Sidney at Willoughby RunGreat but expensiveThe food, drinks, service, and ambience (stone porch with beautiful view) were wonderful and I even felt that it was with the cost BUT because the prices are so high, I will only be able to go there once in awhile and only for lunch.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMMy Mother's Day Giftfrom my husband was a special evening spent @ Sidneys @ Willoughby Run. The service was delightful, the food was flavorful and we will be going back for father's Day!5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful food at Willoughby! What I like the best - delicious and creative new plates to share! Try stinging nettle soup with fresh, local morels or Tempura of Nori-Wrapped Yellowfin Tuna! Awesome! I'll be going back soon!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMVery Special and ResonableWe dined at Sidney Willoughby Run for Mothers Day on Saturday night. We had not been there before and selected it for the chef and newness. We were seated outdoors, our request. We overlooked what looked like a golf course but instead was beautifully maintained land. The landscaping around the outside seating area was perfect. There was a built in fireplace so we will surely come back in cooler weather. The food was as we expected, over the top delicious. We shared the white pizza before our main course. Everything is 'small plates', so there were 4 perfect sized slices. We then made 2 selections each for our main course. Just fantastic. There was so many items to choose from! With 4 drinks the total came to $96! Very reasonable.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMNice surpriseWe were a group of 8 who booked the night before. Wonderful view. It was too cool to sit outside but would be terrific in the summer. Pleasant wine list with small and larger pours, great idea. Food was fresh, inventive without being precious. Service was good and appropriate for the setting. The inn itself is a little "clinical" and could use a little more elegance to go with the food. We could hear each other speak which is rare these days. I would say this is a find for those who like something different than the civil war type places there.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMSecond VisitWe visited Sidney in January upon returning our daughter to Gettysburg. The food is very creative and the staff very gracious and accommodating. We went back this past week, some really nice staples remained - burrata and mango salad and the tzatziki, hummus and olives. The tenderloin and short ribs were just wonderful. The weather contributed to lovely outdoor dining and the cover of the porch made for a delightful evening. Sidney is a unique place for very good food at prices that make it less a "regular" haunt, more for special occasions, but the calibre and freshness of the food and the welcome options for dining - outdoors, inside tables or at the bar, make the meal very worthwhile.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food in GettysburgWe really enjoyed our dinner at Sidney. Though small plates, a soup or salad and main are a nice-sized meal if you never learned about sharing. Fantastic food and beautiful enough presentations that I texted pictures to a food-blogging friend. If you're there in the spring, make sure to get the stinging nettle soup with crispy sweetbreads and wild mushrooms. And don't miss the dark chocolate tart with coconut gelato. Anyone who likes interesting preparations of very fresh ingredients should definitely put this on the Gettysburg to-do list.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMIt's all good @ Sidney's in G'burgWonderful evening. Small plates really not that small. Staff was wonderful and well trained. Food was outstanding.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMAs usual, it was wonderful. As usual, it was wonderful. Our dinner was marvelous. The Escargot, the Lobster, the Scallops and everything to perfection. As too, the dessert. Each new visit we plan to try new dishes which will undoubtedly be just as delightful as those we had this past Friday.
The best of luck to Chef Neil and his crew.
Thank you so much for one the nicest dinner experiences we've had for years.
Bravo!
With much love and good wishes,
Con and Janet Knorr3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMNY quality in the country!A gem in the midst of tourist oriented Gettysburg. Imaginative dishes, unusual preps, and perfectly size portions.
Perfect choice for a discriminating traveler looking for something different than average boring fare. Well priced for the quality of the dishes and service.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful find in Gettysburg.Wonderful find in Gettysburg. I like the small plates, which allow everybody at the table to share a variety of foods. Service was outstanding.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing and creative mealThe food and service were outstanding. It was a quiet night, but I think the service would still have been great. And the food was amazing -- from a polenta amuse bouche to some complimentary truffles after dinner. We shared the hummus/tzatziki starter, a great beet salad, and one of us had butternut squash ravioli and the other a great chicken dish. It was pricey but worth every penny. Go try Sideny at Willoughby Run!3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMHealthy Eating with AmbianceOur waiter, Tim, was excellent. He attentively served the entire room, never used a notepad to keep track of orders, and has a positive energy about him.
The selections on the menu lends itself to a wide variety of pallets. Nothing was overpowering in both taste and smell.
Smaller, healthier sized portions are perfect.
Noticed there were no condiments on the tables (salt, pepper, sugar) and congratulate the chef for confidently preparing dishes that needed no other seasoning.2/22/2013 12:00:00 AMAWESOMEIf you are a foodie, this is THE place! The menu was exciting, the waitstaff was friendly, and knowledgable. I really can't wait to go back!!
My best piece of advice, enjoy your dinner, but you MUST save room for dessert!2/9/2013 12:00:00 AM
