SiennaDelicious food, great Place! This place is definitely one of the best restaurants in Pgh; everything we had was delicious. Two types of wine, two appetizers, two mains and two sides. The stuffed squid with shrimp was the new addition and one that will keep me coming back for more. We shared the flatbread which is a must as a beginning. My main course was delicious baked salmon with eggplant. AMAZING!!! Wonderful drink menu with a never ending wine list. Sienna is an eating adventure that every Pittsburgher should experience. Its location is in the heart of the city.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMWe are big fans of Chef MatthewWe are big fans of Chef Matthew Porco from his days at Mio in Aspinwall so it was a nice treat to find him now at Sienna. Everything was delicious but the greens and beans might just be the best in the city. The setting is warm and cozy on a cold night in Pittsburgh but we are anxious to return when we can enjoy the open setting in Market Square.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMExceptional in every waySienna was by far one of the best dining experience we have had anywhere. Service was excellent and prompt.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMRestaurant was great. It isRestaurant was great. It is small but has a nice ambience and since we were there early we had the place to ourselves for a while. It started to get noisier as people started coming in. The grilled octopus was excellent as were the main dishes we ordered and our server was very welcoming and attentive. Can't wait to try the outdoor seating once the weather gets better. I would recommend it!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our first visit toThis was our first visit to Sienna in Market Square. It is a small place and reservations are a must, esp on cultural event nights. It has a cozy, pleasant feel, and its menu is more Tuscan than typical southern Italian. Service was very hands-on and pleasant, and food was wonderful. For entrees, we had a braised veal cutlet in a wonderful sauce with mushrooms, rutabaga cream and braised leeks, and a spicy pasta dish. Great meal . . . will definitely return here.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat bithday dinner!!We had a lovely dinner and our waiter Mike was excellent!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMMathieu's the Best! The atmosphere was casually elegant, and located right in the heart of Market Square in Downtown Pittsburgh. It was a 2 minute walk to Heinz Hall for the Symphony The food was masterfully prepared with explosions of different flavors with each course. The price was down right reasonable. Our server, Mathieu was a joy! So knowledgable,on the spot and genuinely friendly. He is from the south of France, with a fabulous accent, and serving at an Italian Restaurant, but it worked perfectly. Thanks Mathieu! You made a it a very memorable evening for Laura & I.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMAbsolutley fabulous food,Absolutley fabulous food, every dish with wonderful, complex flavors. I had the rissoto, which was amazing. Hubby had the ravioli which he loved. We also had a bottle if wine. Total bill was under $100. So great value for a fabulous meal. The food is perfectly and deliciously prepared, the service charming and attentive and the ambiance warm and inviting. I do recommend a reservation since the setting is intimate and there aren't a ton of tables but I will go back again and again. I just love Sienna!3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat addition to Pittsburgh scene! This was my second trip to Sienna and both were fabulous! Food is off the chart yummy! Staff is great! Love the atmosphere, but I would lose the tv in the bar. While it was on w/no sound for the Penguins game, it just seemed to detract from the overall feeling of the restaurant. We will be back as often as possible!3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely place. Food was excellentLovely place. Food was excellent and the waiter was really attentive without being annoying. Highly recommend this place for people that really know food.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was my first dining experienceThis was my first dining experience at Sienna.I went there on a recommendation from my nephew. He certainly was 'spot on' with his suggestion that Sienna is a 'must' for excellent Italian dining. The quality of the food at Sienna was by far the best I have tasted. The menu selections were impressive...making it hard to decide what to order. Since there were 3 of us we all ordered different appetizers, salads and main courses to share!!! Halfway through the main course when I was beyond full, I felt compelled to continue since the food was so delicious. After we finished our wine, we opted for dessert upon the recommendation of our wonderful waiter...to be shared of course. We met Chef Porco who visited our table. I will be returning..& soon.3/25/2013 12:00:00 AMScorecard = A+The restaurant is very clean. The experience and setting is very peaceful. The staff is very friendly and professional. So nice to go someplace where no one is wearing a ballcap!3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMPhenomenal Eats at a Great PriceSienna is a truly memorable dining experience that I plan on enjoying often as I can, and thanks to the affordability of the menu it will be frequent. The food was fantastic: perfectly prepared calamari, butter-like tenderness on the Chianti braised short rib, and the tomato risotto was surprisingly light and vibrant. I can't forget the Moscow Mule! I will be returning to Sienna just for that masterpiece of a cocktail.
Do yourself a favor, grab a friend or two and head to Sienna gustatory bliss.1/5/2013 12:00:00 AMNew downtown favoriteFeels like you are in a little Italian ristorante. I made a meal out of a couple of appetizers, the beans & greens, which was delicious, and the day's special, shrimp-stuffed calamari, which was out of this world. Normally a 'stuffed' dish is too heavy for my taste, but the waiter had recommended, so I went for it, and it was an excellent recommendation: light, delicious, and just the right amount. Dining partner ordered the arugula salad, which he loved, and the tartufo flatbread, which was also (unexpectedly) not too heavy and cheesy. It would be nice if they had a wine by the glass that was a tad less pricey. Still: This is our new favorite restaurant downtown, esp as it is in quick walking distance to the theaters.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMSienna was great as usual.Sienna was great as usual.
