Only feedback I would give is that I ordered Starter of baby greens and was served iceberg lettuce wedges. Would not have ordered that.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat apps and dessertSo, this was our first time at Silo. Overall, we thought it was great. Especially notable was the Noble Farms goat cheese appetizer and the banana pudding. My entree of gulf shrimp and my husband's of rabbit were fine, not fantastic. We will give it another try.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGREAT NEW SPOTSILO IS RELATIVELY NEW TO NASHVILLE AND HAS BECOME A "PLACE TO GO" IN A SHORT TIME. IT'S A LIVELY, FUN PLACE WHERE THE ATMOSPHERE IS ELECTRIC, THE FOOD GOOD, AND THE SERVICE FRIENDLY AND EFFICIENT.WE HAD THEIR HUGE BURGERS AND YUMMY MAC AND CHEESE--GREAT FUN AND A GOOD PLACE TO RELAX WITH A DRINK AND VISIT WITH FRIENDS.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMperfectverything was perfect- great drinks, the mac and cheese and greens were the best i have EVER had, and the Chicken-fried rabbit was delectable. The portions were healthy enough-and we knew this ahead of time luckily- that my wife and I ordered two sides and one entree and had enough food leftover to feast for lunch the next day. AND they have very fresh creative drinks, including the most delicious old-fashioned Ive ever tasted. We got out of there with a ton of leftovers and didnt break the bank.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was delicious butThe food was delicious but a tad bit on the salty side6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMWowWe travel 10-12 times per year to most major American and also international destinations. Paul Cercone was a gracious host. The food was incredibly fresh. The vegetarian dish (I am not a vegetarian) was so irresistible, I had to have it. It's taste was beyond delicious and fresh. What an amazing take on local southern cuisine. Kudos to an incredible bunch of artists. You certainly fit into the artistic scene in Nashville! Vivienne & Gary5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was my second time toThis was my second time to dine at Silo. The food was very good and the service impeccable.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMBirthday Dinner - Great ServiceI made a trip home to Nashville for my birthday last weekend and based on the recommendation of a friend, decided to check out Silo for dinner.
The restaurant is a comfortable size with an open and inviting, yet cozy feel. We were seated at one end of a long table that was set for a party of 4 at each end...a seating concept I have always enjoyed!
Our server, Megan, was prompt, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. She described the menu, beers on tap, and specialty cocktails in detail and with great enthusiasm. I enjoyed the Eastsider (a lovely gin cocktail). The asparagus soup was delicious. My entree: duck breast with farro piccolo and swiss chard was good although overcooked, buttermilk mac-n-cheese was PHENOMENAL! I will be back.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful flavorsEverything we ordered, from appetizers to desert, had fabulous flavors and everything was perfectly done. I got shrimp in my entree and they were wonderful, as shrimp can easily be chewy. The portions were quite large, especially the sides. We had to take home a box too because there was so much! Also the service was great, super super attentive! Loved it and will be back.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMThe jury is still outOur group of 4 enjoyed 1st Silo experience. The décor/ambience is very good. Menu has something for everyone. I had the cobia which was good. For me "Hanger" translates to "cheap cut" steak but the diner who ordered this had no complaints. Appetizers/side dishes were good/shareable. Try the chartuterie (ancient techniques for processing meat). Single malt scotches produced a mild surprise when the check arrived. Why not just list the price on the menu? Also, I invested time looking at the menu online before arrival, only to see changes when seated. Why not upload the daily menu to web site? I will likely return for brunch or sit at the bar for the limited but more affordable bar food. Valet parking is a plus in rapidly growing Germantown.5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat evening! We enjoyed our dinner...and the drink menu is excellent! Good vibe...will definitely return and recommend.5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMNot what you would expectThe food is delicious. But I was under the impression it was Southern food. I was born and raised in the South, and this is not what I would define as Southern food. It's good, but I felt I didn't belong there. I felt like I should have had my pinky finger up the whole time.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat findWe found Silo thru Open Table when we were hotelling in the suburbs. Well worth the Memorial weekend traffic. Friendly staff, gregarious guests, and wonderful food and wine choices. Best hanger steak ever, spouse's fish was light, flaky and served with great sides (my garlic steamed spinach and small potatoes were also special). Highly recommended.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMTop Ten experienceWe had our young adult children out to celebrate being together. The evening was a hit with all from the wait staff (Jeff) to the delicious food options. Every dish had it's unique explosion of flavor. Portion sizes were appropriate, decor tasteful and menu offerings pushed all to experience new food flavors.5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMSilo does a great job. TheySilo does a great job. They tout themselves as farm to table, which is trendy now, but they truly are and the freshness and quality of the food confirms it.
Service was excellent and the space is quite nice, laid back with a nice bar and a small patio.
The menu changes almost daily but we had the Corvina, it was excellent, and also the pork chop, which was really good, and another diner had the shrimp, which was great.
All in all a place I would definitely return.5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMA wonderful surpriseI was a little worried as the taxi drove through a rundown area is Nashville just outdide of downtown. But hidden on the edge of an area being reclaimed is this gem. It is a farm to fork concept that hits the mark. With an ever changing menu I am not sure you can get the same thing on different visits, however the pork chop and the shrimp were excellent. The menu is great for foodies with plenty of interesting combinations.
The wine list is above average and their bourbon selection is outstanding.
Service was excellent and the deserts were a perfect end to a great experience.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful. Ate outside onWonderful. Ate outside on gorgeous night. Waiter was excellent. Asked our names and used thm the rest of the night. Food was excellent.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMLove this place! This was my 3rd time at Silo. Each time has been unique and wonderful. I love that the menu changes but never disappoints.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was my second trip toThis was my second trip to Silo. Both times were very good. Side dishes are enormous and must be shared. You can easily split them 3-4 ways with sizable portions. I have the Hanger steak this time, the burger last time. Both were very good. We have had the Mac and Cheese, Potatoe Salad and Greens as sides and they are all excellent.
In and out you will typically drop $50 a head, but for $16 you can have the burger so it does not have to be expensive.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMEdible ArtMy husband and I went here for Mother's Day. What a treat! The presentation is is absolutely beautiful and the food itself is magnificent. And The martinis? Oh boy! WhAt a treat! The is for the adventurous eater and for those enjoy the art of food.
I can't wait to go back!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFantasticThis gem in Germantown is so uniquely and consistently good - better than the hype, even. The space is just right - beautiful and relaxing - best lighting in town for any sort of gathering or date. The menu is great - diverse, delicious and forever changing with the seasons. Our newest discovery was the caramel pot de creme with caramel & bacon popcorn - still not over it!! Cocktails and wine list remain outstanding, and the staff is the best in town that we've enjoyed (including the amazing bartenders/mixologists - and that Bourbon collection!!) - Bravo, SILO!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMexcellent restaurantIf you like great food, great service, and great ambiance this is the place for you. In a town with great food, this is at the high level.
And, the owner is very friendly.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day BrunchThe bloody mary mix was amazing! As was the Carrot Soup (soup of the day). The pastry basket was very good, however, a little too sweet, did really enoy the cheddar scones.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFood and service were greatFood and service were great as always. Love that the menu is always changing.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMAmbiance, Food, Service - ExcellentThis was our fourth visit to "Silo" for Sunday brunch. The ambiance is simple, yet refined and comfortable. The pottery used in their serving dishes is simple, yet quite nice. Vases with real flowers is an extra added touch. We have always had excellent service and the food is delicious. This visit I tried the asparagus soup that was awesome and I sent "compliments to the chef".5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWould go again, but tentatively...This is the second time I've been to Silo. The first time would have been five stars all around, but this time the food was a bit so-so. I had the duck and farro, which was pretty good. We had some sides for the table that were lacking. The jalapeno cornbread, for example, was incredibly dry and salty. That said, the service was awesome, and they took care of any issues we had with the food. Will probably go again, but won't be rushing back immediately.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic nightHad a great date night. Our server Anthony was on point and the kitchen put out great food.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMTrendy. Friendly , energeticTrendy. Friendly , energetic service. Very pleasant atmosphere. Loved the drink list and the food was wonderful!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMDon't miss!Excellent restaurant in Germantown. Good wine/beer menu plus a pretty extensive list of specialty drinks (a la Patterson House). Great entree choices--expensive, but the price is worth the food. Open kitchen in the back of the restaurant, really neat wood interior. Don't miss the mac-n-cheese! The only part of the meal (wine, specialty drinks, app, entrees, dessert) that wasn't spectacular was dessert. Will be back soon!4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMDining DelightMy wife and I were visiting from Boston and were looking for fresh Farm to Fork cuisine an found Silo on our search. What a find! The restaurant was very quaint and has outside seating (we sat indoors) at a table for two by a window. Anthony was our server and was fabulous. His knowledge of the food and it's preparation was first class - we really didn't even need to read the menu!! He was gracious and attentive and made our dining a real pleasure. The Hangar Steak was cooked to perfection and the Grouper was great! We have eaten at many Nashville restaurants, but Silo is now at the top of or list!4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMAlthough we had asked forAlthough we had asked for a quiet table, we were seated next to a large large crowd on one side and a very loud table of 4 men on the other. The kitchen, which was our other neighbor, was pretty quiet though.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMThe quality of food, drink,The quality of food, drink, service and ambiance is top notch. Menu is inventive, but approachable; and the results fresh and pleasing. That, combined with the warm and mellow atmosphere make this a new go-to place on our list.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMI took my wife here and itI took my wife here and it was incredible! I had the Hanger steak and she had the risotto, both amazing. The steak was cooked prefectly with so much flavor and i was really surprised at how good the creamed kale was. We got a side of cornbread that was the best i've ever had. The whole dinner put a smile on my face and i was very pleased with everything. For being 'southern cusine' i really couldn't believe they didn't have sweet tea, but oh well. Everything else made up for it. I'll definitely be back.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMExquisite food, atmosphere, serviceWe waited 40 minutes for our table because the people dining ahead of us would not leave despite having finished their dinner before we even arrived. Eventually, the owner asked them to leave. I restaurants that rush you out, but I appreciated that the owner realized he needed to step in. It would have been nice to be offered a free dessert or bottle of wine after that delay, especially since we told them we were celebrating a delayed NYE after one of our group had just returned from an 8-month deployment. Any minor frustration with the delay quickly vanished when we were seated. Every bite of food was perfect. The drinks were great, including a unique sparkling Shiraz. And the server was attentive, friendly, and helpful. Perfect night!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother great meal! StaffAnother great meal! Staff was great and the food was delicious. We'd heard the good reputation this place was creating, and can confirm every bit of it is earned!4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was creative andThe food was creative and inspired! Nothing was the same old thing I've had a hundred times before. The deviled eggs appetizer was my favorite thing. Our server was extremely well versed in the ingredients and preparation of each item on the menu. Her enthusiasm for the food was impressive, and earned.4/11/2013 12:00:00 AMHip, modern and, still somehowHip, modern and, still somehow relaxing, atomosphere and wonderful service in the heart of historic Germantown. The food is great but very rich and sometimes almost too salty (as was the case with the otherwise delicious brussel sprout salad). They make a mean martini!! Silo is definitely worth checking out - don't skip the Mac 'n Cheese!!4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious/Enjoyable Sunday BrunchWe were very pleased with our two (so far) visits to Silo for Sunday brunch. The restaurant has a good atmosphere with excellent service both times. There is "breathing room" between tables, making for comfortable seating and ability to carry on conversation. The food we've had has been very good - - will order again (Chicken and Waffle, Your Way Omelette, French Toast,Shrimp and Grits). The coffee is excellent as well.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMOur server Meghan was fantastic. Our server Meghan was fantastic. Food and service were outstanding. Great example of farm to fork.
