  • "Came here early on a Tuesday evening and was thankful for our reservation. It seems to be a happening spot! I was with my daughter to celebrate her 23rd birthday. Service was prompt and very pleasant. The server was very enthused about the menu. We gravitate toward simpler vegetarian options and there were plenty to choose from. After some celebratory champagne we shared two salads. Both were amazing and somewhat unconventional which was fun. The thin and crispy pizza was excellent and had a delicious crust. We both had the "Gelato Flight" for dessert which was a selection of 4 flavours - we have enjoyed some exceptional gelato in our travels around Europe but we both agree these were outstanding!"

  • "We were very disappointed with our last visit here. The drinks were small(a martini should not be a puddle in the bottom half of the glass-even with an olive in the glass) and watered down, the kale salad was nice but how about a piece of bread with a salad,the pizza was very good and the brick chicken diavalo was tiny and not spicy at all.There are so many places doing a better brick chicken and at a better price point. Our waitress was so disengaged."

  • "We loved Siena Tavern for Brunch! They have both sweet and savory options and nothing we ordered was disappointing. Get the Monkey Bread. It was the best I have ever had! The service was great and the atmosphere was rustic chic. We will definitely travel to Chicago again and come to Siena Tavern for dinner."

  • "Somehow, I've managed to get through the past few years without stopping by Siena Tavern for lunch OR dinner, therefor I was worried that perhaps the food would not live up to the hype that all of my friends and coworkers have built up. I have to say, from start to finish, everything about the meal was perfect. We all sampled each others entrees and desserts, and every thing was fantastic. I highly recommend Siena Tavern to anyone looking for a great meal. The pricing is also very reasonable for the quality of food!"

  • "Loved Siena! I am vegan and our server, Stephanie, could not have been more helpful or accommodating in helping me find suitable choices on the menu. The manager came over to make sure that I was happy with my dinner, which I was. Thank you, Stephanie, for being an outstanding server, I truly appreciate it. Everything everyone ordered at the table was enjoyed. We did not have a pizza, but they looked incredible as they were served to tables around us. My absolute favorite was the doughnuts for dessert with the dipping sauces. A+!"

  • "It is a shame - very good food but such a loud, obnoxious, overflowing bar scene you can't talk to the person next to you at your table. If you are going for the food, go for lunch or very early dinner.....otherwise just go for bar scene & skip the meal."

  • "We had a reservation here and ended up being about 20 minutes late because of a bus breakdown. However, the host was extremely gracious, and we waited about ten minutes, got a drink at the bar, and then were taken to our table. Compared to other similarly-priced Italian restaurants in Chicago, we were impressed with the portion sizes. I didn't love the risotto that I got, but it was artfully prepared and definitely tasted good. The service was fantastic too, despite the restaurant being (surprisingly) crowded for 8:30 on a Wednesday night. I'll be back!"

  • "Would not go back. Ossobuco was very good but have had better. My gnocchi was highlight of dinner but I would not drive downtown to get gnocchi. The prosciutto was cut ridiculously thin. We know that it is supposed to be served thinly sliced but this was obviously done to save money. Skip the coccoli appetizer with prosciutto. The burrata with tomato jam and toast was delicious. The gelato was okay but the rhubarb crisp was way too tart. I love rhubarb but would never order this dessert again. My white sangria was refreshing. There is no bread on the table. The pizzas looked good but we were looking for a nice dinner. The meal was good, just not good enough to make it a downtown destination for us - unfortunately."

  • "A friend recommended Siena Tavern to me so we decided to give it a try on a recent trip to Chicago. It was my favorite dinner of the entire trip! Not only was everything we had delicious but they were also so accommodating of my young daughter's dietary restrictions. The hearts of palm salad was so yummy and our pasta dishes were awesome. I would definitely visit Siena Tavern again."

  • " From the time we sat down to the time we left, it was a very memorable, and enjoyable experience. We ordered our selections based on other reviews and the help of our server. There were three of us and we shared all of the dishes.The Coccoli was our least favorite (cheese was cold & would have preferred at least room temp). The Octopus was out of this world, I've tried elsewhere and found this to be the best & most tender. We shared the Squid Ink pasta w/ Lobster, the Mushroom Gnocchi and Burnt Pepperoni pizza. Everything was really good! Our server, Arturo was by far one of the best servers we have ever had. He truly made the whole experience so enjoyable."

  • "The shaved brussels sprout salad is interesting and ample enough to share. Our charcuterie (waitress selected) was delicious including walnuts and honey, 2 cheeses and 2 meats. My daughter said the Gnocchi was the best she ever had. The Orchietta was also delicious and equally as good reheated the next day for lunch. The little donuts (beignets really) were wonderful with the chocolate/hazlenut, caramel/whiskey, and raspberry sauce. Definitely a restaurant worth returning to."

  • "We discovered this gem by accident. Loved it so much we visited twice. The wait staff was incredible! Water glasses were never empty. Waiter offered terrific substitutions to accommodate dietary restrictions. Favorites were the meatball sandwich, kale salad, coccoli (YUM!) and pizza. We have never been a fan of the deep dish (sorry Chicago!) so the lighter crust was a welcome surprise! Cocktails were pricey, but oooh so good. Would return for drinks alone."

  • "I picked Siena Tavern to meet up with out of town guests because it was recommended to me, and I'd always drive by and want to go in there. We have no complaints about the quality of food and drink, but the service wasn't great. It wasn't a busy night either. It took approximately 20 minutes to receive our drinks after we ordered. My friend's appetizer was taken away when our entrees arrived even though it was only half finished. My husband ordered a dish and was told that one component of it was out of stock, so they would bring a bit more of everything else. My husband requested that they do not increase the oysters and instead the server sent an extra plate of oysters. Our server just did not seem interested in our table at all."

Our waitress was really great and she really knew the menu and was able to make some great recommendations. Overall, great food, great atmosphere, I would go back again!!!!"

  • "Had a birthday brunch at Siena T. For the most part it was a good dining experience. The food was good (not great). Kinda expected a little more to be honest but we had a good time. Service was a little dodgy. Nice enough and knowledgeable but he may have had too many tables to work with. Took our orders and disappeared. Long enough so that the appetizers arrived at the same time as our meals. He checked in after everything arrived. That was odd. Other than that it was fun. We'll probably go back again but more than likely for drinks only. Not that impressed."

  • "Sat outside with a group of 5 people. Wait staff could have been a bit more attentive but the food was great! Good options for brunch, and they also had a full lunch menu. I had the breakfast sandwich which came with a side of crispy potatoes sprinkled with parm cheese - both items were amazing. Friends had biscuits and gravy which they loved. Waffles with Nutella were also delicious. Lots of outdoor seating - not hard to get a reservation for a Saturday brunch."

  • "At first I felt like Julia Roberts in "Pretty Woman" when she was trying to buy clothes. I had money, but no one would wait on me at the bar. I was seen by several bartenders and waitresses, but something about me must have screamed "I am not worthy." Once we got seated, things improved. Excellent pizza. Very good lobster pasta. Bread was not served. Desserts merely OK."

  • "We were all excited to dine at this restaurant. Our gluten-free diner ordered a kale salad with chicken. It was served with tons of croutons. It was remade, but this time they forgot the chicken. A bus boy was sent to pick it up so it could be corrected, but he thought it was to be thrown away, so we had to chase him down. We waited another 10 minutes and they brought a bowl of chopped chicken for her to "dump" in the salad. This was appalling to us. We explained this to the manager and all she did was hand us her card and said to contact her next time we came in. This was also appalling. No offer to remove the item from the bill, no offer of dessert, no offer of free drinks. Worst experience in ages."

  • "We have been there before and absolutely love the food and atmosphere. There isn't a bad thing on the menu. Unforunately had a really poor experience in terms of service. Server was absent the entire evening and was not checking in or brining things back to the table in a timely manner. It was such a bad experience that it took away from the entire evening. It is unfortunate because this restaurant is one of my favorites."

I brought my parents here to celebrate my graduation and the manager even approached the table to welcome the new faces as well as to congratulate me on my success. The support staff were also very welcoming and even had suggestions on what to order as we ordered throughout our stay. Ughh and the food, phenomenal, order atleast one of everything especially the pizza! Love this place!"
