I can't wait to go back!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFantasticThis gem in Germantown is so uniquely and consistently good - better than the hype, even. The space is just right - beautiful and relaxing - best lighting in town for any sort of gathering or date. The menu is great - diverse, delicious and forever changing with the seasons. Our newest discovery was the caramel pot de creme with caramel & bacon popcorn - still not over it!! Cocktails and wine list remain outstanding, and the staff is the best in town that we've enjoyed (including the amazing bartenders/mixologists - and that Bourbon collection!!) - Bravo, SILO!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMexcellent restaurantIf you like great food, great service, and great ambiance this is the place for you. In a town with great food, this is at the high level.
And, the owner is very friendly.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day BrunchThe bloody mary mix was amazing! As was the Carrot Soup (soup of the day). The pastry basket was very good, however, a little too sweet, did really enoy the cheddar scones.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFood and service were greatFood and service were great as always. Love that the menu is always changing.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMAmbiance, Food, Service - ExcellentThis was our fourth visit to "Silo" for Sunday brunch. The ambiance is simple, yet refined and comfortable. The pottery used in their serving dishes is simple, yet quite nice. Vases with real flowers is an extra added touch. We have always had excellent service and the food is delicious. This visit I tried the asparagus soup that was awesome and I sent "compliments to the chef".5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWould go again, but tentatively...This is the second time I've been to Silo. The first time would have been five stars all around, but this time the food was a bit so-so. I had the duck and farro, which was pretty good. We had some sides for the table that were lacking. The jalapeno cornbread, for example, was incredibly dry and salty. That said, the service was awesome, and they took care of any issues we had with the food. Will probably go again, but won't be rushing back immediately.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic nightHad a great date night. Our server Anthony was on point and the kitchen put out great food.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMTrendy. Friendly , energeticTrendy. Friendly , energetic service. Very pleasant atmosphere. Thank you!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMthis is 2nd time we have dinedthis is 2nd time we have dined here. this time for dinner the last for brunch. I still have same observations as last time, the food preparation needs some work for me. I like concept of farm to table, but our hangar steak was not cooked as ordered, the asparagus dish was not even cooked and the cornbread was dry. there are lot of great restaurants opening in Nashville and I believe if you plan on competing with prices near $25/ person you must execute. I like ambiance and service was excellent.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMCelebrated my 30th birthday!Celebrated my 30th birthday! It was great. We had awesome service, the food was delicious and we all loved the building and big windows. Loved the drink list and the food was wonderful!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMDon't miss!Excellent restaurant in Germantown. Good wine/beer menu plus a pretty extensive list of specialty drinks (a la Patterson House). Great entree choices--expensive, but the price is worth the food. Open kitchen in the back of the restaurant, really neat wood interior. Don't miss the mac-n-cheese! The only part of the meal (wine, specialty drinks, app, entrees, dessert) that wasn't spectacular was dessert. Will be back soon!4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMDining DelightMy wife and I were visiting from Boston and were looking for fresh Farm to Fork cuisine an found Silo on our search. What a find! The restaurant was very quaint and has outside seating (we sat indoors) at a table for two by a window. Anthony was our server and was fabulous. His knowledge of the food and it's preparation was first class - we really didn't even need to read the menu!! He was gracious and attentive and made our dining a real pleasure. The Hangar Steak was cooked to perfection and the Grouper was great! We have eaten at many Nashville restaurants, but Silo is now at the top of or list!4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMAlthough we had asked forAlthough we had asked for a quiet table, we were seated next to a large large crowd on one side and a very loud table of 4 men on the other. The kitchen, which was our other neighbor, was pretty quiet though.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMThe quality of food, drink,The quality of food, drink, service and ambiance is top notch. Menu is inventive, but approachable; and the results fresh and pleasing. That, combined with the warm and mellow atmosphere make this a new go-to place on our list.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMI took my wife here and itI took my wife here and it was incredible! I had the Hanger steak and she had the risotto, both amazing. The steak was cooked prefectly with so much flavor and i was really surprised at how good the creamed kale was. We got a side of cornbread that was the best i've ever had. The whole dinner put a smile on my face and i was very pleased with everything. For being 'southern cusine' i really couldn't believe they didn't have sweet tea, but oh well. Everything else made up for it. I'll definitely be back.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMExquisite food, atmosphere, serviceWe waited 40 minutes for our table because the people dining ahead of us would not leave despite having finished their dinner before we even arrived. Eventually, the owner asked them to leave. I restaurants that rush you out, but I appreciated that the owner realized he needed to step in. It would have been nice to be offered a free dessert or bottle of wine after that delay, especially since we told them we were celebrating a delayed NYE after one of our group had just returned from an 8-month deployment. Any minor frustration with the delay quickly vanished when we were seated. Every bite of food was perfect. The drinks were great, including a unique sparkling Shiraz. And the server was attentive, friendly, and helpful. Perfect night!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother great meal! StaffAnother great meal! Staff was great and the food was delicious. We'd heard the good reputation this place was creating, and can confirm every bit of it is earned!4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was creative andThe food was creative and inspired! Nothing was the same old thing I've had a hundred times before. The deviled eggs appetizer was my favorite thing. Our server was extremely well versed in the ingredients and preparation of each item on the menu. Her enthusiasm for the food was impressive, and earned.4/11/2013 12:00:00 AMHip, modern and, still somehowHip, modern and, still somehow relaxing, atomosphere and wonderful service in the heart of historic Germantown. The food is great but very rich and sometimes almost too salty (as was the case with the otherwise delicious brussel sprout salad). They make a mean martini!! Silo is definitely worth checking out - don't skip the Mac 'n Cheese!!4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious/Enjoyable Sunday BrunchWe were very pleased with our two (so far) visits to Silo for Sunday brunch. The restaurant has a good atmosphere with excellent service both times. There is "breathing room" between tables, making for comfortable seating and ability to carry on conversation. The food we've had has been very good - - will order again (Chicken and Waffle, Your Way Omelette, French Toast,Shrimp and Grits). The coffee is excellent as well.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMOur server Meghan was fantastic. Our server Meghan was fantastic. Food and service were outstanding. Great example of farm to fork. Yum yum.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMBrunch-Excellence!Sunday Bruch was excellent. I had Shrimp and Grits and can't wait to order again.
The dish was not spicy but tasted fresh and so flavorful.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was my first time toThis was my first time to Silo and I didn't know what to expect. The food was seriously some of the best I have ever had. I ordered the blackened grouper, which was excellent. However, I thought the sides were the best part of the meal. We had the greens, cornbread, and macaroni and cheese. I am still dreaming about that macaroni and cheese....it was AMAZING. Good job, Silo!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMI loved the ambiance, theI loved the ambiance, the food, the drinks, our waitress!! Everything was incredible!!! We will definitely come back!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMGet your reservations early!Get your reservations early! With so many new restaurants in Nashville, it's hard to stand apart. Silo has it all; great service, awesome menu and very good food. I was entertaining out-of-town clients and we put them on their plane with full bellies and smiles on their faces. Thanks Silo!3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst time there. WonderfulFirst time there. Wonderful service, nice ambiance, very contemporary. Very enjoyable; I will be back.
Jim Harris3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMAll it was cracked up to beI had heard very good things about Silo from my foodie friends. I dine out often and the meal lived up to the rave reviews. The farm to fork menu is wonderful. Entre prices were less than I expected, yet everything on the menu is fresh and nearly all is grown locally. The wine list is interesting, unusual and there are many reasonably priced options. The bar menu is speak easy style and the bartenders seem to enjoy a challenge. My Negroni was perfect. Our server was knowledgeable about every item on the menu and every bottle of wine. Silo is as good as any casual eatery in Nashville. I look forward to returning.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMVery nice restaurant. FoodVery nice restaurant. Food was excellent and staff was very friendly. One person in our party did not eat her dessert which was noticed by the waiter. She asked the person if she did not like the dessert who replied "it wasn't what I thought it would be". Without hesitation, the waiter said she would take it off of the bill. Classy move!3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMI met four friends there forI met four friends there for brunch and, I must say, it was delightful! The service was impecable but not stuffy. We were never made to feel we needed to rush and our server was very helpful in describing the Sunday brunch entrees. The food was delightful without being too hidden in spices and sauces. I had the chicken and waffles and the chicken was tender and meaty with just a hint of spice and the waffles had just the right amount of bourbon and orange glazed syrup as to make them tasty but not smothered in syrup like some places that try to pull this off and attempt to fool you with too sweet syrup. I'm so glad Nashville now has this gem to offer! I can't wait to try this place out for dinner.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMFood, service and atmosphereFood, service and atmosphere all Very Good! Recommend to all.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic Southern farm to forkSilo is one of my favorite restaurants in Nashville - farm to fork southern dining with a menu printed daily. Love the unique dishes and great place to bring out of towners for some great local fare. Our server was very knowledgeable, the only reason I didn't give outstanding is she didn't come by quite often enough, and the bartender didn't know how to make a Dark & Stormy. Ambiance is good - not amazing detail like some Nashville restaurants, but clean lines and nice lighting. Patio will be good in the summer months, can't wait for that.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing Brunch!!What a revelation - really! We loved everything about our recent brunch at SILO - amazing bloody mary with pickled grapes (!!), sweet & savory pastry basket, the best shrimp & grits I've ever had - and the house-made Sunday sausage was OUTSTANDING. The restaurant's atmosphere is so pleasant - the architecture, lighting, music - and our server was very helpful and fun. We have already made our reservation to return for dinner this week (can't wait to see that space at night) . . . SILO is instantly our new favorite restaurant in town.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMMy experience was exceptional. My experience was exceptional. It is very clear that Silo carefully sources their ingredients. Every dish was flavorful, seasonal, and extremely well-prepared. My family is of Louisiana Creole descent, and the Shrimp Étouffée was not only phenomenal, but also authentic! Thank you for an excellent meal!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMSilo is my new favorite placeSilo was wonderful. The fried brussel sprout salad is the best interpretation I've ever experienced of my favorite vegetable. I can't wait for my next visit. The space is imaginative and beautiful. Our server was charming and knowledgeable. My husband agrees, and he's a very tough one to win over!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMbetter every timeI went back for the hot chicken and cheese grits but they were not on the menu any longer. That's the way it is with farm to fork. I got a wedge salad (softest, crisp fresh definitely not iceberg lettuce with parsnips and yummy creamy dressing) followed by the mushroom risotto with chevre. Lovely glass of Rioja to round out the meal and shared a salted carmel chess pie for dessert. Whew! great meal. Every table was taken, the food gets better every time, better get a reservation!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMI don't like brussel sprouts,I don't like brussel sprouts, but Silo has the best brussel sprouts in TN. Waitress was helpful with menu and made great recommendations. Mac and cheese was amazing; I like the concept behind Silo - using local products to make great meals.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AM
