A word from Sierra Bonita Grill
The Sierra Bonita Grill is named after the historic Sierra Bonita Ranch in South Eastern Arizona. Founded by Henry Hooker in 1872, the Sierra Bonita Ranch was known for it’s hospitality and innovative ranching methods. We would like to celebrate the spirit represented by Mr. Hooker and other pioneer ranches throughout Arizona with our restaurant and hope to continue the tradition of great food and hospitality. Our menu reflects the hearty cooking style of Southern Arizona ranches, many of which were started by Spanish and Mexican families. We will continue to explore the ongoing Mexican and Latin influences on this area’s culture and food. Patio seating available to accommodate 30 people.Continued

  • "Great food and wine. Wine list is a little short but has good options. Kids options are short too (no menu but has about 5 options and willing to make something work). Waitress was very good."

  • "Sierra Bonita has considerable charm, especially the back room with fireplace. The food is reliably good, not outstanding, Southwestern/Mexican style. Service is good and very friendly. This is a "homey" place and will remain on our list to visit regularly."

  • "Made a last-minute reservation and got there a few minutes late. The ta ble was ready and we were greeted with a smile. The food was excellent - well prepared, well presented, and very flavorful. There was a person in our group who needed gluten-free options and the server was very knowledgeable about that. They did make a mistake on the drink order, but other than that and a little too much attentoin from the server, it was fine. I'd definitely go back."

  • "We have eaten here every time we come to Phoenix for the last four years. The food is always excellent. The service is also very good. We love this place!"

  • "This was our fourth visit to sierra Bonita in 2 months and it was just as wonderful as the first visit. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. The pork osso bucco is fantastic. The green chili sauce alone is worth ordering this dish. The pasta dish was a combination of flavors that had me yumming it up. Definitely order Kenny's margaritas! Service is always friendly and efficient. We like the outdoor area and the bartenders wait on you. Not always a good thing but here we have been well cared for and entertained."

  • "We went in celebration of a special event. Two of the three diners had never eaten at Sierra Bonita and thoroughly enjoyed their experience. I was very pleased my recommendation turned out so well which I felt it would. With a varied menu, welcoming atmosphere and delicious cuisine how could they not enjoy. We each had a different entree and shared bites for a delicious experience. Green pork, wild fish and clams, and chocolate expresso glazed pork loin were our choices.Wow! Delicious. Ambience I.e. Light and noise level ideal for quiet conversation and coherent celebration. Thank you!"

  • "It is easy to drive by Sierra Bonita and not even see it, but you shouldn't. It has limited parking, but when it is crowded there is a valet to park. The food has a southwest feel and ranges from sandwiches and burgers on to Buttermilk Chicken and Carne Asada to steaks and seafood. I had fish tacos made with grouper. Save room for the buttermilk pie."

  • "I have been meaning to try this place, so when I saw a reservation time open for 10pm on a late dinner night, I booked it fight away. When we got there the manager informed us that the internet was wrong, the kitchen closed at ten, but if we could order promptly, he would hold the kitchen open for us. We had guacamole and fundito, both amazing. Their burgers and carne asada were some of the best we have ever had. We will be back and soon!"

  • "The food was excellent and the service attentive, we will definitely go back. A little noisy but the food was worth it."

  • "The restaurant seemed nice enough upon entering, but when our food came it tasted unseasoned and bland. The queso fundido appetizer was not served hot enough, so we had to tear the cheese apart with knives to get it onto our chips. The espresso rubbed pork tasted simply like pork cooked without spice or flavor. The service was also slow for a Monday night. I would not return, as it simply isn't worth the money. I was surprised by the good amount of reviews this restaurant has, as the food is really just simple and not at all unique."

  • "We were looking to have some authentic Southwestern food with Red and Green chili while we were in town for a conference. Sierra Bonita did not disappoint. I had the Pork Osso Buco which was wonderful. The pork was extremely tender and the flavors were excellent. My wife had the Carne Asada which she said was quite good. The area around the restaurant looked a little industrial so it concerned us a little walking in, but the restaurant itself had a warm rustic elegance to it. The staff were great. You need to come hungry, the portions are large, especially if coupled with appetizers. The prices were very reasonable."

  • "Kick back, the staff was great about recommending the specialties of the house, and they were wonderful. Patio is a bit closed in but not worth quibbling over. We plan to return again and again."

  • "This was our third special occasion visit. Seating was timely. Greeting was friendly. Waitress was very knowledgeable of options and made great suggestions. Salmon with mussels and clams, buttermilk chicken and pork osso buco were all wonderful. Wine bottle special was a positive touch."

  • "Service was prompt and courteous. Food was good. Prices are a little high for how casual the atmosphere seemed to be. But I eould return and would recommend to others."

  • "Best southwest meal we have had in Phoenix. From the smooth fresh squeezed margarita, to the creamy guacamole,to our entrees of Buttermilk chicken and carne asada, everything was excellent. Just sorry we didn't have room for dessert!"

  • "Sierra Bonita is always a good choice for lunch, with daily lunch specials and a menu of favorites, it is predictably delicious and efficient, if you are in a hurry, or want to enjoy a frosty beverage over a relaxing lunch."

  • "Food is always good. Noise level makes it very difficult to visit. On a busy night reservations are worthless!"

  • "The atmosphere was great for our two couples. Service was over the top. You have to see the wine cellar. Especially enjoyed the Trout and Buttermilk Chicken was to die for."

  • "Dined here twice in one week, once with a group of 12 and once as a couple. Served by waitress Taylor both times, she was excellent and attentive. Very good margaritas, reasonably priced house margarita. Carne arsada was excellent, enchiladas tasty as well. My group loved the fish tacos and jalapeno poppers. Diverse menu had something for everyone. Nice blend of soutwest fare and Mexican fare."

  • "Excellent , flavorful food, as always. The food presentations are spot on, too. My only negative is that I ordered a "Miguel Mule" cocktail for the first time there. It is one of their signature drinks and is advertised as served in a copper cup. My drink arrived in a Mason jar....looking much like a margarita. When I asked, I was told that they were "out" of copper cups. My husband inquired if they could bring a cup when it was available.......but, that never happened....even though our waitress said she was "checking" several times. This may seem like a small detail, but, with all of the great restaurants in town.....it is often the "small details" that separate a good dining experience and an exceptional one!"

  • "Sierra is a great destination for lunch. One can take one's time or get in and out quickly depending on your schedule. Today's special was pan seared Mahi Mahi, served to order (medium rare for me) on a k,ale, spinach, quinoa salad. My wife had their butternut soup which as also delicious."

  • "The biscuits and gravy was absolutely the VERY BEST we have ever had. Although the eggs for our benedict had to go back because they were overcooked, the green chili hollandaise made it worth the extra wait and the cheddar and chili biscuits again put this version way above the usual fare! Through in some better than average adult beverages and this brunch is HIGHLY recommended."

  • "I always enjoy Sierra Bonita Grill. The buttermilk Chicken is outstanding, and my whole party found food and drink excellent. My guests were pleasantly shocked with how fast our order arrived. The atmosphere is very nice and I would highly recommend Sierra Bonita to anyone who enjoys southwestern cuisine."

  • "Overall our food was fantastic! We started out with the bacon wrapped BBQ shrimp which was perfectly cooked and had great flavors! The main entree was Cowboy Stew and Enchiladas Suizas which was great as well. The stew came in a large portion and the Mexican rice was very good. My fresh squeezed margarita was seriously the best one I have ever had!! To top it off, dessert was the chocolate souffle which was cooked perfectly. Our waitress was decent when she was around, but she did not check on us as much as we would have liked. The ambience was very nice, quiet, and romantic. It was dark inside with candles at every table. I highly recommend this unique Mexican restaurant."

  • "I had eaten here once years ago, and forgot how good it was. Looking at the menu before we went made my mouth start watering. The food didn't disappoint. My prime rib was perfectly cooked and a nice sized portion was fantastic. Her chicken dish was also wonderfully prepared and delicious. We will have to return more often."

  • "Lunch at Sierra Bonita is always a treat. This time I had the fish special: Grilled Mahi, that arrived fresh juicy and not overcooked. It was paired with fresh grilled vegetables. Their beer of the season was a Pumpkin Porter, which was very flavorful."

  • "Sierra Bonita is a regular stop for lunch when we are in the area. Today's special, as usual was outstanding. Today we had the open faced prime rib sandwich and steamed vegetables instead of French Fries. The food is always delicious and made to order."

  • "Try the Cowboy Stew. Nothing like it anywhere else."

  • "excellent food, large portions, excellent drinks. service was very good. We have been there when it was very busy and noisy, but this time was not very busy so much quieter."

  • "We have been going to Sierra Bonita for 6 years and have never once been disappointed with our meal. If you are hungry for a larger entree, you can never go wrong with the specials. Saturday night we had smoked prime rib that was to die for. One of our favorite menu items are the poppers - the filling is wonderful and since they are served in their cast iron skillet, they stay hot. Cowboy stew, posole, trout, coffee-rubbed pork roast, enchilada suizas, you name it, we like it. We were pleased to see that they returned a couple of our old favorites on the winter menu."

  • "I would easily classify this in the top 5 for brunch on a weekend. This was our 2nd trip, and we brought parents along this time. We sat on the patio in very comfortable chairs. Each of us tried a different menu item and was very impressed. The bar/server staff were always nearby and attentive, and both of them smiled whenever they interacted with the tables. I can think of nothing negative about our experience, truly a great way to start the day. We are anxious to try the dinner menu, too."
