A word from Shuckers World Famous Raw Bar & Cafe
Seen in the Boston Globe, New York Times, USA Today, Country Living, Fox News Zip Trip and Chronicle no wonder this fun and casual restaurant has been around for 31 years.
With some of the best seafood, drinks and prices you’re sure to enjoy this nothing-fancy, just fun atmosphere while you have lunch or dinner watching the boats sail by, right on the dock or on our own floating barge. So leave your worries behind sit in the sun or under our awning, crack open a lobster, slide down a few oysters, order some fresh Sushi or eat a huge healthy salad. Come at night and dine under the stars while savoring our fresh local fish, prime meats or our new lighter side menu. Fresh squeezed cocktails, cool music and ice cold beer await you if your waiting for the ferry, had a hard week of work, on vacation or coming from the island. Kids and dogs are always welcome as long as their parents behave. Come and enjoy the cape the way locals do.

Diner Reviews
  • "The food was delicious, the presentation extremly inviting and the ambiance truly Cape Cod"

  • "We sat out on the barge which was a cool experience and the view was awesome. Our waitress was attentive and friendly and the seafood chowder was delicious!! The only downside to our evening was that 6 out of 8 entrees came out with sides that were so cold they seemed to have been recently in the fridge...our waitress brought out new, hot sides for all but that kind of took away from the experience. Overall it was good but I think a smaller group may have better luck getting their food hot on the first try."

  • "A great local on the docks in Woods Hole in Falmouth, make this ideal dinner experience. The food is great, and everything during the evening made for a very enjoyable dinner."

  • "We've been going to Shuckers for years and we've never been disappointed. The seafood chowder is the best chowder I've ever had, the portions are enough that we always bring home a doggie bag, the outside dock seating makes you feel like you're eating on a boat in the ocean and overall the staff is attentive. This outing at Shuckers our party of 5 had: chowder, oysters, lobster boil and lobster risotto, all of which was delicious!!! I love that now we can make reservations."

  • "Whenever we want a special treat for just us OR when family are visiting Falmouth and we want to give them a SPECIAL dining experience, SHUCKERS IN WOODS HOLE, MA is the EASY AND BEST SOLUTION. Outstanding food, great prices, wonderful and caring hosts, great dining staff, ALWAYS a welcome setting with kind and caring people. We have brought all size groups to Shuckers, always perfect. Children we bring love it. The setting is charming and the view is really special. Of all the places to dine in the Falmouth/Woods Hole area, this is our favorite!!! Thank You Dick & Marge Kochanek"

  • "The food was amazing, and also the place with the views of the harbour."

  • "The food was quite good although the dressing on the Caesar Salad tasted bottled rather than fresh. Everything else was very tasty - oysters, crab cakes, chowder, lobster risotto, lobsters, mac and cheese with lobster, etc. However the service was awful with our party of 7 with literally no one else in the restaurant for a late 9:15 reservation. Our guests were not provided with plates for their sharing of a lobster boil for two, everything including appetizers that we asked for "first" came out at once, etc. Very disappointing to us as we were entertaining guests from outside of the country and frankly, we were embarrassed."

  • "Shuckers is what it is - a good place to get straight-forward seafood. Lobster special was great. My son had fish tacos which were just ok. Chowder is good as well. This isnt a fancy place so dont order fancy dinner items and you probably wont be disappointed. Wish their beer selection was better"

  • "We dined here last night and I still am annoyed; while it was not particularly expensive, the bill was still well over $200 for 4 of us, and 2 were not drinking. For that, i expect better than cafeteria food. If you are only going to have chowder, you will have a great meal. The chowder was delicious. Everything else stunk. Lobster Mac and cheese managed to overlook the pasta to the point of mush and the lobster, which was all chopped up, had no flavor. The risotto appetizer was glop, covered with breadcrumbs, which were pointless. Fish was over cooked and the asparagus with it was not trimmed...it tasted like eating wood."

  • "I was looking for a great place to take my sister and brother-in-law visiting from New Hampshire. I found everything I was looking for and more at Shuckers World Famous Raw Bar and Café in Woods Hole. The food was fabulous, the water view was beyond gorgeous and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. We will be dining at Shuckers again. Thanks for making a memory for all of us."

  • "Traveling from Oregon, we were looking forward to a true New England seafood experience..we got much more than that! The seafood was perfect and most surprisingly so was the prime rib. It was served without horseradish or juice because it didn't need it. Excellent bloody Mary and beer brewed by owner. We won't forget this superb meal. Our waitress, Cailyn, helped us with our choices and kept the beers flowing."

  • "The place was great! the menu had a wide selection that had something for everyone in our group. Specificly the Lobster Mac & Cheese was awesome. The cocktails (fresh squeezed) and martinis tasted great.Although it was early in the season we were still warm under the awning and had great views. We will be back"

  • "Or food was great. The baked stuffed lobster had lobster stuffing and my wife's baked stuffed scrod was so tasty. I would highly recommend to any seafood lover (they did have non seafood dishes). The location surely pleased."

  • "Awful seafood!! salmon had no flavor at all, not even fish. Lobster was small for price and raw oysters were outrageously priced for how many you received."

  • "Shuckers has a great twin lobster for $24 special on Tuesdays. There are no reservations between 5:30-8P, but if you get there before 6:30P, I didn't see anyone wait. The view is wonderful, out over Eel Pond and the boats moored there. Drinks are very fairly priced, which is unusual for the Cape. The lobster was fine, but I wouldn't go for any of the other dishes we had - lobster mac and cheese, fish tacos, cod... The mashed potatoes were overbeaten and the steamers were dry. Maybe the food is better on a non-special night, but if you do have a craving for lobster on Tuesdays, it's a good enough deal."

  • "This is a casual place on the water in Woods hole with great seafood. Had the fish chowder (more seafood then clam) and Lobster boil special. Have had larger lobster but the none as sweet plus it cam with steamers and mussels and corn on the cob. This a great place to relax and enjoy the view - owner brewed light beer is very good!"

  • "The food was cold, we left hungry with the minimal but expensive portion sizes. Lobster bisque was cream with one teeny piece of lobster in it. Server was unsure of the type of oysters. Could be a great place if they tried."

  • "Love coming here. A very unique waterside restaurant and the food is always great. Friendly staff and owner always around. Down an alleyway but don't let that scare you. It's the best restaurant in woods Hole. It's a must for my family when we visit cape cod."

  • "We spent a few days in woods hole and the staff at the motel recommended the restaurant for its twin lobster dinner. While a good deal the lobsters were a bit over cooked Servers were very nice We sat at the bar after dinner to watch baseball. We attempted to order coffee drinks and the first bartender said there wasn't any coffee left. After sitting for a few minutes longer another bartender asked if we wanted anything and I told her we wanted coffee. She immediately had a waitress make a fresh pot and he attentiveness totally turned our whole evening around."

  • "If you love sea food this is the place for you I would Pick the lobster special over the lobster roll Lobster Was fresher"

  • "We've been dining at Shuckers for years and have always enjoyed the food. This year the food -- all of it -- was terrible. The lobster in the iconic lobster roll was dry. The mac & cheese with lobster was literally inedible ... cheap pasta with some cheese sprinkled on it and pieces of dry, salty lobster."

  • "Worse restaurant visit ever. The staff kept complaining they were busy as it was the 4th of July weekend. However, they got so many things wrong that I cannot see how they are in business. The diet coke (both glasses) was flat. The bread was stall. The staff was not very accommodating with respect to elderly patron in our group that got cold when the sun went down and would not re-seat us in open tables in shielded part of the restaurant or put on the gas heaters. It took 1+ hour to get our dinners which arrived cold including a boiled lobster dinner and barely cooked salmon. Given how bad some many things were at the place it is hard to believe any of the 5 star rating are legitimate."

  • "On july 4th for a 6:45 pm reservation, after ordering, we (a group of 7) had to wait for about 1 hr until food was served - when asked, the manager had the nerve to say 'it was only 57 min', he never apologized and on top we were automatically charged a gratuity for the service - the worst eating experience in a long time"
    Dined on 7/5/2013
  • "It was excellent. The service and food could not have been better. The outdoor seating was wonderful. I would recommend this gem to anyone who is visiting Falmouth...... The prime rib was equally as good as the twin lobsters..."

  • "A neat little restaurant tucked away in the quaint town of Woods Hole. Our table was situated right on the scenic harbor, overlooking a variety of sail boats. Our server was very friendly and was well versed with all the menu items. We all enjoyed the fresh seafood dishes that must have come right off the boat. Each of us received a complimentry chocolate after-dinner brownie that hit the spot! The white wine was served in a chilled glasses...and not pricey. It was a great dining experience and we would return in a heartbeat. Take it from someone who has been in the hospitality industry for 40 years...this was a fantastic Cape Cod treat! Casual attire a must! PS. Try the Scallops."

  • "Had a gift certificate, should have asked some friends before going. Waitress spilt drink everywhere, which wasn't even upsetting. But the food wasn't good at all. 3/4 of us got chowder and bisque, wasn't hot, and the meat was tough. Bruschetta looked like it came out of a frozen container. Ordered a frozen margarita and got a watery slushy. Staff was extremely friendly but it's not worth it to go for the food. :("
