Our servers, Neil and Jim, timed everything perfectly so we did not feel rushed, but weren't starving either. You never leave Shula's hungry. The portions are always made for sharing. My steak was perfect, as always. This is by far my favorite restaurant. The understated elegant decor, in black and white with a beautiful wood floor, is comfortable and unpretentious, a perfect atmosphere in which to enjoy its fine food. When the food is served the waiter always waits to see if the steak is cooked properly. On this occasion, my wife's meat was slightly overcooked. The waiter agreed and said they would redo it. What was extraordinary, he reached across and took my plate saying they would redo my steak also so that we could eat together. I have never experienced such fine service anywhere. The restaurant was not crowded so we were seated right away. The selections available on the buffet were plentiful, and there was an made to order omelet station. It was a night so deserved for her and the staff and Shula's was nothing short of extroundary!! We were welcomed with a great hostess and the table I reserved was ready with the flowers I ordered. Appetizer consisted of 2 scallops. Staff was attentive and professional, although I was never asked about my steak other than a flashlight shined on it when served. Free champagne and a piece of chocolate cake was a nice touch and added to our special occasion.

Making the reservations on line was simple and all instructions were followed. The service was very professional. We've had our server before and the service as always was excellent. They even followed up on the phone to ask if everything was good. Nice! The food was excellent as always. Steaks cooked perfectly. The Onion Soup was a little less "rich" than usual. Not sure why, but it was still good. We'll be back. Also, don't forget to signup for membership in their "club." My husband and I have what we call "fine dining Saturdays" where we try out a different restaurant every week. We aren't allowed to go back to the same restaurant twice unless it's a special occasion. I picked Shula's to go back to for my birthday. Steaks are cooked exactly how they are supposed to be cooked and are incredible. Looking forward to more special occasions so that I can choose Shula's again! We have been to most of the famous steakhouses here ... Ruth's Chris, Fleming's, Charley's, Salt Rock, Bern's, Malio's, The Palm, etc. Shula's is top on the list. The standard salad was a little lacking or maybe it was the vinegarette. Everyone at our table had different cuts of beef and the consensus was the porterhouse was the winner although the filet was a close second. After missing our connection in Tampa and being required to stay overnight, it was very welcome to have been greeted by the manager on duty that day and the server and offered whatever we wished to have for dinner. We wanted a quiet yet ambient atmosphere with food choices, and we found them there.
