  • "Never had a prob w/S&S in the past. #1choice w/fam in town. made res & req window tbl 7ds b4. Waited 30min for table that never came open. Given option in a corner that was crowded and noisy. Food took forever, server didn't tell us specials, just a piece of meat w/fries for $30 and way over priced. So dissappointed and was embarrassed that I'm the one that recommended Simons. Ugh."

  • "I have eaten at this restaurant for over 20 years now. This last visit was disappointing. My wife's steak was overcooked and when it was brought up to the server he just shrugged and said "yup, it sure is". No apology was offered nor was there any attempt to fix it."

  • "Often restaurants don't live up to the hype but Simon and Seaforts definitely does. The food is great and the service is friendly. It's relatively expensive but worth it. Definitely give it a go if you are in Anchorage. You won't be disappointed"

  • "On the positive side, the halibut cheeks were fantastic. The undercooked broccolini and hard mashed potatoes were not. My dining companion ordered her ribeye medium-medium well, emphasizing the importance of this to our server. The steak arrived rare and was promptly returned to the kitchen. The second steak arrived even rarer than the first. The manager removed the steak from our bill, which was appreciated, but my guest left hungry. The quality and care of the food seems to have greatly gone downhill."

  • "The waitress was good and the food was great; however, if I had not been engaged in conversation with a cousin I hadn't seen in fifteen years, I would have walked out without dinner. The waitress came to our table three times telling us our dinner would be right out and finally, after almost one and a half hours, we got our dinner. For the price we paid for our dinners, this wait is unacceptable. I will not take out-of-town guests there again."

  • "Excellent King crab legs! Excellent service! Capacity crowd was well handled. They listen to their customers--we asked for a table for two with a view and they accomodated!!"

  • "Great food, great staff, great location, great view."

  • "My husband and I had the crab cakes which were delicious. He had the halibut cheeks and I had the stuffed halibut, neither of which you can go wrong. The food is suburb our server on the other hand was not the friendliest we didn't even know his name till he brought us the check. We lucked out and got a window seat view was amazing! We love Simons!"

  • "The good food, excellent service, terrific view is spoiled by excessive noise. Those in our party who had unimpaired hearing were unable to carry on a normal conversation; the hearing impaired person (me) found the noise to be bothersome and seriously detracting from what should have been a wonderful experience."

  • "Waited for a table we had reserved. Waited for a simple mojito. Never served bread like the tables around us. My order was so small that I finished before my wife was halfway done with her steak. Other than that, okay."

  • "The food was OK, the service was fine if a bit rushed, neither was anything special. The place is noisy and so it was not a relaxing place to eat for us. We won't go back; for the money the food, as I said, wasn't that special, the ambiance was noisy and rushed, and the view wasn't worth the premium."

  • "We've never had a bad experience at Simon's in the nearly 30 years we have been going there. The food is always delicious and the service is the best! Our compliments to the restaurant staff. It is always busy in the restaurant and they do a super job of keeping things moving!"

  • "This restaurant was highly recommended by a friend. It was well worth the trip. The food was wonderful. Our waiter was great at explaining the specials. The Halibut cheeks were phenominal! The bar was lively and very friendly. When our request for a window table was honored, we couldn't be happier. Anchorage rocks!"

  • "The restaurant was packed so reservations a must. We had a drink in the bar before we were seated. Very energetic and good crowd. Then we moved onto our table and had a great view of the bay. Beautiful day. Food was great. Not the cheapest but worth the money for the quality and experience. Would go back when i'm in Anchorage again."

  • "4th time coming here since moving to Anchorage a year ago. Great view and food. We always start the occasion by going to the bar for a drink. Always a pleasant experience dining here."

  • "This was the second time dining here. The first time was much better. This time, the salmon was very dry. The green beans virtually had no taste. The potatoes were undercooked. The highlight was the children's portion of fettuccine Alfredo. It was tasty. My daughter came here with her husband and children for two-week visit. We wanted this to be the highlight of their trip, being the last day."

  • " Definitely not a kid friendly place, a couple across from us complained about our two young children, although they were behaving appropriately for their ages, 2 and 12. The place was not very busy but the service was too slow. And finally our bill was not calculated accurately, which delayed our departure."

  • "I am highly recommending you to try this place for lunch, brunch or romantic dinner! the foods is great and if you request early enough for a table with the water view, I am sure you will want to came back anytime you are in Anchorage! New to Alaska but no complain so far!"

  • "My friend and I each ordered the crab and artichoke sandwich at the Alaska Love special price ($9.07). It was delicious and a very good value. We also split a spinach salad and raspberry sorbet. Love the egg mustard dressing on the salad. That dressing is still as good as it was 30 years ago when I first dined at S&S. The sorbet came with a raspberry sauce and was also very flavorful. Great food, excellent service, and views of the inlet, what more could a diner ask for?"

  • "As always, food was great. One order was wrong. Had to be redone, but not in time so got it "to go"."

  • "I knew that taking another couple out for dinner at Simon & Seafort's was not going to be cheap but for $250 I really expected more. Service was good and we were seated almost immediately because we had a reservation. First thing I noticed was the noise level, it was so loud I could barely hear our waiter tell us about that evenings dinner specials. The activity and noise level reminded me more of a bar scene than an upscale fine dining restaurant. The food was average and not outstanding like I had heard from friends. I had the King Salmon which was a bit overdone on one end and under cooked on the other. My wife had the Halibut Cheeks which I tried and I was sorely disappointed. It was overcooked and seemed old to me. Dessert was good."

  • "We were dining with friends who had teenage girls who had never eaten halibut or some of the other items on the menu and the server was very kind to describe each dish. Each dish was excellent."

  • "Whether we were in the lounge waiting to be seated, or when seated at our table, we had a great view of Cook Inlet and Mt. Susitna. We especially enjoyed the opportunity to watch our favorite sports team while in the lounge."

  • " I am lactose intolerant and like to err on the side of caution when ordering food, particularly salad dressing. When I asked for a balsamic dressing instead of a creamy egg dressing, I was told that he did not think it would be a good choice and also did not know if they had balsamic dressing. He ended up just bringing out vinegar. He never asked if we were doing okay and when our food finally showed up, my $40.00 salmon was so under cooked that it was mushy on the inside. After bringing this to our waiter's attention he mumbled something and took it without apologizing. He then did not show up again until bringing our check. The only good thing about our experience at Simon and Seafort's was that he comped my order."

  • "The restaurant itself is gorgeous and the service was amazing! The view is so breathtaking it's enough to go and just have a glass of wine and enjoy the view. The food was slightly disappointing however for what you pay for. My halibut came with coconut rice; the rice was undercooked and crispy. My husband ordered the seafood louie. It came with 1 or 2 items that were not listed on the menu but on the salad and he was not a fan of that. It could just be a personal preference. The salad did have a lot of meat which was great. I was just thinking for the amount of money we spent it was disappointing. We could be willing to give it a second go however."

  • "Great location, view, service. High quality meats and seafood but all a bit old school and boring and not innovative at very high prices. Ok for special occasion but there is much better in Anchorsge."

  • "Some of the freshest seafood I've ever seen. Preparation and presentation were beautiful. Great choices, nice wine list, very interesting appetizers."

  • "We had dinner our second to last night in Alaska. The food and service were outstanding. I couldn't decide between two fish dishes so the waiter recommended half and half and it was perfect. We came back for drinks in the bar the next day and it was great. Beautiful view."

  • "Simon & Seafort's was a recommendation from a bus driver. He was absolutely correct. The food is wonderful and the view was unbelievable. Would recommend very highly the Brie appetizer and the crab stuffed halibut. My dining companion had the halibut cheeks and they received very high marks also. The only detraction from the meal was the coffee. It arrived cold and when replaced, was bitter."

  • "We had the halibut cheeks and the stuffed halibut. Both better than outstanding. Service was exceptional. We had a table with a view of the bay, not great but still a nice ambiance. We would absolutely go back. Pricing inline with find dining and worth it."

  • "I made a reservation, but still had to wait for a seat. On the reservation I asked for a window seat and we were seated in a booth on the opposite side of the room. The food was very good. Excellent! Strawberry Lemonade was the best I have ever had, and the Brie appetizer was amazing. The service was just good, not better than any other restaurant in the city."

  • "The portion sizes have shrunk over the last couple years, and the prices have increased. A $40 steak should take more than 4-5 bites to finish. I should have more than 4 wilted asperigus spears as a side. There's better places to spend $100 in this town. Simons has slipped."

  • "Started with a brie - bigger than expected. Macadamia nut crust was scrumptious, honeyed apples, plum jelly, and chocolate - very nice. The spinach salad was nice and fresh, thought the leaves were mature - no baby green salad here. The bowl of chowder was good-not exceptional, smokey bacon and perfect potatoes would make the chowder a treat on a cold rainy day. The scallops were absolutely divine, nice texture, perfectly cooked, and very nice flavor; and the potatoes and vegetable centerpiece was scrumptious. We left very full even though we shared a single entre."

  • "Been here multiple times normally its the best by far. This time was not the case... I am normally not one to complain but when I am at a high end restaurant I expect perfection and the food wasn't even close to this. I will most likely go back however as I know sometimes it gets to busy and mistakes happen."
    Dined on 6/23/2014
  • "We have eaten here approximately 100 times in the past 16+ years and we've never had a poor meal. Sometimes we have seafood, sometimes steak. We have dined at fine restaurants throughout our travels and we feel fortunate that the best food is at Simon and Seaforts, a short drive from our home."

  • "If in Anchorage this is a place to go that has a bit of everything. The menu has many fresh seafood choices that it is hard to choose what you want to order. I had King Salmon that was seasoned and cooked just right. The vegetables were fresh and not over done. My wifes halibut was also very good. The desserts are ordinary but who cares when you filled up on great fish."
    Dined on 6/22/2014
  • "We were placed in the back and the noise level was so loud we were yelling at each other. There were six of us and service was OK but we had to find the waiter to get orders. He may have had too many tables but we felt slighted. When he did wait on us, he was OK but nothing to talk about. It seemed like he was in a hurry to cover the other tables. The food was good but for the price I would expect that. Parking was validated for 2hours but we were there for 2.5 hours."
    Dined on 6/22/2014
  • "We were first taken to a window table that wasn't next to the water. I saw a two-top that hadn't been cleared yet and asked if we could be seated there and after the table was bussed and washed, we were seated immediately. We had the crab crispy dumplings as an appetizer, they tasted fishy and seemed too brown. We also ordered the king crab. Crab was fine, the potatoes that accompanied the crab were dry and not very tasty. The broccolini was limp and unappetizing looking. I did not bother tasting it. The candles used as a heat source were nearly burned down and did not keep the butter warmed. I also asked our crab legs be cut open for us and not all were, making getting at the crab tiring and difficult. Hostess was scowly and unfriendly."
