The light show in the bay bridge was astonishing; everyone enjoyed it and could not stop talking about it even when we got home. We had a nice time and that what matters."
    Dined on 5/21/2014
  • "First-the view was beautiful, second-the lobster thermidore was to die for (although bit pricey) and third- valet parking was cheap. However, the place looked dilapidated and old, but that was the least of our concern. Definitely, we will dine again."

  • "Not the fancy typre restaurant but their food is delicious and the view gorgeous. For a party of 3 at lunch that included 3 entrees, 2 desserts and 2 drinks for $84 (plus tax, plus tip) was not bad at all. My guests and I enjoyed the food and the view."
    Dined on 5/31/2014
  • "This restaurant is prime location, it could have so much potential! Unfortunately the wait staff was tired or bored and the food was awful. I had the calamari steak and it was rubbery. The only thing this restaurant has going for it, is the gorgeous view."
    Dined on 6/15/2014
  • "Wow! What gorgeous view they have. Food was tasty, service was friendly and attentive, valet parking was cheap. I want to give them 5-star, but the building needed a facelift, so I think 4-star is fair."
    Dined on 5/18/2014
  • "Great outdoor tables by the water; calamari and mushroom caps with cold beer and white wine. Nice place to relax and enjoy the cool sea breeze and the sun with cold drinks and appetizers. We will come back, maybe we should also try their main course next time."
    Dined on 5/18/2014
  • "I was surprised they make delicious pasta- chicken fettucini. The portion was large with lots of chicken and the pasta was perfectly cooked, al dente, just like how we Italians prefer. But the most amazing part was the view of the lights in the bridge, we have not seen something like that anywhere else. The restaurant though looked shabby, but food and view were very good."

  • "Their clam chowder was good and had lots of clams in it. The best I've ever tasted . We also liked their cheeseburger, was thick and juicy. The view of the baybridge was spectacular, especially on that clear sunny day we came . From where we were seated, we can clearly see the Treasure Island, too."

  • "Sinbads is a venerable, old "under the (Bay) bridge" bar and eatery. Ownership has let their "bet ride" on the existing conditions there in every category FOR FAR TOO LONG. It is unchanged in my 50 years in town. It is time for a total strip-down and redo, from the menu to the carpeting. It is a shame to let such a choice location go moldy. PLEASE MAKE AN EFFORT TO TOTALLY REDO Sinbads."

  • "We won't be back - not a fan of cold clam chowder and stale bread - the main meals were over cooked. "

  • "I liked it here, food was very good. They have a variety to choose from, but my favorites are: capt seafood combination and crab salad. The view was amazing! My visitors from the east coast were so happy to see the famous light show on the Bay Bridge."

  • "Not the fancy type restaurant, but a good one. View-excellent, food-very good and service-friendly. The outside patio looked cool. I was inside the main dining room and the view was really nice. But on my way out, I saw that they have a patio where customers enjoyed their drinks ,the sun, the breeze and the view of the water and sailboats passing through. Cool and lovely! I have a reason to come back."

  • "I loved the ambiance of the place, old and charming but with a fantastic view. We came in for lunch and the view of the bay was amazing, but one customer told us that evening was the best time to come because of the bridge lights. He described it as "unusual and mesmerizing" that he always brought her visitors for dinner here. So the next time we will be in the city, we will come here for dinner.Afterall, I liked their grilled snapper a lot, spicy and tasty."

  • "Inside the restaurant, the view of the Bay was spectacular. I did not expect this kind of view judging from how the restaurant looked from outside. It is kinda old and shabby-looking. But don't be deceived by its outward appearance... keep going. I think this is one of the best restaurants with the best view of the Bay and Bay Bridge. The food was delicious and they have big portions. I liked my capt seafood combination, it had a light creamy sauce where I dipped my bread into it. It was so good. Parking was not a problem as they have a valet costing me only $6 plus tip. The only negative I can say is the service could have been faster, but there were a lot of customers, so I can understand."

  • "Outstanding: 1. View of the lighted bay bridge 2. Valet parking (Cheap) 3. Blackened salmon Moderate/Soso: 1. Building interior 2. Service"

  • "With the lights of the BayBridge in the background, this restaurant is definitely fit for romnatic dinners. I just had one with my wife on our 5th anniversary. I was glad we decided to have it here. The food was very good but we loved most of all, their moist chocolate with ice cream on the side. That was amazingly good!"

  • "Pretty view of the bay with sailboats passing by. I ordered seafood pasta, it was great and portion was large, too. My partner ordered grilled scallops, they were excellent, fresh and big. We will come back and try other foods- we saw the orders of the table next us, their steak looked soo yummy."

  • "Had a nice romantic evening with my friend here. The restaurant was old-looking inside, but the view was incredible. First, we had a few drinks at the bar directly across the lighted bridge, it was beautiful. Then we transferred to the main dining for dinner where the view was even more beautiful . Food was good but bit pricey. Overall, it was an outstanding dinner."
    Dined on 11/16/2013
  • "View and Food are the two main features of this Restaurant. The only downside was service was bit slow, server had too many tables, I think. But otherwise, we had great dining experience. Would highly recommend especially at night because of the bridge light show."

  • "Food was excellent, we had grilled snapper and blackened salmon. Both were really delicious and fresh. Valet Parking was only $6. Been parking in the city, I think, this is the cheapest. "

  • "Nearly cancelled my reservation after my partner made me read all the bad reviews. Glad I didn't.This is not a restaurant for snooty SF foodies. It is a beautiful spot with unpressured service, clean, but dated. The food fresh and flavorful and rivaled most tourist spots at the Wharf. The staff very helpful, and when I asked to be seated on the right so we could see the bridge lights come up, they agreed. I didn't find the service slow, but staff realized we were there for the lights and let us dine at a leisurely pace.It is the perfect place to bring out of town guests, but I was as in awe as they were. The wine list is limited but reasonable, the food is a bit overpriced, but you're paying for the view and it is well worth it."
    Dined on 3/22/2014
  • "I was really looking forward to going here, even though I knew it would be a 'paying for the view' thing. BUT, there are MUCH better options if that's what you want. The view was fine, but I don't think there have been any renovations since the 1970s. Even on the tiny balcony where there are some tables, the wire fence was falling apart and so I would never bring my kids out there. The food was not good- I had a tuna sandwich and it was BAD! Seriously, how do you make a tuna sandwich bad? And my daughter got the pasta and it was not edible. It's not even a good nostalgic place- say your taste buds and money and go to ANY of the other places on the Pier."
    Dined on 3/22/2014
  • "There was something just not right here. The food was expensive for a Denny's comparable experience. I think it needs to be renovated...both in menu and interior. The view of the bridge was nice and the waitress/bell person were good. But the rest I would say is a good candidate for the TV show Restaurant Impossible... I would give two stars but the food was just so poor and that is truly why you are there."
