Simply Fondue is one of the pricier venues in town so I would suggest to ony go there on special occasions. For my husbands birthday, we enjoyed several a la cart dishes and not one bite of food was leftover! The waiter was very helpful and attentive but not annoying. He left us alone for a nice dinner, only stopping by periodically. It was also a nice touch that for his birthday, they gave him a dessert champagne with a strawberry and candle. And thank goodness they didn't sing out loud and embarrass us like other restaurants tend to do. It was expensive but worth it for a great night out n

We got the feast - It was a lot of food and a nice introductions to fondue type eating if you have never been before. This is my second time there and I would definitely go again, but would not do the feast, it is very pricey. I would go for the chocolate and the martinis !!

It's always been good, we've probably been over 8 times. Have a martini. Your dipping in some fine cheese, oil and or a flat griddle. Three different methods if you go for the feast. How can you not enjoy this place?

My wife and I came to Simply Fondue to celebrate her birthday. We had never had fondue before so neither of us knew what to expect. Everything seemed a bit pricey but we were warned of that fact. We started off with the Pepper jack cheese Fondue dip and it was delicious. I am more keen to dipping the bread than the veggies but that's an opinion. We were surprised when the waiter told us that we would be cooking our own food right on the table in front of us. We had a blast and everything was COOKED how we wanted. The chefs will prepare everything perfectly for you to make sure they all taste delicious. The Mahi-mahi and salmon were to die for and I suggest having those. All-in-all a great experience and we'll definitely be going back.

Simply Fondue is somewhere you go for a special occasion or to try something different. The food is good, but the dessert is where I would give them 5 stars. The front desk is not very friendly. Though they aren't rude, they are just pretty much emotionless when greeting you. Our waitress was pleasant. I had a group of 5 and we were in a semi-private room which was good, but a bit cramp when all the food and drinks were delivered. We all had the feast, which is $49pp. Lots of food. The salad and cheese fondue were hearty. The meats/seafood were so-so. For dessert, we had the kaluha chocolate fondue and the sea salt caramel. Let me tell you we almost licked the bowl on the caramel one. Great bar drinks.

We booked a reservation for my 30th birthday and I don't think we could have picked a better place! The server, Dane, was hilarious and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, cocktail suggestions, wine list suggestions, etc. The food was absolutely superb and the options were endless! Would go back in a heartbeat and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a delicious/social dinner with a group, or a quiet romantic meal with you significant other. Beautiful setting, great service and excellent food!

I've been here several times, and each time is memorable. The three-hour Fondue Feast experience is luxurious, the food, especially the bacon wrapped steak and the herbed pork tenderloin, are incredible. I love the Gorgonzola salad and the traditional fondue cooking style. They are good at trying to accommodate requests (quiet booths, etc.), and the servers are knowledgable and engaged. I strongly recommend this restaurant for anyone wanting to celebrate a special occasion with people you want to spend unhurried time with.

We had our 4th anniversary in the back in a booth that was lit all by candles and quietly separated from the rest of the restaurant. Our waitress was Danielle and she was very awesome! I had also had dropped off a flower arrangement and card to be brought out after we ordered and right on time the manager showed up with them. Overall we had a great time, it was romantic and the food itself was very good. They had a special for thursday but we went with the normal "feast" options which included a few extra dishes. I would recommend the cheddar and swiss pots too.

  • Fun when you have time to dine...
    BayAreaDiner
    Dined on 10/19/2014
The dinner enjoyable, but you of course have to come prepared with the time and desire to cook your own food - first course is salad, then fondue (veggies and bread) and then the third course consists of cooking your own meat. It's a lot of fun as long as you're prepared for the need to do that and also with the time. You will not get in and out of this restaurant quickly. For a meal with 3 adults and 2 children it took us about 2 hours in and out. The dinner, as I mentioned is good and fun, but the thing NOT TO MISS at this place is the dessert. In fact, if I come back (which I think I will - we had a lot of fun)...I wouldn't mind having a light meal elsewhere and then coming here for the dessert. The chocolate fondue is heavenly!

Jon was our server. He was amazing. So entertaining. Had great recommendations. Would go back just for him! Food was yummy and we had a great time. My only negative comment is that the restaurant seems to need a facelift. The material our seat was made of was cracked and looked really old. I thought I heard the restaurant was renovated but I guess not.

Bartender completely ignored us. After 10 minutes of waiting, decided we would get drinks at our table when we were seated. No joke, 45 minutes to get the first 2 martinis. While 2 of us enjoyed our drinks, almost another 15 minutes for the other 2 to arrive for the rest of our table. Sorry, there is no reason it should ever take that long for a drink. Not a way to spend your birthday dinner after driving 45 minutes to get to the restaurant. It took 40 minutes for us to get WATER. Food was good, service awful.

My kids were begging to come here. They like cook and they adore the chocolate fondue. I have a 11 year old son and a 14 year old daughter and they are both very full and very happy at the end I was disappointed to see that they have added a $6 all you can eat fee, on top of the $46 fixed price for the adult meal. Not sure why they added this on. Makes the meal really expensive and makes us visit less. Sad for the restaurant, not us. Also, had two kids, so they couldn't possible eat too much.

The food, service, ambiance were all superb. But parking is non-existant - atrocious - horrific on a Saturday night for 8:30p dinner reservations. Recommend you go much earlier in the evening or bring your walking shoes and allow an extra 25 minutes to circle the downtown area for parking.

My husband and I wanted to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary somewhere special, so we chose Simply Fondue in Livermore. At the time we made the reservation we asked them if they could have a special table for us, and they said that wouldn't be a problem. When they sat us, the hostess placed us at the table right by the back kitchen and the bathrooms. I asked her if there was a different table and she said no. The location of the table was noisy and not what I would consider appropriate for a wedding anniversary. With all that said, we had a wonderful server who made our experience very enjoyable. The food was delicious and the experience turned out fine.

My girlfriend and I chose Simply Fondue for dinner on our first anniversary. She arranged beforehand with the manager to be able to have her flower arrangement on the table for me and they were so helpful in preparation and everything was perfect. They had to change our table to allow for the massive flowers. Our waitress Alex was the best! She even made us complimentary drinks for our special occasion and really made the night special. It was my first time here and I can't wait to return! The only downside to the experience was they would not allow my girlfriend to set up our go pro as hidden camera to capture my reaction to the flowers/gifts as she wanted.

The restaurant was really nice. Good service and quite a romantic atmosphere. My only complaint is that ALL the things they brought us to dip in the fondue were not fresh at all. Every piece of bread was hard and stale and the vegetables looked like they had been sitting out for awhile. Again, that was the only thing that did not add to the evening.

Our service alone will make sure that we make another visit to Simply Fondue. The gentleman that helped us celebrate our wedding anniversary was friendly and engaging, while making sure we understood our menu options. His name slips my mind, but he set the tone for a wonderful evening. The food was fantastic. We went with the four course feast as we could not resist trying a cheese pot as well as a chocolate pot. Both were excellent and we had to stop ourselves from sticking our fingers in the hot pot to clean the bowl. The main entrée was good, but the meet seems to lose some of its seasoning in the cooking process. One tip, they allow you to bring in a Livermore Valley bottle of wine to enjoy with dinner sans a corkage fee.
