It was the best steak that I ever had. Thought this was simply a ploy using the legendary coach's name...WAY BETTER than expected!!! As good as any steak house we've ever been to, anywhere in the country! Cuts of meat were faboulous, cooked perfectly, wonderful side dishes - get the Lobster Mac & Cheese!

The young lady who takes people to their tables is very, very good, but the gentleman working at the reception area leaves much to be desired. I don't believe he is at all friendly. In fact, I find him to be rather oppositional. This steakhouse has such an eclectic customer base that they have got to be magicians to keep all the different types happy. Stability in the same managers and staff has to play into their success. We have decided that the day of the week changes this restaurant dramatically. It does reflect directly with the Show that is scheduled. The quality of the steaks and seafood are one of the best we have ever had. The Shula Feature that they offer (changes every quarter) gives us a reason to stop in each month. The manager accommodated our request for the Lobster Mash and the Fried Lobster Tail which is not on the menu. It is amazing how this place changes from a Racetrack gang to a quiet dinner back to a John Deere meeting place. Then Engelbert Concert pulled another age group(walkers &wheelchairs). Our group went out to another steakhouse close to the casino and decided to stay with Shula's the rest of the week. Have to be honest, we saw many people eating there that must have spent their paycheck on dinner. The table across from us wanted to know where the salad bar was? Then they got up and left-are you kidding me? Wild Horse Pass Shula's is a great place to enjoy a fabulous steak and the wines we had were much cheaper than our usual high end steakhouse. Our group cannot wait to get back for a great game of golf and the best steaks in the area. This year we actually had a guy that said Shula could not beat his steakhouse in Colorado. GUESS WHAT "He said it is just as good maybe even better in the quality of the steaks. We recognized the manager from the last few times we were in-he recommended two great bottles of wine that our VP googled and being the head guy he knew his stuff. He told us to have the bone in filet, the porterhouse and the bone in rib eye..they were all winners! The real king crab was authentic not those tiny legs and the stone crab still had that fresh sweet ocean taste. The service is GREAT! We took our friends to dinner for a really good steak. The restaurant is so LOUD when they are full. We had to calm down our guests the whole meal. With that annoying feeling by our guest it felt like the evening was going so slow. My wife finally told them that we normal enjoy a two hour meal not an eat n run supper. Our server was so patient with her tables, we have had her before and we enjoy our pace of the meal. Shula has a different start than other places, you are not attacked with a person pouring water and dropping bread down before our cocktails are even discussed. Special Occasion night all the way around. That 48 ounce Porterhouse is a "Hunger Killer" amazing quality. For a busy steak place they get it right. PURE BEEF no artificial flavoring. This is just a basic steak place no fancy sauces and pretty plates here. Everything is Big except the tables..they fill up really fast with the big plates. The bone in filet is not on the menu our server Joe recommended it along with a lobster tail it was "Killer". The wine guy knows his Vino and introduced us to bottle that did not break our wallets. We found a great steak house, wish it wasn't in a smokey environment. The manager gave us a great hint-Valet at the Hotel Enterance less smoke to deal with. Relaxed dinner place.12/20/2012 12:00:00 AM
