We have dined at Sienna frequently
and are never disappointed. Attentive service and great food. and choice of small or large portions makes it great for sampling and sharing. Pastas are homemade and unique compared to other Italian restaurants. Sauces are wonderful too. Can be quite reasonable . Week nights are best as it can get very noisy."

Small portions but taste fresh.
Reminded me of the ravioli I had in Italy."

Had a reservation for Valentines
Day dinner. We'd been before and were impressed. This time however it seemed like they couldn't quite handle the number of diners. We waited almost an hour before even our appetizer arrived. On the plus side, food was great."
Dined on 2/14/2014
We ordered the RIbeye steak and I
believe we were slammed because the steak tasted burnt and dry like a New York strip perhaps. It was definitiely NOT a ribeye. I orderd an italian dish with noodles, shrimp and crispy zuchinni. That was actually very tasty. The service was good. Our steaks toghether were $70 and just not ggod at all. Stick to the pasta...steaks is not their forte."

If you can't fly to Italy for
dinner (who can do that???), go to Siena and it will feel like you've left the US and are surrounded by all the goodness and greatness of Italy and it's food. This place is incredible."
Dined on 2/14/2014
Very good Italian food in a
downtown setting. Moderate noise level and attentive wait staff. Good nightly specials. Sampled salads, pasta, risotto and fish dishes all served hot on inviting, decorated plates. Wine list has all the usual plus some interesting additions. This was not our first trip here, and we will be back again!"
Dined on 2/8/2014
The food and wine were very good,
the service was somewhat slow while staff seemed to dote on the diners they seemed to know well."
Dined on 2/8/2014
Love this place. The greeting is
always real, like they are so happy to see you. I have been to Italy many times, and I always feel like I'm there when I eat at Siena. Food is fantastic, never had a bad meal there."
Dined on 1/27/2014
Sienna is always excellent but is
pricey for dinner - lunch a much better value. Also, the noise volume is very high making it difficult to enjoy a leisurely high end dinner."

We found this restaurant on Yelp
and the reviews looked promising. We were a family group, traveling in from Texas, Virginia, Florida and New York. The staff at Siena took great care of us. We arrived the day after a big storm which disrupted the train schedules and they were so gracious as we waited for family members to arrive. The staff suggest family-style appetizers and a dazzling and delicious assortment came out of the kitchen, making the wait go so quickly. The home-made pasta was excellent. I wish I lived closer so I could visit another time and have the grilled calamari. Thank you."

Always consistently good and worth
the few extra dollars"
Dined on 12/20/2013
The food, service was wonderful.
However, the noise level was horrible. I could hardly converse with the other 3 people at my table. They need to put acoustic tiles in the ceiling. It would make a huge difference."
Dined on 11/16/2013
Great place, good food the only
problem is that it is a bit noisy and we found it a little difficult to hear each other in a table of only 4."
Dined on 11/16/2013
The best Italian food in Stamford.
Sienna never disappoints. Consistently delicious."
Dined on 11/15/2013
Food was quite good but not
outstanding. Service was excellent"
Dined on 11/11/2013
The restaurant was unbelievably
loud. Food was just okay. I sent my first entree back. It was replaced by a different dish. Not much better, just different. We won't be back"
Dined on 11/2/2013
A head above the rest of Italiano
ristorantes in Stamford. Good food. Attentive staff. Couldn't have asked for more!"
Dined on 10/31/2013
I thought the special dinner for
$28 was delicious. The service was friendly and efficient. The noise level was loud even though it was a Wednesday and the place was not full . Overall, I had a most enjoyable evening."
Dined on 10/24/2013
A local escape, blocks from my
home, for a sophisticated meal. Through a friends recommendation, I have been there twice this week for the Costoletta: Panko breaded veal chop, baby arugula and cherry tomato salad, prepared perfectly. I am in the restaurant business and appreciate a place where I can go to eat and relax. Stamford loves the concept, they were very busy. A complete restaurant experience (great food and great service). I will be back very soon!!!"

The staff of this well established
place handles a busy Saturday dinner service without batting an eye. You get the feeling that they learned the trade in Italy - flavorful and careful preparation at reasonable cost. My advice is to dine early - the place can get revved up and a bit too loud for conversation - but in a good way. Highly recommended - no surprise that they're still going strong after so many years and it never gets old."

CT has the largest percentage of
people with Italian heritage in America. Something like 20%. So, this state takes their Italian food very serious. Therefore, if you are a business person visiting Stamford from Dallas, Atlanta, or some place like Tucson I strongly recommend stopping in Siena. The service is warm and welcoming. The staff knows their wine list and makes good recommendations. I had the lentil soup and it was very good. I requested the linguine and clams with a spicy red sauce instead of the white sauce. They had no problem with my request. The dish was just what I needed to clear up my head from a week of travel. My co-worker had the dover sole. He enjoyed it very much. All the fish dishes are specials. Enjoy CT."
Dined on 10/4/2013
Great food, fast service that was
just a touch uppity. Perhaps the noisiest restaurant I've been in... very vibrant."
Dined on 10/3/2013
This place is a real gem with an
always changing authentic menu. Not the same old Italian found at other places in town but creative, well prepared dishes like chicken livers with fennel, pasta with fresh sardines, stewed octopus, etc. I inevitably order whatever the specials are and I am never disappointed. Owner Pasquale Conte is always in attendance making sure everyone is happy and they are."
Dined on 9/28/2013
Food was ok. Nothing spectacular.
Waiter forgot my guest and my order. Things were sent back, wine list was not up to date."
Dined on 9/13/2013
We are so lucky to have this
restaurant in Stamford, CT--the food is delicious, the wine list is fine, the service is very attentive, and we always enjoy our time here. We usually get a certain wine, and they had a special when we went this last time. The waiter offered us the new wine, but if we didn't like it, he said we could still have our old favorite--that was so nice! We had a lovely evening, and were made to feel special. We will be back."
Dined on 9/1/2013
We have lived in Stamford for many
years, it was only through a wonderful neighbors gift certificate did we have the opportunity to visit this wonderful restaurant. The Chef is very creative and every detail of the salad to the entrée was delicious and tasty. The staff is extremely professional and our experience at Siena will bring us back again and our extended family(from out of the area) as well. There is much to applaud; from the wine, food, staff and general atmosphere. We only wish we would have found this Gem earlier, but we plan to enjoy Siena from now on."
Dined on 8/25/2013
Great find. Overall enjoyable
experience. Easy walk to Palace Theater for pre/post concert dining."
Dined on 8/18/2013
This place is a hidden gem. It is
1 block off from "restaurant row" in Stamford on Summer Street and is a gem. My father and I went and as an Italian, he is quite picky and he loved it. The fresh ravioli was wonderful as was the fresh bread and the rest of the meal. The server was very attentive a well. If I am back in Stamford, I would definitely recommend checking this little place out."
Dined on 7/27/2013
The food at Siena is reliably
good, which is why we picked it to have dinner with friends who had not been there. But we have been there during the week, not a weekend, and perhaps early or late. This last visit was in the middle of the busy time on a Saturday night and the noise level was so intense that it really made it hard to enjoy anything. We were unable to engage in a conversation between 4 people--you had to pick one person, lean in and yell. In addition, the waiter couldn't hear my order and brought me the wrong dish. They were very nice about it, even left the incorrect dish at the table (though no one really wanted it), and they quickly made the one I had intended to order. So do go, but find a quiet time or sit outside."

Had dinner at Siena Tuesday July
9th. Met some friends there that we hadn't seen in a while and were busy catching up. The service attendant was pushy with wanting us to order. It wasn't that crowded - so we knew we weren't taking up a table with people waiting. My husband and I ordered a bottle of Pelligrino and he brought my husband a glass with a lime and he gave me a glass of tap water. I asked for a glass for the Pelligrino and he put a glass on the table. - Did not pour me a glass. After that we ordered our meal. My appetizer was good - I ordered a beet salad. It was quite good. I then ordered a Rigatoni dish. Too dry. Too bland. Dessert was good. Not thrilled with the attention or lack of it. For a Tuesday - not good."

My wife and I ate here twice in
the week of July 1st and both times the food and service were outstanding. I have celiac disease and must eat gluten free which this restaurant accomplished without missing a beat. They have gluten free pasta and will modify selections to accommodate gluten free. I mistakenly ordered the wrong enter and they took it back and changed the order happily. We brought gluten free bread and they offered to warm it up and served it ip just like their own bread. Our starters and entre's were wonderful as was their wine specials both nights. I grew up in Stamford and have lived in Manhattan, Wilmington and Houston and this is one of the best restaurants I have eaten in and certainly the best in Stamford."

Terrific restaurant. They treat
you like their family and really take care of you."
Dined on 7/4/2013
Our party of five enjoyed a
business dinner. Three different salads were ordered and got rave reviews -- the beet salad on arugula with goat cheese & candied walnuts was excellent. Two in the group thoroughly enjoyed the homemade ravioli, two had a fine branzino dish and the fifth praised the taglioini. The sorbet and gelato were tasty and two in the party loved the Limoncello cake. I will be back and would recommend to family & friends."

re-visiting! My husband and I have
been searching for a staple Italian place since moving out of the city nearly 16 months ago and I think we have finally found it in Sienna! Great food, good ambience and service and fair prices with authentic homemade pasta and intimate feel. Definitely try!"
Dined on 6/15/2013
Siena consistently (dined here
more than 10 years ago) provides all of the attributes of a Euro style trattoria - in a warm & comfortable space. The service is low key - but spot on. The food is very well prepared at reasonable price points compared to lesser competitors. I don't think this establishment would disappoint on any level. There's a reason they've survived for so long - every other guest seems to be a regular - You can't beat that !"
Dined on 6/2/2013
The servive was very good and the
food was excellent. The only detraction was the noise level, which approached unacceptable levels until late in the evening."
Dined on 5/5/2013
The food preparation is solid,
well prepared and very tasty Italian using excellent ingredients. No cutting corners here. And the specials are....well....special! Things like rabbit, lamb shank, polpi (incredibly tender!)....items you don't see every day on a menu. Plus the home made pasta is a fabulous, either as an entree or as a first course. There are always several fresh pasta on the menu. The staff is friendly and efficient. Walter (I think he's one of the owners) is very attentive and keeps on top of everything. Some might think the restaurant is a bit loud but I thought it had a great vibe...there are some sounds that are unpleasant and some that just denote energy and fun....this is all about energy and fun. I highly recommend it."
Dined on 5/3/2013
Siena was recommended by a local.
The restaurant is very small with many tables. Too noisy....hard to have a conversation at the table. However, the food was outstanding and the wine list perfect for pairing. Service was excellent. Seemed to cater to their regulars."
Dined on 5/11/2013
The wait staff was very attentie,
the food was delicious and atmosphere lively."
Dined on 5/1/2013
Food and service were good-
however the restaurant was exceptionally noisy."
