  • "We had to make our weekend reservation a couple months in advance, but as a fan of Top Chef, Fabio Viviani and Italian cuisine, it was worth the wait. The food was really good, the restaurant was comfortable and service was good as well. Definitely try the Siena Meatball!"

  • "This is a serious singles pick-up place that also serves food. Our table of 4 could not hear any conversation, it was so noisy. We left after appetizers and went to another restaurant."

  • "Good location. Amazing food and drinks. And the atmosphere and décor were perfect. I couldn't have asked for a nicer experience."

  • "The group was very happy with our dinner as well as the service and ambience. Shared appetizers included the Coccoli with prosciutto, dabs of honey and cheese; mushroom pizza with truffles; and a salad of brussels sprouts and nuts. The coccoli~fried Italian popovers~were excellent though there should be far more cheese and honey both. The thin crust pizza went quickly as everyone liked it very much. The salad is unusual and refreshing. Scrumptious oven roasted parmesan potatoes accompany the brick chicken, itself most delicious. An order of butternut squash tortellaci was yummy. Farrow with shrimp was outstanding! Both gelato and chocolate carrot cake were enjoyed; the bomboloni doughnuts would have been delightful if only they were hot."

  • "We went for brunch and it was delicious. Server was very friendly and accommodating. Restaurants often try to do crazy things to breakfast and usually mess up the easiest meal of the day. The changed it up slightly and did a great job. Almond butter with delicious pancakes and a light pesto flavor to a hollandaise sauce on the eggs benedict differentiated it from other breakfasts without going nuts. Definitly recommend. Even though we went for brunch, I bet the large bar provides a fun scene and allows enough room for you to get a drink at the same time. We went before a show and food came quick so we weren't in a rush too. Definitely give it a shot!"

  • "This trip was my second time at Siena Tavern, and it was better than my first experience (which was also amazing)! We had a great booth and awesome server, Christin. All of the food was great, but my favorites were the coccihli, gnocchi, and bombolini. I highly recommend that EVERYONE eat here at least once, it is a MUST!"

  • "I wasn't sure what to expect with a restaurant that has a lot of hype (and deservedly so). When some co-workers & I showed up for lunch on a Friday, we didn't know what to wear. We soon realized that Sienna Tavern is an excellent spot we'll be coming back to again and again. No pressure from servers, relaxed vibe, & some of the best food I've had in the city."

  • "Food was pretty damn good, nothing earth shattering, but solid. The bar area is really vibrant with lots of folks stopping in after work, or just passing through while in town."

  • "We were seated at what had to be the worst table in the place. Right by the front door. As we sat the table next to us was cleared so we asked to move there. At least it was a few steps away from the host stand, although still against the front window where the valet guys were and where smokers chose to stand/lean against the window. I was a little bummed out. We started with a few appetizers. The food made up for the bad table. We had the hamachi, octopus and ricotta cheese apps. I had the squid ink linguini with lobster. And how could we not have desert. Tiramisu and the bread pudding. Pretty great night. But it did put a big dent in my wallet."

  • "I absolutely love this place . The homemade pasta is incredible , the salads terrific and the pizzas tasty. In addition, the bar scene is excellent from 5pm on with a nice mix of business and artistic professionals. This was my third reservation and the only " shade" I would cast is related to the time to receive entrees. We waited 45 min before our entrees came - way to long - and the second time it has happened . We were so enjoying the place each time that this wait period snuck up on us But this needs to be fixed. I still love this place! Best entree, pasta bolognese. Best salad- beet."

  • "My husband and I went to Sienna Tavern on a Thursday after work. We had a very comfortable table by the window. The chairs were very comfortable and cozy. The atmosphere is very vibrant. We ordered the Coccoli, the Gnocchi, the Farro Risotto and the Bomboloni. Everything was excellent! We especially loved the Bomboloni - doughnuts and dipping sauces, very delicious and fun. It is a great place to go after work for drinks and dinner or appetizers as a date or with friends."

  • "First time at this restaurant for lunch and am glad I had a reservation, it was jam-packed at lunch on a Wednesday. Very friendly and welcoming service. Menu has a lot of interesting dishes, many that I wanted to try. The waiter was very helpful in recommending dishes. The pastas are rather rich. I chose one (lobster spaghetti) at the waiter's suggestion, which was supposed to have been lighter -- it was delicious, but still was heavier/richer than I anticipated. The true mark of a restaurant is whether I am eager to go back, and I am. Food was great and I want to try more dishes. Prices are a bit higher than average for a sit-down lunch."

  • "If your a fan of Fabios this is just an awsome place to try out his family recipes, we had a couple of appetizers and a few dinners that we shared around with 4 different people so we could try different stuff and it was all great!!"

  • "The truffle pizza was very good, and we noticed other tables ordering it as well. The service was very knowledgeable about the menu and giving us the story about the owner and Siena Tavern."

  • "Brunch food was quite tasty, I recommend the Biscuits and Gravy. Portions are not too big but we ordered a few things and shared for the variety."

  • "Still very much on the "hot" list of restaurants so go with a reservation or a off day/time. Great bar to pop in for drinks. Love numbered signature cocktails! Lobster hash, short rib pasta are indulgent, rich and worth it! Meatball appetizer is so tasty but a bit pricy for a meatball. Arturo has waited on me for 2 of my dining experiences. Polite, nice and helpful. Will go back."

  • "The food selection here is fresh, new and exciting. Service is very attentive without being over bearing. The shaved brussel sprout salad is outstanding! Don't pass up the Bomboloni for dessert. The Whisky caramel sauce is to die for!!"

  • "I've tried most of the menu options and have not had a single item that I did not enjoy. I LOVE the Coccoli and the Squid Ink Linguini., both are absolutely delicious. The service is always exceptional and the restaurant has a great ambiance."

  • "We went to Siena for brunch & had the Carne & Truffles/Mushroom Pizza & both were good..loved the crust. We also enjoyed the octopus & mussels for appetizer; the Ceasar kale salad was great. The gnocchi though was slightly on the soggy side but the cream sauce was so good. My nephew & niece's french toast came almost 30 mins after ordering, when the adults were already eating the appetizers & so that made the kids whining. Everyone raved the Bomboloni. Our server was gracious as well as the manager & bus boys. Overall, we had a great time & would recommend."

  • "Portions can either be small (too small for a dinner) or large -( too large for most people) The food was good and the service was excellent. They seated us on time despite the St Pats Day crowd the bar was beyond load but that is to be expected on St P Day. We would suggest some additional fishes (rather than just a whole fish option) and maybe some other main dishes that are not too big We will go back...but probably for a bar/snack night rather than a full dinner"

  • "Server Gregory was awesome. We had a minor spill from a passerby and got wine on a shirt. Manager Dan came over and we had 6 different employees help w/ seltzer water, etc. Dan offered to cover the dry cleaning costs and even comped us another bottle of wine. Fabio stopped by the chat for a second as well."

  • "A great place for a great meal. We went with friends. We had the gnocchi, pappardelle, short rib ravioli, and the tortellacci. They were all well liked. By 7:00 we could barely talk across the table to each other. Maybe we are getting too old for this amount of noise. We will be back because we do love the food and the desserts. The tiramisu and the afffagato were otstanding."

  • "If you've ever tried to make a reservation at Siena, you know how difficult it can be. I personally had to schedule a month in advance to get a reservation that was close to the time I would normally eat dinner (8:45 on a Tuesday). As a big Top Chef fan, I had high expectations for this restaurant. I'm happy to say all my expectations were met. I had the Caramelle and my boyfriend had the gnocchi. We both loved our dishes, but the gnocchi was the best I've ever had. I liked it so much I took home an extra order for my family to try. The gelato was also phenomenal. We shared the caramel/fudge and the cinnamon. I highly recommend Siena!"

  • "Food was very good. More a bar atmosphere than a restaurant. Loud."
    Dined on 3/12/2014
  • "Great atmosphere....great service...tables aren't close together like all the other trendy spots in town so you can actually have a conversation without hearing the next table. Food was just so excellent...The Ciccoli and the Octopus were stellar..Pappardelle was just as good as what i have had in Bologna and the Brick Chicken while a bit heavy was full of flavor and great.. Honestly i think every dish here can be shared..Portions were on the larger size"

  • "An amazing restaurant. They took care of my wife & I from the get go with a very nice booth and great table service. The food was amazing: octopus, mozzarella, ossobuco. And the chocolate dessert is out of this world. I expected more from the wine list, but was able to find a good Rosso di Montalcino. And make sure not to order the "numbered" drinks- they are all pre-made and ungarnished, which takes away the experience (and flavor) from a craft cocktail. Plus the bartenders could use some personality, but our server was outstanding. Thanks Siena- we'll be back!"

  • "Food was average. Group tried two different salads, bland dressing. Lasagna spicy, Portion size small. Wait staff very friendly, helpful, but slow, left sitting for long periods in between, wanted dessert and passed as it took awhile. Not busy either."

  • "I eat Italian food a lot, and I have tried plenty of Italian places in Chicago, but none of them compare to Siena Tavern. Not only is the food outstanding, but the portion sizes are perfect. Fabio has really outdone himself; great chef!! If you enjoy high-level food, head here right away!"

  • "Ciccoli and octopus were outstanding. Lobster roll is good but does not taste like an authentic East Coast roll. A few lighter options on the menu would be nice (lots of pasta, pizza, sandwiches, heavy items). Overall excellent."
