A word from Shorebreak Lodge
Coastal gastropub cuisine, eclectic wine, handcrafted cocktails, cold beers, laid back livin', all just 133 steps from the Atlantic Ocean.

Blurring the boundary between a night in with friends and an evening on the town, we are a locally owned and operated establishment.

Our kitchen’s mantra comes from Julia Child: "You don't have to cook fancy or complicated masterpieces, just good food from fresh ingredients."

In other words, we choose not to get in the way of the food—we’d rather let the ingredients speak for themselves.

And if a drink is all you need, we’ve got you covered. Tasty craft beers on draft, great wines from all over the world and a cocktail list like you’ve never seen before.

We bring all of this to your table every night, in a relaxed beach cottage atmosphere, with the friendliest service we know how to give.

There you have it: Shorebreak Lodge.

We enjoy the food here. Delicious! Love the wings, succotash and kimchee mash! Bummed creme brûlée wasn't on the menu this time but wouldn't deter me from going back again and again.

  • Food this good at the beach?

One of the big downsides of going to the beach is that the food is usually mediocre at best. Not so at Shorebreak Lodge! My wife and myself were both surprised at how good the food was and wouldn't hesitate to eat at Shorebreak Lodge again when visiting Rehoboth. The service could have been better. The place was packed and the servers were very busy, but somehow our server still found time to sit down and visit with friends in a booth next to ours. Oh well, that's Lower, Slower Delaware! Bottom line. Don't miss this place the next time you're visiting Rehoboth Beach.

My wife and I came into town and after having heard great things, decided to try Shore Break Lodge for dinner and we were extremely happy we did. Our server Darrell, was Uber attentive without being obtrusive and the food was out of this world. The very best shrimp and grits I have ever had, and the surf and turf is amazing! Not your usual surf and turf, either, it consists of braised short ribs, scallops and a creamy risotto. ..ridiculous delicious. Add to that a perfectly crafted Manhattan and some killer cabernet (Freakshow is a steal at $12 a glass) and you have a perfect meal. Would have loved to try dessert, but I was pleasantly stuffed at that point. Cheers to shorebreak lodge, keep up the great work, outstanding!

We were in Rehoboth for a few days and went to dinner here one night and Henlopen oyster house the next. I enjoyed the food (I got rigatoni; boyfriend got short ribs), but we both preferred Henlopen oyster house. We would definitely return though - server was great, wine was delicious and over all, food was great.

I visited Shorebreak Lodge on the last weekend of summer, and it was delightful. The food is unique, and the servers are happy to explain what the dishes consist of. I had the spiced lamb and chorizo meatloaf on top of "kimchi mash" (mashed potatoes with kimchi in it), and it was delightful. The sauce on the meatloaf was pleasant, and the kimchi hidden in the potatoes was a pleasant surprise. Our drinks were never empty, the servers were kind and patient, and we were seated on comfy sofas.

We have been to Rehoboth many times and never knew about this place. After reading the reviews( which were dead on accurate) we decided to give this a try. What a treat! The menu is rather eclectic but the helpful and attentive wait staff can guide you through all of the choices. Serving sizes are quite ample, so be prepared to share.this place is truly a gem! Do not be put off by the name...this is not a hotel dining room. The mussels, baked brigand naan, fried chicken skin and tautog wear well prepared and extremely flavorful. You will not find a better upscale eatery in Rehoboth. Brace your taste buds and go, it is well worth it!

This place was recommended by friends and will be recommended again by us. Very imaginative menu and good portion size. Food was awesome, no overpowering flavors and everything on the plate complemented the overall dish. Parking at the beach area is always tough, we spent a good 20 mins finding a spot quarter of a mile from the restaurant. But, if you really want an amazing meal, this is well worth the walk/drive.

Stopped in Rehoboth with my wife and infant daughter for a quick meal on our way to Bethany Beach. Staff was accommodating of our family and even gave us happy hour drink prices at the table because we could not sit at the bar. We had the short ribs and scallops, as well as the Brussels sprouts and bacon. The scallops were cooked perfectly and the short ribs had a lot of flavor. Great service and worth stopping by if in town and looking for a great meal by the beach with a good beer menu.

LOVED IT! Appreciate our waiters recommendations - they were all delicious. Really enjoyed the fancy fries and Thai chili wings. The highlight was the deckle steak and kimchee mash. Even better then we hoped. Also had the succotash, risotto and creme brûlée, all of which we would order again. Defineitely going back and bringing our friends next time. Nice variety on the drink menu as well.

Shorebreak...always fresh, fun, funky! Plenty of energy, yet relaxed servers who are personable and attentive. Great vibe in the bar and front dining area with plenty of energy. Great cocktails--give the spicy orange or spicy pineapple maritnis a try! And we especially love the healthy, farm-to-table sides that come with each dish. Don't be afraid to taste the octopus appetizer. We recommend this hot spot to anyone.

I'm so glad we decided to try The Shorebreak Lodge. There are so many good restaurants in Rehoboth, taking a chance on a new place felt like a risk but we will definitely be back repeatedly. The decor is hip, relaxing, clean, and fun. The seasonal menu is fresh and sounds interesting, presentation and flavor are really something special. Service was extremely fast and friendly without feeling rushed. We had the surf & turf (scallops & short rib -- one of the best scallop preparations I've ever had) and a vegetarian pasta dish that was absolutely loaded with balance and flavor. Desserts are house prepared and you can tell. Definitely give this place a try, you won't be sorry!

The food here was excellent. I ate with my two other girlfriends on a Saturday night, and we ate on the patio. The beet salad was yummy. I had the day boat scallops that came with corn. There were 4 large scallops in the entree size but they were available as an appetizer size with 2 scallops. There were multiple dishes available as appetizer or entree size. We also got a couple sides to share - charred vegetables and Parmesan risotto. Both good but not anything special. We had wine by the glass, of which there was a reasonable selection. The service was excellent. Knowledgable server and not in any way intrusive. I have also eaten here with my husband and we both thought this was an excellent restaurant.

We reserved a table for four at 7. We got there around 6:45, and we were shocked at how crowded the area was. It took my husband half of an hour to find a spot 4 blocks away. Before my husband came, our waiter was very friendly and kind. We ordered the tomato tapanad and it was very tasty but a bit spicy. The garlic bread was also very delicious and not too garlicky. I orderd the beet salad, which was very good and fresh. For our main course, I orderd plain shrimp and French fries. The French fries were outstanding. I usually am not one to eat a whole plate of French fries but I did! My husband orderd the mahi fish, which he said was very good and not fishy. My son got a burger which he loved. Finally,we had the risotto was outstanding.

The food was good but the staff was not as familiar with the menu as would have been helpful. Questions about allergies, sauces and sides weren't answered in a helpful way or we were advised they the staff member didn't know. She also didn't offer to check with the chef, so while the food was good, we might have made different choices based on more informed answers.

This was our second time eating at this restaurant. It was another very good meal. Our favorite is the Surf & Turf with the scallops and parm risotto. My oldest daughter had the grilled octopus and said it was just as good as the octopus she had while traveling in Italy. We ate at the restaurant with our three children (youngest is 8) and there was something for everyone. (My youngest enjoyed the Thai Chili Wings - the chef put the sauce on the side in case it was too hot - but my daughter really liked it.) The restaurant is very close to the boardwalk so it was easy to go for a stroll after dinner.

We'd been here once before and enjoyed the small plates, but we do not remember the food as spicy. Who would think that tomato olive tapenade would be loaded with red hot peppers, delish but quite spicy. Those peppers also turned up on roasted brie on naan but were easier to pick out. They do have a "secret" children's menu, although I really did not think it was a place for kids it works in the summer and early. Later on I think it is more of a bar scene.
