Diner Reviews
  • "We visited Siena's on a recommendation from a friend last week and everything was excellent, gave it the true test by coming back for my wife's bday with a party of 10, four of my buddies being real pains in the butt. Happy to report that once again this place was spot on, food and service was excellent. The owner is a gentleman who made a few appearances at our table to check in and even remembered my wife and my wine preferences from when we had first visited a week before. Small establishment, yet cozy and comfortable with beautiful decor as my wife has pointed out on two occasions now. Great wine list and great food, not to mention very fairly priced. Highly recommend you try this place."

  • "This place has all the qualities my wife and I look for in a restaurant. Attentive waitstaff, great ambiance, a bit small but definitely not congested.. If you like a good fried calamari, you must try their calamari arabiata, excellent! I had the pork chops my wife the chicken marsala (both excellent) The owner came over to our table twice to check in, which we found to be a very nice touch, my wife mentioned being a chocolate lover, he in turn recommended his Nutella soufflé, fabulous! Booking my wife's bday dinner for 15 this weekend, hoping they are consistant. In a nutshell this place is a must try."

  • "Had to call the waiter over everytime we needed something. Sent appetizers back because they were cold and they came back cold again. Very disappointed"

  • "We went on 2/23/14; this was a nice spot to eat, small and cozy. The food was excellent, we had the fried calamari; it was light non greasy and the sauce was delightful. I had the shrimp francese (with potato croquettes only because I had an upset stomach). Croquettes were not very good, seemed greasy and tasteless so I couldn't eat even one. The Shrimp francese was excellent, shrimp was very fresh, tender and the francese sauce was very tasty. My husband had the salmon with corn, avocado with tomato cilantro salsa and the fish was tasteless but ok with everything on the fork at the same time. For dessert he had the creme brulee and it was great. Definitely would go back to see if the rest of the food is anything like the shrimp francese."

  • "This is a lovely little gem hidden in a tiny strip mall. It was the best classic Italian I've had in a long time. The Chicken Scarpariello (on the bone) was perfectly cooked and juicy, as was the crumbly sausage in the dish. The sauce was rich and flavorful. My dinner companions were equally happy with pasta dishes. The house made Italian cheese cake was also spot on and accompanied by a terrific cup of coffee. John, the owner and our waiter are friendly and welcoming making the place very warm and inviting. Don't miss this one. We' ll definitely be back!"

  • "I was highly recommended to this place by a coworker. My wife and I dine out frequently and upon pulling up I was slightly nervous about the location however once inside I was quite impressed. Never thought we'd see hand painted murals on the walls but we did. The place is small, but very comfortable. The staff was very attentive the chef came out twice to check on us, as did the owner himself. Food was excellent, highly recommend the calamari done with the hot peppers, wow sums it right up. My wife was so pleased with this place that we wound up back the next night with some friends. Happy to report night two was just as/if not better than night one. We've definitely found our new spot."

  • "If you are going to open a new restaurant why not check prices and food quality within 20 miles. Spidini small and dried out Ceaser's salad very small. My veal thin as a dime and tough my wife's chicken okay. Drinks too much. I give this place 6-8 months. This isn't the first place I have eaten at that I haven't enjoyed my meal and it cost me $140.00. There is a lot of completion out there and most people have money too spend on a bad meal."

  • "Wow! We had a fabulous Italian meal here. It rivaled many meals we have had in Italy. The location was very convenient for us while we were visiting our daughter at sarah lawrence, but others might hesitate to go because it's building borders a highway and shopping center. Resist those instincts and get over there as soon as you can. The food is superb and service very warm and attentive. All 4 people in our party loved their dishes. Dining room is lovely to boot with murals painted on the wall. We will be back every time we visit the area!"

  • "Although we were the only ones in the restaurant, the bar was bustling. Don't know why we were the only ones on a Friday evening (6:00PM). The food was fabulous. We had the red snapper and the Osso bucco (special). Both were excellent. The tiramisu was great. The chef came out 2xs to check on us. The waiter was attentive, yet unobtrusive. Great food, great time. Would highly recommend this place & plan on returning. Get the word out... Hate to lose this restaurant."

  • "John (owner?) came over to our table and introduced himself. nice guy with good intentions. Service was excellent. Very professional staff and excellent food. Awesome wine selection! Full bar! We had the Bocce Balls and the Grilled Vegetables for our apps and shared the Chicken Scarpariello. It was fantastic! Every part of it. We can't wait to go back!"

  • "Started with a great antipasto - salami, soppressata, prosciutto, tomatoes, cheese and roasted peppers, which we enjoyed with a house Chianti. We followed with veal parmagiana and a seared tuna with risotto, then desert of ricotta cheesecake and cappuccino. Our server was very attentive, and we were visited twice by the chef. Will stop again when traveling on business to Yonkers."

  • "Siena is a new restaurant in Yonkers, just south of the Cross County Shopping center. Food was very good and the service was excellent. We ordered a tortolini en brodo suop and caesar salad appetizer. When we indicated that we wanted an extra spoon so we could share, the chef/owner said he would split the appetizers for us. When we were serve we actually had 2 soups and 2 salads at no extra charge. The main course was a veal dish that was excellent. This is a friendly local restaurant that should do very well.. We will definitely eat here again."

  • "My girlfriend and I were searching for a restaurant for dinner before a concert at Empire Casino. We had never been to Yonkers so we were unsure where to go and, living in New Jersey, didn’t have any local contacts. Imagine our surprise when we found Siena's Trattoria. The food was outstanding and the service was impeccable. The chef and the owner personally came around to our table several times to speak with us. Incredibly friendly atmosphere. We would highly recommend this restaurant to all and are envious of those who live close. Despite the distance from where we live, we will be back."
