  • "My husband and I went for dinner at Signature Cafe. The food was awesome. Michael had the ribs which were cooked with such flavor and the vegies were great. I had the Rossito with Salmon. Loved how the salmon was cooked and it was perfect. Rossito alone was yummy. We then had the Bread Pudding. Topped off our night. Our server made our evening lovely. Can't wait to return."

  • "Nice ambiance when we arrived (white linens, wood, attentive server) but disappointed with the fare. Small portions for the price and nothing "popped" in terms of flavor. The cafe's "Signature 5-onion soup" was explained as "sweeter than French Onion." It was actually on the sour side with no driving flavor. Greek salad : bagged greens with kalamata & feta. No other veggies. Server defended it by saying "we use REALLY GOOD kalamata olives, though." Caesar salad - bland. Could have made both of these at home and not paid $10 each. Strange, runny tart hummus. Pulled pork sandwich: tasty, but we avoid wheat. It would have been good on greens, but the restaurant does not accommodate substitutions other than the type of bun or wrap."

  • "I was a little worried about how small the family style brunch servings were at first...they were all beautiful and very tasty - but tiny. It tuned out that I was actually too full to enjoy the last course! My husband benefitted. :-) Lovely brunch - gorgeous presentation."

  • "Trying to find an independent restaurant with good food that is conveniently in-between the two downtowns? Look no further than this small restaurant on a residential street with easy access from I-94 or Hwy 280. Nicely prepared scallops, great roasted vegies and warm bread made for a delicious meal on a blustery night. Reasonably priced wine list, too."

  • "Signatures new owners have not only continued the excellent service and food of Signature's founders. The Valentines Day four course menu offered choices that allowed varied tastes to find excellent combinations. The execution was exceptional. The only weakness was the shrimp cocktail which used very small shrimp. The warm olives with feta cheese and caramelized onions with goat cheese starters were amazing. The beet and carrot salad and seafood bisque were excellent. The cornish game was extremely well prepared and presented. The deserts were at the same high standard. The wine flights from starter to desert were well chosen and a uniform high quality. Signature has added an espresso machine which made a perfect conclusion."

  • "This place was booked for Valentine's Day (hint) so we went the night before. With only a handful of people there our dining was private and quiet. Otherwise with spacing very tight it might have not been quite so romantic. It is located in a quiet, charming neighborhood. The gluten-free food was exquisite! We had roasted duck leg comfit that melted in your mouth with sides of a risotto that had butternut squash, dried tomatoes and kale along with roasted root veggies for me and sauteed greens for my hubby. We did not order wine on this occasion so I can not comment on them but do know they have a wide selection. The server was very congenial and knowledgeable. It is above our normal price range but we will return for special occasions."

  • "The food was lick-your-plate good. The server was knowledgeable, friendly, easy to engage, and accessible. Our group of old friends chose this restaurant because we wanted to enjoy an evening where we could talk over great food and wine and easily hear each other. It wasn't a busy night, but when it is, the ambience is still very good. Their "I Fed" social justice commitment is an added plus."

  • "Signature is one of our favorite restaurants, and dinner on New Year's Eve was excellent. It was a four-course tasting menu (three choices for each course) with wine parings. So, between the two of us we were able to sample eight dishes and eight wines. All were excellent! We especially appreciate their attention to dietary restrictions -- in my case, gluten. In fact, Tuesday evenings typically are totally gluten-free."

  • "I love the neighborhood feel of this restaurant, since indeed it is in the middle of a residential neighborhood. It reminds me of the town and neighborhood I grew up in. I was disappointed in the service. We were the last group to come in for lunch and it took a long time to get our food. We were not offered bread or anything else during our wait and because we came in at 1:00 p.m. we were quite hungry. We got our meals nearly 40 minutes after our arrival. On a positive note, the food was good. The duck bacon BLT was very tasty and something I've not had before. Two of my companions had the hummus which was passable, abeit more garlicky than they were used to. Another companion had the crab cake sandwich which garnered no comment."

  • "Unfortunately, we have been big fans of Signature...but it is not the same. The cooking is very basic & uninspired--neither very good nor very bad. Simple, without great flavor and served in a perfunctory manner. I hope Derik, the new owner can find a way to improve upon, or at minimum, keep the "old " Signature spirit alive."

  • "Casual, friendly restaurant. Caters to small discerning patrons of fine dining in a generally moderately quiet setting. Server was excellent, well acquainted with the menu. Offered excellent information about dishes available. Very helpful. Chef was creative and provided a dish that was modified from the menu offering, that we thought was better than what was listed. The owner/manager Derek ( I think that was his name) was very helpful in helping me correct an error with the billing. He was genuinely concerned and immediately responded to help it get corrected. We have eaten at this restaurant about 4 times now and have been very pleased each time."

  • "The tasting menu began with "Crostini with Red Onion Jam and Gruyere Cheese". We received two slices of toasted sandwich bread topped with red onions and just a few flecks of cheese. The "Green Tomato Soup with Chorizo Sausage" is best described as a green tomato being squashed into lumpy sauce and placed in a ramekin, one tsp of sausage put on top and then everything microwaved until boiling. "Chicken a la King over Rice". The rice was still hard and covered in a creamy alfredo-esque sauce that had 4 oz of reheated chicken cubes, 1/2 mushroom & a speckling of pepper and onion. There was no real food content. What I can best compare it to is a Michelina's Lean Gourmet entree - you know those frozen meals that are always 5/$5?"

  • "This small restaurant on a residential block is such a hidden treasure! The food is beautifully prepared and care is taken with presentation. The chef will usually make a personal visit to the dining room to be sure that all is well. The house-made breads are wonderful! Save room for dessert!"

  • "The atmosphere and menu were great. I was expecting a lot more out of the food. I had the salmon. It wasn't prepared how I requested and it was very fishy tasting. The roasted red potatoes were crunchy due to undercooking. I had really high hopes but was disappointed!"

  • "Paella was out of this world! So hard to choose with such yummy things on the menu. This is now one of my go to places. On a side note, I have Celiac and need gluten free food. This place is a find. After I was diagnosed, I had to always find the one GF thing on the menu and not worry so much about what sounded yummy. Here? Everything can be made GF. An incredible delight."

  • "Had an opportunity to go to Signature cafe for a 5 course meal featuring the foods and wines of Portugal and Spain. The wines were all very good, and matched the food well. Paella was the best course. Pork was over done."
