  • "As always the food and service were excellent. We had the bucatini with mozzarella stuffed meatballs, and our guest had the short ribs over mac n cheese. The grilled octopus salad is great. We went conventional this time but the menu is eclectic."

  • "We loved the decor. Beautiful! I would come back to sit at the bar and order some drinks and the flat bread pizza with friends. The entrees, linguine and clams was salty. The mozzarella stuffed veal meatball dish, eh. The pasta they serve with it was terrible and hard to eat. Good coffee and Zeppoli dessert. The service was good, very nice, friendly but everything seemed to take a very long time for a Sunday night. We were there for 2 hours. We are Italian, so we have high standards for great taste when it comes to pasta and sauce. We wouldn't come back for the entrees but would for a glass of wine at the bar. The ambiance was wonderful."

  • "It took too long for the food to be served. It also took too long to get the check and for the waitress to pick up the check. We were there at lunch and needed to get back to work. We were late getting back to work. I would go again because the food is very good. I would just let the waitress know that we need to be on our way in an hour."

  • "Food was good, service was very good. Trendy place, the bar seemed to be hopping and most tables were full and it was an enjoyable experience. Would go back."

  • "The food was really good - great selection of creative and uncommon choices and everything we ate was prepared well. Sadly, the service was well below average. Perhaps it was just our server"

  • "Fun dinner in a cool setting. Food was good but could have been great if the kitchen cut back on some overwhelming flavors. Maybe an off night. Way too many caperberries in the tuna tartar, too much salt in the tomato sauce, balsamic vinegar macerated too long in the strawberries with the delish chocolate pannacotta. Very good short rib and orzo mac and cheese."

  • "The food the service or excellent the noise level from the next-door restaurant was a bit overwhelming, fun to be able to have music but it was quite loud conversation in the outdoor area was difficult"

  • "This was our first time at Sienna but it won't be our last. What a great restaurant. It started with our waiter Louie who was very friendly , helpful and knowledgeable about the food and wine. His recommendation did not disappoint and his detail to service rivaled many upscale NYC restaurants that we have been to. The food was off the charts delicious and the servings where sized just right for our tastes. And the best part was the fact that nothing was rushed. Thanks again to Louie & Sienna for a fun night of dinning. Will be back"

  • "This was my first time to have lunch at Sienna, I have been there many other times for dinner. My lunch was very good, but the dinner menu is outstanding. I highly recommend Sienna to everyone I know!"

  • "I had not been to Sienna for several months. Had a business lunch and everything from the hostess to the server (Nikki) to the food were fantastic. Will certainly be back."

  • "We chose to lunch on farmers market day in the square. The energy level was high. We were seated inside but the large overhead door was wide open to let in the fresh air and ambiance of the square. Still the noise level was not bad. Lunch was great, we each had a salad with a protein. My friend chose shrimp I opted for the meatball. Served on the side it was outstanding with melted mozzarella in the center. Now I need to make my way up Penn Ave to try the meatball place. I loved the fact that the salads were not overwhelming in size. Next to try is the melon gazpacho."

  • "In Pittsburgh's Market Square district - Sienna's food is above average. We enjoyed an arugula salad with fresh made on the premises mozzarella for starters and it was delicious. The drink menu included very interesting and tasty cocktails that were modified for the time of year. For example, one such libation was their Spring Negroni. It was delicious, packed a punch, refreshing, and it even went well with my meal. For my main course I ordered their special item which was Rissotto with homemade sausage and melted marscapone cheese; yeah it was terrific. We sat outside and that was a pleasant experience because the weather was very cooperative. However be aware that the sidewalk, at least at our spot, was slightly but noticeably sloped."

  • "Our server was knowledgeable and attentive. When I needed recommendations, not only was it clear that he had tasted the dishes, he asked the appropriate questions and ultimately guided me to a savory culinary adventure. The 4 cheese flatbread was just crisp enough and the ricotta was out of this world, the veal meatball side dish surpassed even the high standards set by another Pgh restaurant, and the beef shortrib (chosen by my server bc after his description of it and another dish) I was torn) w/ mac n cheese risotto left me craving it the next day. The cobia (ordered by my companion) was also delicious. Can't wait for my next visit to try the rabbit gnocchi!"

  • "Sienna was a good experience, the restaurant is beautiful, very inviting, and comfortable. The service, was good as was the food. My only complaint would be the Antipasti, we order it every time we see it on a menu, so we've had hundreds. However theres was very skimpy. It contained one slice of bread cut in half, 4-6 small bits of cheese, and three slices of Sopressota, and two pieces of Proscuitto, with a bit of tomato jam. We don't expect a meat pile, but for the price it was extremely small."

  • "I ordered the bucatini with veal meatballs. It would have been a great dish but my goodness, the chef used so much salt that the dish was downright unenjoyable. Almost unedible. The consistency of the pomodoro sauce was nice but it was way over salted, but the meatballs were worse. I had my wife try the dish and she agreed. I'm mad at myself for not sending it back."

  • "Have been to Sienna many, many times. One of my favorite restaurants and it never disappoints. Great cocktails, especially the Rosemary Lemon Drop. Had the chicken dish with pesto and it was amazing. Service is top notch. Great outdoor seating in view of Market Squre."

  • "Made our reservations online and put in a special request to have a wine from their list on the table when we got there. All was as requested. Our waiter was very attentive and the manager came over several times to check on us. The food was Outstanding! Highly recommend the Voveti Prosecco. It was a nice walk to the theater from here. We will definitely return."

  • "beautifully presented plates; but, the beet salad was overwhelmed by the cheese and the short rib and meatball entrees were so salty that we couldn't really taste anything else. I would return for a drink, but not for food"

  • "We really enjoyed the pre-dinner meal on a week night. There were so many things on the menu that I wanted to try, I'm sure that we will return. The meatballs were outstanding, greens and beans, the best I've ever had, and the cobia was perfect! There were 4 of us and everyone loved everything. The chocolate panna cotta with balsamic strawberries was excellent."

  • "My boyfriend and I came here for our anniversary dinner, excited to try something new. The atmosphere was very relaxing and chic; it was appropriately dark inside, creating a nice ambiance for a romantic dinner. We split the wild mushroom bruschetta as an appetizer and were blown away by how good it was! Even with all the trimmings, it was fresh and flavorful. Next came our entree, the caprese flatbread. I am not usually a fan of flatbreads but for Sienna I will make an exception. Their tomatoes are so fresh, ripe, and full of flavor. The meal was definitely filling but not overwhelming so, like in most Italian restaurants. Our waiter, albeit busy, was friendly and very accommodating. We will absolutely be back in the future."

  • "We had a wonderful meal after seeing a show at the Pops. Best meatballs anywhere. Service was wonderful also. This was the first Sunday it was opened so I hope more people will go and support them. Since we have eaten many meals in Washington D C I thought the Price was reasonable actully it felt like a bargain compared to DC prices."

  • "I had been dying to go to Sienna, and finally booked a reservation. Having read reviews, I knew that the tables in the bar area were high tops and not comfortable. So when they tried to seat us there, at a table next to the kitchen, I politely told them that we preferred to sit at a lower table. They had plenty of open seating outside on the patio, so we were happy to sit there. We split an order of beans and greens and a salad to start. The beans and greens were outstanding! For our main course, my boyfriend had the chicken, which was a little dry. I had the nightly special, bronzeno(?spelling), a great fish similar to trout. The presentation was nice, but the food was cold. Will we go back? Maybe for pasta and the pleasant service."

  • "This was our second visit to Sienna, located in the newly invigorated Market Square area of downtown Pittsburgh. This place hops with activity and with good reason. Wonderful, creative appetizers and salads, superb pasta dishes and the ever-popular mozzarella stuffed meatball. Very popular spot, esp. on nights with major cultural events. Friendly, efficient service from waitress Ariel, who literally almost sounded like a Disney character."

  • "My wife and I had heard good things about Sienna and decided to give it a try after a night at the ArtsFest. I had high expectations going in and they exceeded them. On a busy Saturday night, we were actually seated before our reservation and were quickly attended to by a knowledgeable wait staff. The meal did not take long to make it to our table and the food....it was simply the best meal I've eaten in months. Maybe years. Portions were large, the food was seasoned perfectly. All around, a great experience and we will surely be back. Probably with friends."

  • "This isn 't your typical Italian food but what great choices. After narrowing down our choices, the stuffed veal meatballs with pasta and the beef spareribs were amazing. The service was excellent, consistent and attentive. Prices in moderate range but worth it. Casual fun in Marketplace."
