A word from Shula's Steak House- Miami Beach
The theme for Shula's Steak House is a virtual museum of the 1972 Miami Dolphins' 17-0 perfect season, the NFL's only unbeaten team. The décor includes pictures and game balls from the '72 season. The menus are hand painted on NFL footballs then personally hand signed by Coach Shula himself.

  • "My wife and I enjoy going Shula's whenever there is one in the nearby vicinity. Our excursion to Shula's Miami Beach was a disaster. I had the Cowboy Ribeye, which arrived extremely tough to chew. The manager was kind enough to have it replaced, which arrived after my wife finished her meal. The remaining order included: charred, burnt grilled asparagus; the baked potatoes came out warm, hard, and the center barely cooked. My wife ordered wine to have with her dinner; never got it. The waiter paid full attention to one customer, note others. My checked arrived with full charges for the ribeye, filet mignon, wine, and no discounts. We will definitely not go back to Shula's Miami Beach."

We were a party of four and each had a different cut and all were served at correct level of doneness. If you want a steak properly prepared with fresh sides, this is your place.   • "The service started out great and went downhill. I asked for another glass of wine when our food was delivered but did. It receive it until I was almost finished eating. I also asked 3 times. Everything was very good except the steak. It was mediocre. The ambience is very old world steak house which is find of fun today. I asked some stats about football other than Don Shula's perfect season and no one knew the answers. My main question was who was the quarterback that season. Someone on the staff should have known that!"

A part from the service food is not as good as Morton's. Meet was to cooked when we asked for a rare done and for that price it was not acceptable. I'm sure I will never come back."

  • "We arrived at 845 pm and there was no one to talk to to be sited till 3 min later a lady shows up, were not sited till 20 min after and we're told to sit at the bar. Where there was no bar tender for 15 of the 20 we waited. Service was great. But we order appetizers and took almost an hr to show up and the main course well we didn't get it till 1030pm so it was a very bad experienced and I did not expect so bad timing with food."

  • "This is not the first time for my wife and I to visit Shula's. We went once before in "off season" and it was very quiet and the service was magnificent. Forward to "in season". A very different world. Very crowded, noise level high and service was very good but not excellent. The food as always was magnificent and the portions huge. The manager stopped by to chat with us and it was a pleasant conversation. Everyone was working very hard to produce the type of service required for a pricey establishment. For those who have had an experience where the service was slow within the past few weeks, I must say, if you want fast food, go to McDonalds; if you want magnificent food dine at Shula's."

  • "Decor- 80's green, with wood paneling. Servers were not trained on fine dining techniques, not attentive at all. They almost seem confused, and did not communicate with each other. Was asked multiple times the same question by different team members. For the price I will go to BLT or Juvia. I am a local, and will not recommend. Food was ok, good cuts of meat, not seasoned very well though. One steak ordered med, was brought as wrong cut first time, sent back, in an effort to rush a new one was sent. Temp on the rushed cut was clearly med rare. A steakhouse that can't cook steaks or season them for that matter, is a no go. Choose another steakhouse please."

  • "Shula's is still celebrating the 1972 Miami Dolphins championship season which is no surprise given the age and feel of this location. When you first arrive you have to meander through your 'grandparents' apartment building to find the restaurant on the mezzanine at the back of the hotel. The decor is so 1980's which suits the restaurant if you are still celebrating the 1972 season. The food was "eh" and not as good as BLT which was near our hotel. it is a $15 cab ride from Miami Beach and takes about 15 minutes to wait for a taxi back. Do yourself a favor and only go there to celebrate your grandparents 50th Wedding Anniversary. They will enjoy it especially if they live upstairs."

I sometimes join friends to all of these trendy places and spend as much or more than what I spent at Shulas for an amazing ambiance, wonderful service and delicious food. The food and service and service speaks for itself. If you're in the mood for a delicious steak dinner, don't think it about too long, you'll find it at Shulas."

  • "We had a Gilt City certificate and were given a special menu to order from. When we ordered, I asked about some of the cuts. Other Shula's locations/steakhouses have done a fine job of this. My waiter shrugged. Later on, we saw a cart being rolled to other tables to show the various cuts of meat to them before they ordered. Maybe Gilt City customers don't get this kind of service. service. Wine- Meh Calamari fries- Too thick. Not enough fry. Meh. Caesar salad- Heavy dressing, but tasty Potato gratin- Very good. Porterhouse- Fatty and rare even though I ordered medium rare definitely rare. Trio of creme brulee with peanut brittle- Yum. It was the highlight of the meal Service- Slow, unfriendly"

  • "Visited Shula's to celebrate New Year's Eve while vacationing in Miami Beach. When we arrived for reservation, was told it could be awhile before we would be seated. Had drinks in bar while waiting, however, bar was understaffed and two of us never got change after paying for our drinks. After getting seated 40 minutes later than our reservation time, the waiter was not welcoming or friendly. We asked to have two separate checks when we ordered and he would not accommodate us. When food arrived, one order was completely missing and one steak was overdone, therefore two of us ended up eating after the rest of our group was finished. It was a very expensive dinner for a disappointing night and food was only average. I would not recommend."

We had the definite impression that we would have received the same high quality of service even if the room were filled. The service was very good and the food was excellent.   • "Food was outstanding but drink service delayed and waiter must listen then write it down and then delver what was ordered and then perform an auto fix if something is wrong ... example the couple with us asked to share a wedge salad a single wedge was delivered with two dishes having the couple cut and transfer the wedge along with the dressing.... when brought to the waiter's attention it should have triggered an immediate removal and return with it split for them not defend what was delivered .... very small issues experienced with timeline of various services drinks, food, dessert etc however great steaks and sides .... :-)"

  • "Ambiance was gloomy. We had the BBQ shrimp app, 4 Ribeyes, 1 Filet, 2 sides of mashed & 1 steak fries. Not impressed at all. Steaks were plain-no flavor, no seasoning & not tender. The mashed were the blandest we have ever had--like they came out of a box. No one came back to ask how are meals were. We added choc lava cake, key lime pie & crème brulee for Dessert (all good), 1 glass of wine 1 beer & water. Our meal was just over $422 and was a HUGE disappointment. They only thing that would turn this experience into a good one, would be a refund! We wont go back--ever! (Last Monday we had almost the identical meal at one of our hometown restaurants...bread, appetizer, 4 Ribeyes, potatoes & salads. It was just over $100 & was phenomenal.)"
