After a 9-hour drive, the thought of either fast food or a chain restaurant weren't too appealing. A friend recommended Shula's 347 Grill, which was a quick drive around the corner from our hotel. Once inside, you don't feel like you are dining at the Sheraton. The menu has many items to choose from - including entree salads, sandwiches and smaller fare - before hitting the steak selections. My ribeye was a perfect Pittsburgh. The mushrooms served with it were oddly cold, but that's really my only complaint. Service was great. Almost felt human again after a nice meal on the road.

The bartender was great and the service was good. The food came out in a reasonable manner, however, how this place gets to charge $36 for steak is beyond me. If you want to go grab margaritas and wings and watch a game, go there. But if you're looking for anything more than that you'll be disappointed.

We arrived at our reservation time and immediately seated in a very uncomfortable booth. We're told our server would be there shortly. At least 6 different wait staff walked by our table without acknowledgement with several even smiling at us. After 15 minutes we got up and left. Won't go back.

Second visit to Shula's. Enjoyed the vibrant bar scene. Most of the food for our party of eight was very good Sea Bass was overcooked/dry and I sent it back. The chef prepared another portion and it was good.

food was very good, service excellent. I've been to Shula's in other towns. This one seemed a little scaled back, but was still a nice place to go for our anniversary dinner. Steak prepared just as asked for and server checked to make sure temp was right. My wife's scallops were also well prepared and she was very pleased. Desserts were also excellent.

Service and food was good at best. Waiter was sincere and engaging but not familiar with menu! Entire staff seemed inexperienced with a upscale dining experience. used on-line reservations and mentioned it was my wife's b-day...no acknowledgement! (why ask for comments) Never again.

Our food was absolutely fantastic! My compliments to the chef! This was one of the best meals we have enjoyed in a long time. The atmosphere here was a nice blend of a casual sports bar and an upscale fine dining modern restaurant. Kayleigh was an excellent server. Our water was never less than half full. Our plates were promptly removed when finished. She was very professional and attentive, definitely made our experience complete! Our only regret was that we had not been here sooner. I highly recommend visiting Shula's 347 Grill!

I have been to other Shula Steakhouses and had very good meals, but this was an exception especially given the prices were not cheap (8 oz Filet Mignon was $31) and was not close to several competitors in the quality and flavor department. I had the Ahi Tuna (asked for it rare as always) and the tempurature was fine but the texture and quality were lacking and it was no where near as good as Bonefish grill and it cost more! Lastly the atomospere was lacking kind of a cross between a hotal sports bar and a lower end steakhouse decor. Service was prompt and good, but for me the first thing is the food and you can put up with a lot of service issues if the dinner you receive is hot, flavorful and a good value, which was not the case here.

Like always we had a great meal at Shula's. While it is a little pricey I feel that one can get a meal and service that compares to restaurants that would cost twice as much. The steaks are always cooked perfect. There are several very nice wines on this list that will not break the budget. A very nice dinner for in the $150 range (including a proper tip)- with wine, appetizer & dessert I think is a great value. Most restaurants in the area that dinner would be well over $200 Be mindful of sports schedules. If there are games on the TV in the bar area it can get rather loud from the fans of whichever team/sport is playing. The outside dining is nice if it is not too hot. But there you get some noise from the highway.

The chicken satay for $11 was good, but the tuna for $23 was frozen and watery. Side of sweet potato fries for $6 was out of a bag. Cowboy steak $30 was ok, could have gone to texas steakhouse for same steak. Not worth the $81 dollars total.

4 of us enjoyed a dinner there Saturday. Not crowded and good was good for price paid. Server was attentive although drink orders took a while to come to table and we would of ordered an extra round if he was around more. He got our order correct, (one of us ordered rockfish) and when order came out it was halibut (which we didn't even see on menu?) they were apologetic and manager came over I asked if they could bring out her sides since rest of us had our orders....total wait was around 10minutes to bring her order but no complaints about quality. Granted this is Roanoke, but servers were friendly and that's what counts in our book. Will return in future, nice place

Very pleased with service, food, and atmosphere. We had a poor service experience in April 2013 and decided to give Shula's another try. This time around, we saw marked improvement in the same server that served us last April and have always enjoyed the delicious food and atmosphere at Shula's. I would highly recommend the wild mushroom ravioli as well as the Shula cut ribeye steak!

I'm a chef, I work in and live in Lynchburg. My father, retired lives in Blacksburg. We often split the drive between both cities to meet up and dine in Roanoke. We decided on Shula's 347 for dinner. My father and I got the blackened beef tips for an appetizer, they were fantastic!! My father got the filet Mignon served with Bearnaise for an entree and loved it!! I got the Shula burger cooked to a perfect "requested" mid-rare and really enjoyed it as well. The meal was excellent, but I thought the service from our waitress was outstanding! She was very knowledgeable about the menu, brought a great smile and wit to the table, was attentive and timely in her service, and was just a perfect complement to our experience. We will be back!

The snow storm of 2014 caused us to celebrate Valentine's day on the 15th but it was worth the wait. I have a Spare Rib Grilled Cheese with the most amazing cheese ever on it and it was awesome, So were my fancy smashd potatoes. My date just had a salad and a loaded baked potato but he loved it as well. The prices were midrange making it a nice place to go for a special occasion. I felt like i got my money's worth out of the meal and that is important!! Also, the booth we sat in was comfortable and my cup never got empty!

I've been to Shula's before. My experience before was pleasant. This time around, the food was ok, I ordered the grilled chicken wrap that hardly had any chicken in it, but had plenty of greens and tomatoes that I requested to be left off. The only thing good on my plate was the sweet potato fries and part of my husbands steak. My husband ordered the Cowboy steak and it was delicious. The staff was friendly, but looked a bit disorganized. The hostess was disheveled and mumbled the entire time. My husband and I couldn't understand her. She was playing two roles: hostess and bus boy. I stood at the front waiting for my reserved table for at least 10 min. The other staff noticed we waiting and said nothing.

Was disappointed with our dinner. We heard about it and gave it a try on a Wed night. Not very crowded. Drinks at the bar overpriced and service okay. Our dinner veges and potatoes were cold when served. I had fish which was good and hubby had steak that was okay. Overall bill much higher than we would have expected from a chain hotel restaurant. Other places in town better food and better priced-Alexander's and Table 50 are just 2. Will not return

Overall it was an A minus. Went there New Years Eve. The staff & service were excellent. We arrived early for our 7 PM reservation and were seated promptly. When reserving, we did not specify a booth but our hostess found one for us. The wine list selection was good. Salads and sides were excellent. The steaks came out a little less than hot, but tasted great. All of the staff were friendly and we had more people than our own server stop by the table. We will return. This was our first visit for dinner. I had had lunch previously at the Richmond West Location.

Ate at Shula's for my BD. Dinner was OK, not what I expected. Specific complaints: we had to ask twice for bread, the bearnaise sauce was brought at least 5 minutes after the steak was delivered and it was cold, and the waiter did not offer us desert; he just brought the check. Food was good, not great. Our appetizer was brought by one waiter, salad by another and the main course by the waiter who took our order. Would be much better to keep the same person responsible for the whole meal. I had the strip steak which came with vegis. The steak looked really small on the huge platter/plate. Bad visuals. Shula's has a special Sat. prime rib dinner. We will go back for that to give it one more try. We hope for a better result.
