  • "I made reservations for 3 people for lunch for 1:00 PM on Friday, August 15th and we had to wait until 1:20 or so to be seated. No tables for 3 were available at 1:00 PM. Even though, we didn't get seated until 1:20 or so, the lunch was very good and we didn't have to pay for our lunch. I thought that was very nice to compensate us. THANK YOU."

  • "This was our first dining experience at Sienna and the food and our server did not disappoint! The dinner menu offers a nice variety of antipasti, soup/salad, pasta and meats/fish and there is also a nice selection of wines by the glass. We ordered the prosciutto wrapped Atlantic salmon and the dorade which were both amazing! The service was well-timed and very appropriately attentive. We were seated at a small table in the bar area that gave us a nice view of the entire restaurant. I would highly recommend Sienna and look forward to returning to taste some more of Chef Porco's cuisine! P.S. The valet parking option at Market Square is a fabulous idea! Cost is $7 if you dine at one of the restaurants on the Square."

  • "My husband and I have been going to Sienna since it opened. Truly, we've never had a bad meal...only great ones. My favorites: start with the stracciatella over arugula. Wow. Wow. I wish they didn't make such a big deal over the meatball thing. There's so many other items to enjoy...like the short ribs."

  • "Uncomfortable seating (my back to the door, and the upper bar area looming above me) with a slow service start, almost had me regretting this choice. Our appetizer arrived 1/2 hr. into our visit, and took off the edge. All in all, our food was exceptional. (caprese flatbread, caesar salad, tomato basil soup, chicken entree. But my pasta dish left me a little unsatisfied. While the veal meatballs were generous in size and very delicious, the noodles were overcooked and the sauce tasted like it had been sitting/burning in the bottom of the pot for a day. Pricey, but we would consider coming back now knowing the limited seating choices."

  • "Beautiful little restaurant reminded me of the ones in the Trastevere section of Rome. Waitress was wonderful and knew the ingredients to all the items and could recommend gluten free dishes. Food was amazing with complex flavors you just find in the states. We had chopped salad, beet salad, fish special, shrimp and tomato risotto all gluten free, and lamb meatballs which want gf. All very good."

  • "Our table wasn't outside but it was under the open doors so we could hear some of the music from the square, but the restaurant music sort of drowned it out. Food was great! Rabbit gnocchi, octopus salad, beet salad, chocolate panne cotta. One negative was gnats. Lots of them. Only relief was when the air came on. The don't like breezes."

  • "Outstanding soups! Change with the seasons and all are amazing. Crave the current wonderful melon gazpacho! The sausage and potato soup was great during that this last, long winter. Last summer's cold corn with crab soup was fantastic. Salads and flat breads are excellent. Ditto for pasta and risotto. Always a great experience!"

  • "We loved the decor. Beautiful! I would come back to sit at the bar and order some drinks and the flat bread pizza with friends. The entrees, linguine and clams was salty. The mozzarella stuffed veal meatball dish, eh. The pasta they serve with it was terrible and hard to eat. Good coffee and Zeppoli dessert. The service was good, very nice, friendly but everything seemed to take a very long time for a Sunday night. We were there for 2 hours. We are Italian, so we have high standards for great taste when it comes to pasta and sauce. We wouldn't come back for the entrees but would for a glass of wine at the bar. The ambiance was wonderful."

Way too many caperberries in the tuna tartar, too much salt in the tomato sauce, balsamic vinegar macerated too long in the strawberries with the delish chocolate pannacotta. Very good short rib and orzo mac and cheese."

  • "This was our first time at Sienna but it won't be our last. What a great restaurant. It started with our waiter Louie who was very friendly , helpful and knowledgeable about the food and wine. His recommendation did not disappoint and his detail to service rivaled many upscale NYC restaurants that we have been to. The food was off the charts delicious and the servings where sized just right for our tastes. And the best part was the fact that nothing was rushed. Thanks again to Louie & Sienna for a fun night of dinning. Will be back"

  • "We chose to lunch on farmers market day in the square. The energy level was high. We were seated inside but the large overhead door was wide open to let in the fresh air and ambiance of the square. Still the noise level was not bad. Lunch was great, we each had a salad with a protein. My friend chose shrimp I opted for the meatball. Served on the side it was outstanding with melted mozzarella in the center. Now I need to make my way up Penn Ave to try the meatball place. I loved the fact that the salads were not overwhelming in size. Next to try is the melon gazpacho."

  • "In Pittsburgh's Market Square district - Sienna's food is above average. We enjoyed an arugula salad with fresh made on the premises mozzarella for starters and it was delicious. The drink menu included very interesting and tasty cocktails that were modified for the time of year. For example, one such libation was their Spring Negroni. It was delicious, packed a punch, refreshing, and it even went well with my meal. For my main course I ordered their special item which was Rissotto with homemade sausage and melted marscapone cheese; yeah it was terrific. We sat outside and that was a pleasant experience because the weather was very cooperative. However be aware that the sidewalk, at least at our spot, was slightly but noticeably sloped."

When I needed recommendations, not only was it clear that he had tasted the dishes, he asked the appropriate questions and ultimately guided me to a savory culinary adventure. The 4 cheese flatbread was just crisp enough and the ricotta was out of this world, the veal meatball side dish surpassed even the high standards set by another Pgh restaurant, and the beef shortrib (chosen by my server bc after his description of it and another dish) I was torn) w/ mac n cheese risotto left me craving it the next day. The cobia (ordered by my companion) was also delicious. Can't wait for my next visit to try the rabbit gnocchi!"

  • "Sienna was a good experience, the restaurant is beautiful, very inviting, and comfortable. The service, was good as was the food. My only complaint would be the Antipasti, we order it every time we see it on a menu, so we've had hundreds. However theres was very skimpy. It contained one slice of bread cut in half, 4-6 small bits of cheese, and three slices of Sopressota, and two pieces of Proscuitto, with a bit of tomato jam. We don't expect a meat pile, but for the price it was extremely small."

  • "I ordered the bucatini with veal meatballs. It would have been a great dish but my goodness, the chef used so much salt that the dish was downright unenjoyable. Almost unedible. The consistency of the pomodoro sauce was nice but it was way over salted, but the meatballs were worse. I had my wife try the dish and she agreed. I'm mad at myself for not sending it back."

  • "Have been to Sienna many, many times. One of my favorite restaurants and it never disappoints. Great cocktails, especially the Rosemary Lemon Drop. Had the chicken dish with pesto and it was amazing. Service is top notch. Great outdoor seating in view of Market Squre."
