Diner Reviews
  • "While the food at Silo is not absolutely at the pinnacle of haute cuisine, it's not meant to be. The menu is very ambitious in that they really try to co me up with some interesting "takes" on southern food. They use locally-sourced ingredients that are prepared thoughtfully. The dining room is very pleasant and our server was as nice as could be. Silo is in a quiet neighborhood away from the tourist hubs in Nashville. I highly recommend Silo!"

  • "First visit to Silo was a great one. The wife and I met the in-laws for Brunch, which we do fairly often. I chose Silo to try something new and different and we were not disappointed. From the muffins and stuffed eggs to the Siko skillet and French toast everything was fresh and delicious."

  • "Silo was a great find. Although the menu is minimal, there is a good variety of very appealing options and everything we ate was delicious. The shrimp and grits had just the right amount of heat. The hangar steak was cooked perfectly. Great selection of sides, my daughter had the mac and cheese, which was creamy and delicious. The desserts were especially delicious, we shared the blueberry mousse cheesecake with fresh blueberries and the poundcake with fresh peaches and peach sorbet. Everyone was very friendly and the service was great. The atmosphere was inviting, you could tell Silo has a "regular" crowd. If I lived in Nashville, I would be regular!"

  • "Went here for a date night with my husband. We are both big foodies. Loved the ambiance! Service was excellent! Patrick was our server. He was very knowledgeable on the food. Had great reccomendations. Overall the food was very good. Got the spare ribs as a starter. They were excellent! The best thing we ordered. My husband got the hot chicken. Wow! We love spicy and this chicken was probably the hottest thing I've ever tasted! It was too hot for me to eat. My husband ate it, but his eyes were watering and nose running the whole time! I got the cheeseburger. It was very good. The fries were good, but a little too greasy for me. Also shared the Mac and cheese. It was amazing! So overall food was very good. Would definitely go back."

  • "I went to Silo with my son who will be attending graduate school at Vanderbilt this year. He loves hot, spicy food. Well, he met his match with the hot chicken. However, he ate it all, except for the excessive fried coating. It was so hot that when he tasted the cooked greens he asked me to try it to see if it, too, was hot because he couldn't tell after his mouth was burning. It was a little spicy, but not overly so. I had the chicken confit which was excellent--very moist and tender. The drippings covering the vegetables under the chicken were extra buttery/oily so I had to wipe off the vegetables on the edge of the plate. The cornbread was outstanding. The heirloom tomato salad was excellent."

  • "Our brunch started with a bloody mary - very tasty, if a bit on the spicy side for some. The chilled cantaloupe soup was an interesting first course - definitely want to get a little of the lime oil in each taste to balance out the smoke flavor. Two of the "3 ways" deviled eggs were a hit - the third (peanut butter) was on the spicy side. Entrée selections are on the heavy side. French toast was "perfect"; pulled pork eggs benedict were good but not better than regular eggs benedict; scrambled eggs were good; hot chicken sliders were plenty hot, but not very flavorful. The Benton's bacon was outstanding! :-)"

  • "My wife and I spent the weeken in Nashville for our anniversary and used open table reviews to select our dining spots. Silo was fantastic. From the fresh new building, service and food was great. As a bourbon lover there is a long list to select from. For dinner my wife had the trout and I had the pork chop, terrific! I also recommend adding a side of mac n cheese. If your looking for a great spot to enjoy any occasion I highly suggest Silo."

  • "Menu is creative without being over the top. Every bite of every course was delicious. We shared three different desserts and each was to-die-for. Great service and nice atmosphere."

  • "I selected Silo for foods prepared with a southern flavor to share our hospitality with French Canadians. It was fun, delicious, and the Mac & Cheese their favorite"

  • "Silo met my expecitations, I had heard the food was very good and it was. I had the Hanger steak with a side of greens, it was delicious and the service was excellent. I highly recommend an evening out at Silo."

  • "Let me start off by saying the restaurant itself is really cool! I could imagine it being a great spot to grab a drink, however the food was disappointing. We have been for dinner and although we left underwhelmed, we decided to give Silo another chance and went for brunch. Once again the atmosphere and restaurant was great, but the food was just ok. The omlette I had was pretty good, however all the other dishes we ordered, not so much. The cinnamon roll and the French toast were as hard as a rock and lacked any flavor. The eggs Benedict was also just ok and the croque madam was mainly just bread. It's a shame the food dorsnt compare with the ambience of the place."

  • "My boyfriend and I were visiting Nashville for the 4th of July weekend, and this was our last stop before heading home. All was well until my boyfriend, gluten intolerant, asked for a sample of the pimento cheese that is served with their Croque Monsieur. He was willing to pay whatever the cost may be, it didn't matter. The server came back a few minutes after we placed our order and told us that the chef was unable to serve just the pimento cheese...what? No further explanation provided. It was an uncomfortable situation. The server ended up bringing the cheese, which was delish, but the whole meal, it just felt like we had done something wrong...Of the restaurants we dined at, this was our least favorite. Husk, Bob's, Etch, Kayne."

  • "Silo once again hit it out of the park. Hanger steak was excellent, sides were some of the best I've ever had (Mac/cheese & cornbread). Must try the burger next time my daughter said it was great! Silo is one of my favorite places in Nashville."

  • "In Germantown, comfortable in design with a southern inspired menu . Well balanced menu with ample portions using farm to table components. Huge side portions, [ the mac and cheese could feed 4 ] Everything was delicious , with great attentive service."

  • "Enjoyed a great meal at Silo last Wednesday night! The bartender (Anthony?) is very friendly and made us some delicious drinks. Our waitress stopped around just enough and made some excellent dinner reservations. We shared the bone marrow and the deviled egg apps. Both delicious, highly recommend. I thoroughly enjoyed the shrimp and grits while my friend enjoyed the chicken. Will definitely go back."

  • "We had a very nice dinner at Silo. The food was amazing and service was great. The bartender was able to make a fantastic non-alcoholic cocktail for me (I am pregnant so I can't have alcohol but still wanted something fun to drink). We had the ribs and deviled eggs as appetizers, both very good and shrimp and grits as a main course which were delicious!"

  • "Silo is one of our fav Nashville eateries. The menu is well thought out and very creative. The local farm to table philosophy and execution is impressive. Thanks"

  • "The vibe of the place was nice and I appreciate the farm to table concept, however the food was very average. Against stiff completion from the multitude of restaurants popping up in Nashville, Silo falls short."

  • "I came to silo for my first time for brunch and I was super impressed. The atmosphere was great, and our server, Megan, went above and beyond to make sure we had the best experience. I must warn all if you that the hot chicken has ghost pepper in the sauce -- not for everyone! But I loved it. Thanks to the bartender as well, who made me a fresh lemonade on demand. I will be back!"

  • "Beautiful restaurant with spectacular service and amazing food. You really feel like home here - every member of their staff makes sure of that. We loved everything we had for brunch - pulled pork benedict w/ jalapeno hollandaise, french toast with vanilla bourbon syrup, house-made sausage - and bloody mary's, of course. The music and festive atmosphere topped off the experience . . . A+!"

  • "In a ity where if you are not brand new, you can be overlooked, our experience at Silo was outstanding! Food, service, and atmosphere was excellent. Interesting menu items - something for everyone. Sorry it took so long for me to get here, but worth the wait."

  • "Awesome service, amazing food. This was a great anniversary dinner spot for my husband and me. Our only regret was not being able to try every item on the menu. Fantastic spot in Germantown to savor southern food at it's finest."

  • "While vacationing in Nashville we were told Silo was a great place to eat. We are so happy we decided to have dinner there. Our waitress was so efficient and helpful. She explained the menu and answered all of our questions. The shrimp and grits were the best we had during our stay in Nashville and the custard with bacon popcorn was such a pleasant surprise. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a fun night out and excellant food."

  • "Urban, modern, chic decor but casual and comfortable. Props to Lauren who gets server of the month award. Perfect attention, not overbearing, and offered wonderful suggestions. They offered a wonderful hamburger at $16. It was delicious and was worth almost $16 (which is to say you should try it, but no hamburger is worth $16). Also try bacon caramel popcorn. Nice cocktail menu to boot! Only downside was pork chop was WAY overcooked. Did not bring it up to wait staff as I am sure we would have eaten the replacement and we were stuffed!"

  • "I booked Silo for our son's birthday because he wanted to try it. My husband whined about going somewhere new. He got the hanger steak enjoyed the appetizers, sides and desserts and left with a smile on his face."

  • "Loved our farm to table meal. We started with the strawberry gazpacho and it was fantastic. My wife had the hanger steak and it was cook perfectly to her liking (med rare). She loved it. And I got the hot chicken with the hot on the side. It was still too got for me but they have a homemade hot sauce that remains on the table and was the perfect spice level for me. It's a must go!"

  • "The food was great. All four of us enjoyed our meals. The deviled eggs were especially delicious, and the gluten free muffins were fantastic. Great omelets etc… Amanda was our Server. She was very kind and super efficient. It was another great meal. Thank you."

  • "Our first time at Silo. Drinks were refreshing, unique, and generous although somewhat pricey. Pork belly pate was interesting but would not order again. Both of us had the shrimp and grits and were pleased. Cornbread was wonderful, and the greens were very good. Generous serving for two people, could easily serve up to four. Caramel parfait with caramel bacon popcorn was excellent. Great combination of sweet and salty. Service was very good. Overall, wonderful meal. Hope to return soon."

  • "We went with another couple for the first time to this restaurant. We both had a great time! The drinks and food were delicious. The only thing I would say us that the Hot Chicken is not just a little spicy. ITS REALLY Burning HOT!!! Would definitely go back though."

  • "We went to Silo with great expectations, but we were disappointed that the food was just average. We had the devilled eggs for appetizer, and only one of the three were wonderful...the rest were average. We had the hanger steak as an entrée, and it was OK, but was no better than others we have had elsewhere. We sat outside and that was fine, but a loud table at the other end made it less enjoyable, and then the wind came up and started blowing things around. As I have said, it was just OK."

  • "Everything about Silo can only be described as outstanding...the warm welcome, the menu selections, the preparation and presentation of the orders, and the attentive service. We look forward to dining there often in the future."
