  • "had a brilliant dinner there on Saturday night, the food is exceptional/some of the best steak I have ever had. the steak was perfect and should be a once in a lifetime experience if nothing else. unfortunately the setting in the room really feels foreign to the pricing, but the food was so good I would go back. Wine list is great and very full but also pretty crazy priced. Go, eat steak and enjoy but dont dress up too much."

  • "Come to whistler twice a year, and we love to dine. Would definitely recommend it we have also talked about getting married in Whister and possibly having our dinner at side cut. Only things we did not like was Yukon potatoes were nothing great and the side of veggies tasted like veggies with a orientale flavour that did not fit. But steak was way above average ( had the 36oz steak) loved how the waiter cut it at the table. Also loved the dinning area and service was great! Awesome place and would come back"

  • "We wanted to dine at SIDECUT and discovered the 3 course tasting menu was available. Select an entree and the chef pairs it with an appitizer and salad. The infrared grill cooked my ribeye and my wife's tenderloin perfectly. Everything was delicious and we paired it with a BC Pinot Noir recommend by our server Bob. Overall a wonderful experience."

  • "Great steak dinner, absolutely loved it. Out server was great. Wine list is slightly overpriced, however the steaks were reasonably priced. The 56oz porterhouse (between 4) was amazing. Were there for a 30th Birthday, and went early and spoke with staff who confirmed they would bring out a birthday cake. After dinner no cake showed up, was disappointed."

We were also pleasantly surprised to see cigars on the dessert menu and the server informed us that Sidecut also had a licensed, outdoor patio to enjoy a libation with your cigar.   • "Waitress loud and bubbly wouldn't suit everybody but we loved her enthusiasm. Room a bit like a gentleman's club which I like but a bit bland. Food came promptly and well presented. I had Halibut - beautifully cooked and flavoursome. Desert looked lovely but too much thickener. Good choice of wines at affordable level. Bonus of 10% discount off food if Club Intrawest member."

  • "Four of us (two couples) had a very nice dinner at Sidecut. We all originally went with steak on our mind, but one of our group ended up ordering the seafood boullibaise, which he loved . The rest of us enjoyed delicious steaks that melted like butter on our tongues, which, when combined with the restaurant's various "rubs", resulted in wonderful meals. We had a table by the fireplace. Thoroughly enjoyed our evening, thanks Sidecut!"

  • "So disappointing. I've enjoyed better steaks at diners. Making it even worse are the over the top prices, more than several of the best and renown steakhouses in NYC. "Modern" steakhouse??? By modern they are speaking of rubs and sauces. The best beef requires minimal rubs and absolutely no sauce! Steak is cut from the bone tableside. Interesting marketable idea except that it takes a few minutes for the steak to arrive at your table, where it is set on a wood platter, then cut, placed on room temperature plates and served. This all leads to barely warm meat. Such a shame! SO many far better restaurants at Whistler."

  • "Have been twice before in past visits to whistler with memorable experiences and this time disappointed. It was a happening place at the start of bc spring break and the noise level was very high in the adjoining lounge area. A requested and confirmed round quiet table was not to be. The sommelier suggested there were lots of choice in my $80 price point but then recommended only bottles over $100 as the list offers not much really worth drinking below at the multiples charged based on the $70 one selected. The steaks were great all around but rubs we're over done on the salt, next time will ask for half the amount, but then likely not going back. Too bad as it's got such a great vibe but better options around for the money."

  • "We absolutely love Sidecut, we live in Whistler & its our favourite place to eat. It is quite expensive for our budget, so we can only afford to visit on special occasions, the food is amazing and always worth it. I usually rate it 5stars, but on this occasion I found the service to be a disappointing. No small talk attempt was made at all throughout the experience, until the cheque. He did ask if we were on vacation and we mentioned we live in Whistler, we feel the the service was lacking due to our status (young, living in Whistler with an english accent) He spent a lot more time at all his other tables around us. My husband also stated on the reservation that it was my birthday & there was no mention of this by the server."

  • "I was in Whistler for a medical conference at Fairmont, and was even advised by their conceirge to walk over to the Four Seasons to try Sidecut, which I did with a very important client. We ordered a number of appies (oysters, shrimp cocktail, steak sushi (AMAZING)), a few bottles of wine, lobster tails, grilled fish...it was all excellent. All the servers were friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Prices are a little steep (steaks started at around $47, highest was $380 (for a 56oz Porterhouse, 4 appies, a bottle of wine)), but they taste great. I had such a great time, the next night was free night away from the conference and I took my girlfriend here. She loved it also. Said it was one of the best New York Cut steaks she ever had."

  • "Whenever we visit whistler, sidecuts is on our list of restaurants to go to. The steak is the best I've had and the side dishes are just as good. They seemed to change the menu a bit since last time, the steak this time was much bigger, more than I really needed. Would probably share a steak next time and order an extra side dish. A little pricey but worth it."

  • "We enjoyed the best steaks we have ever eaten! The 1800 degree oven is fabulous! Our server was great and the a la carte side dishes allow you to eat as much or as little as you want. We each had the 6 oz filets which were cooked to perfect medium and medium rare. We shared the corn & polenta and tomato & arugula side dishes. We had a prosecco and lemon drop martini to start and both were delicious! We shared the summer beet salad to start and it was excellent! We each had a glass of Morellino red wine to start, which was wonderful! The only drawback was the family with 3 small children, including a fussy infant, who arrived at 9 pm. Although, the children were very well behaved."
