Diner Reviews
  • "Very, very noisy with the hustle environment to get people in and out! Could tell it was to generate money all about business. However food was as always delicious."

  • "Thank you for being where you are and being a fine restaurant that never disappoints us. You waiter or waitresses are always excellent and we love dinning with you."

  • "Our family chose Simon's after my sister went there for brunch. The food tasted great but we could tell it had sat for awhile before it was brought to our table. Also they were very busy so it took a kind of long to get our food. I would like to go back on a regular weekend."

  • "Simon & Seafort's has a great reputation in Anchorage and the food they served was very good and the service was very good as well. My only disappointment was they had advertised an Easter Brunch but their brunch was just a very limited version of their regular menu. I would not recommend this restaurant for brunch, especially if you are looking for breakfast items on the menu."

  • "We had a party of four and everyone claimed that the food was cold. The dish that was mainly hash browns came with a side of potatoes and toast- not good. The Wellington was missing a sauce. The eggs Benedict was good but cold. We all thought that Simon's on a week day would be a place to eat but never again for a holiday occasion. Also, the staff looked frazzled."

  • "We will definitely be dining here again for incredible fine dining food and exceptional service. The halibut cheeks, which the waiter recommended, were absolutely delicious! The waiter was very attentive (but not hovering), outgoing, and answered all of our questions. The desserts (molten chocolate cake & crème brulee) were phenomenal and just the right portion. We also greatly appreciated the free dessert for my husband since it was his birthday. The view of the mountains (sleeping lady possibly) was a great bonus with our scrumptious meals. "

  • "I'm never disappointed, the food is delish and the staff is friendly and attentive."

  • "I want to share that our wait person was extremely helpful as she lent me reading glasses so I could read the menu! She was terrific! the halibut cheeks dish was the best ever! Please consider keeping that on the menu when halibut is in season!"

  • "I came back to Anchorage and ate at Simon 's. NEVER disappointed. Simon's is the best restaurant in Anchorage and has been for such a long time. Don't miss the experience."

  • "Excellent seafood choices, although a little expensive. The halibut cheeks are wonderful. For non-eafood, try the chicken djon."

  • "Even though it is a little pricier than other places it is well worth it. The view is amazing (looks out over the inlet and sleeping lady), I have never had one bad thing on their menu, everything taste great, the staff is very friendly and helpful which is always a plus. I have been here on multiple occasions and always had an outstanding waiter/waitress. We will continue to go here!"

  • "I wanted to have a special birthday for my girlfriend and it was a success! Our server Robbie is great. He is very familiar with the menu and answered all of our questions. He went out of his way to make sure our dinner was memorable he was great with my daughter (10 yrs.) He used great judgment when he saw that our portions were on the light side and requested additional halibut cheeks from the chef. He is very attentive and personable. He made sure that the food was up to our expectations and that our drinks were topped off. I normally do not fill out questionnaires but I had such a great dinning experience that I had to share. P.S. the prime rib, parmesan crusted halibut cheeks, and stuffed halibut were out of this world! Thank you."

  • "Our waiter (Steve) provided us with excellent service. Never out of tea or water and was there to see to our needs with out hovering over us."
    Dined on 4/5/2014
  • "Overall the quality of food did not meet our expectations (too salty/overseasoned and the oranges in kids meals had an odd sourish taste, but maybe they are supposed to be that way). However, the waitstaff were very attentive. I also appreciate that the restaurant was able to accommodate 14 guests in one area on a Friday night."

  • "S&S has predictably good fresh fish. The only place in town that always seems to have halibut cheeks on the menu Service is quick but not intrusive, One of the best views of the inlet from any restaurant in town"

  • "Our favorite restaurant! Food is always excellent."

  • "That is the difference between 'other' dining establishments and 'Simon and Sesforts,' gems that glint and stars that shine with a stellar radiance that poets covet. My experience at Simon snd Seaforts was just that, a cosmic and poetic happening that deserves to be written for all to read. From the pleasing ambiance of wait staff and furnishings to zephyr sweet aromas produced by the Chefs, this is THE finest dining in the city."

  • "The whole experience was wonderful! It was my boyfriend and my first time at Simon and Seafort's. There was a great selection of entrees and wines, but not so many beers. The food was definitely filling, and the desert was unbelievable. It was the best anniversary dinner I have ever had. It was wonderfully romantic and the view was unbelievable. Don't let any reviews about the lighting lead you astray, it was eclectic, not off or odd. Wonderful place to visit, definite adventure!"

  • "My husband and I come here for special occasions. My gal pals come here for a girls night. The bar is always busy, the drinks are quite good. I love their Vanilla Sky Martini and their seasonal fruit cobbler."

  • "A must do in anchorage! Halibut & Halibut cheek combo was amazing!"
    Dined on 3/25/2014
  • "The view was something out of a dream - setting sun, clear skies, calm waters, and snow-capped Mt. Susitna. The mood was energetic and overall busy. The server was timely; however, due to many other guests and full tables, the service was slow even though he tried his best. The rib eye steak was too much on the rare side and the potato wedges were slightly raw. The classic Oysters Rockefeller were outstanding and Key Lime pie was a refreshing finish to the meal. In fact, the Key Lime pie was so good, I purchased a whole pie to go."

  • "We made a reservation for 7:45. We checked in at exactly 7:45. We were told they were running behind and had just caught up with their 7:30 reservations. I was a bit discouraged at that. I figured what is 15 minutes, plus, we were told by our friends we had to check this place out. 45 minutes after our reservation (would have left if we thought we could get something somewhere else) we get a table. The view is nice but we would have had more time to enjoy our Alaska sunset if we had been seated on time. We ordered the calamari, it was yummy. My husband ordered the steak and I ordered the crab legs. For the price we could have gotten better at a Las Vegas steakhouse. I was very disappointed in my entire experience."

  • "Food was awesome as always. Great service and the sunset was amazing."

  • "This is my wife's favorite place as long as they have the Halibut Cheeks, they are the best. My son had the Prime Rib this visit and it was excellent. I had the burger which was a little bland but decent. The waiter was excellent but the food to table was very slow this time, not sure what happened which is a rare."

  • "As always they are very accommodating! Loved the sunset tonight made it a perfect surprise date night!"

  • "Egg mustard salad was delicious! Entrees always seem too salty. Great server!"
    Dined on 3/22/2014
  • "It was busy Friday night, but it took 45 minutes to get our wine and a plate of bread. Wait staff never stopped at the table to give us an update or see if there was anything we needed. When i talked to the manager he too did nothing to make things right"
    Dined on 3/21/2014
  • "The scallops were excellent but the presentation and side dishes did not match. They were served around a giant scoop of mashed potatoes covered in onion rings. There were a few teaspoons of peas and corn mixed into the potatoes. Not only was it not visually pleasing but the combination was not good. I would expect something more healthy as a side. It was as if they were compensating for the healthy fish by adding a big serving of unhealthy food."
    Dined on 3/21/2014
  • "Loved the view overlooking the inlet. Food was prepared well, about average for an upscale restaurant. Service was a little slow but ok. Will be back."
    Dined on 3/19/2014
  • "The views were awesome. I had a guest from Seattle and we took pictures all through the sunset over the inlet. Very good food and enjoyable. No rush!"
