A word from Shorebreak Lodge
Coastal gastropub cuisine, eclectic wine, handcrafted cocktails, cold beers, laid back livin', all just 133 steps from the Atlantic Ocean.

Blurring the boundary between a night in with friends and an evening on the town, we are a locally owned and operated establishment.

Our kitchen’s mantra comes from Julia Child: "You don't have to cook fancy or complicated masterpieces, just good food from fresh ingredients."

In other words, we choose not to get in the way of the food—we’d rather let the ingredients speak for themselves.

And if a drink is all you need, we’ve got you covered. Tasty craft beers on draft, great wines from all over the world and a cocktail list like you’ve never seen before.

We bring all of this to your table every night, in a relaxed beach cottage atmosphere, with the friendliest service we know how to give.

There you have it: Shorebreak Lodge.

Diner Reviews
  • "Locally sourced ingredients and an eclectic menu of meats, seafood and small plates. Everything is super-fresh, and the preparations are unfussy yet inventive. The grilled octopus was sublime."

  • "We had to go back here for the octopus appetizer... not for the ladies in our group, but for the gents...! This is a nice restaurant and the service is excellent, food is very good."

  • "Took my husband and 2 kids. My daughter is a picky 13 year old. Still eats of the kids menu if possible. She was able to get her chicken nuggets while the rest of us were able to get some really good food. I had the shrimp and grits and it was wonderful. Wait staff was attentive. Water glasses were kept full even after we had paid the bill."

  • "it took me 3 years to go there and l live 10 minutes away. upon opening the place looked like it was furnished from a dump so l assumed it wasn't worth going there.boy, was l wrong. the dishes we had, kale salad shrimp & grits, swordfish was some of the best of it's kind anywhere. we had an argentine rose for about $23 that was worth much more. their prices were more than reasonable given the quality. the hostess, server, food runners and especially the manager were top notch, all very professional yet very friendly. can't wait to return."

  • "Unexpected great little restaurant in Rehoboth. Our food was fantastic and The waiter was very professional. My only complaint was that it was loud. Cannot wait to go again!"

  • "Our family of 5 was looking for a place for dinner on the Saturday night of July 4th weekend. No easy task. I saw that Shorebreak Lodge could take us at 8:30. I had been last summer and thought it was good, so I introduced my family to it. Success all around. My 20 something niece liked the atmosphere and we all liked the food. Swordfish, tuna, lamb meatloaf, and a hearty shrimp and grits appetizer as an entree were all hits. My sister didn't love the strawberry/blueberry puff pastry dessert, but overall a great meal!"

  • "I can't stop talking about this place. I'm obsessed with it. The menu constantly changes and everything is delicious. Perfect for sharing small plates and there are do many things to try. I love the Thai wings, the Brie served with deliciousness and the mussels. Can't wait to go again!"

  • "We had 5 adults and 2 kids under 10. We were able to make a reservation easily. We arrived and were seated near a large party who had been dining for over an hour. They were having fun but extremely loud, but we decided to try and wait them out thinking they were leaving soon. Nope - they were having too much fun. So we asked the restaurant to reseat us and they were more than happy to accommodate. (another table also asked to be reseated). Service was terrific. The food was outstanding - we shared the mushroom bruschetta, the brie and the beet salad. They were all excellent. For mains, we had swordfish, tuna, surf and turf. All were excellent. We will be back!"

  • "We went to the Shore Break for our fifth wedding anniversary. The food was outstanding and we lived the ambiance. The prices were very reasonable, too. Service was great until they got busy, then it fell off, but we still had a great time."

  • "This has to be my new favorite restaurant in Rehoboth. We came twice in one week it was so good. Food, ambience, and shore chic decor and ambiance are tough to beat. The menu has some of the best seafood and steak options around...and save room because my best desert of the week was also at Shorebreak Lodge."

  • "Great food choices, mixing different selections, loved the portion size. Our waiter was outstanding as it looked like he was the only staff member for all the tables. He handled it like a champ! We like to take people here as it is a great place, friendly people and consistently good food."

  • "Everything was great, but the veggies were terrific...waiter told us that they are brought in from a local farm and you could really taste the fresh and local quality!"

  • "Terribly overpriced. Worst crab cakes at the beach. 300%+ mark-up on wine and reds served at mid-70 degrees. Real savvy diners will recognize this for what it is and what it is not."

  • "I made a reservation based on a recommendation of a friend who is seasonal there. Asked for a nice table to celebrate our wedding anniversary and was not disappointed. Great table, awesome food, wonderful friendly service and very fairly priced. I can't wait to go back, this will be our go to restaurant for when we return to Rehoboth. If you want a fun experience with innovative menu items yet powerfully flavorful you have to try this place out."

  • "This was my second time at Shorebreak, and the food has been excellent both times. They have a reasonable wine list, and the menu is conveniently divided by main protein. Their take on a surf 'n' turf (scallops and short rib) was modern, well-portioned, and perfectly cooked. The burrata appetizer was wonderful, though one piece of bread is not close to sufficient to soak up the oil and pesto that accompanies it. When we asked for another piece, they brought us two, with no charge. That was the high point of the service, unfortunately. Our waitress was very nice, but knew basically nothing about the menu or the wine list. When I asked how about a particular dish, she read the exact description from the menu - this happened for several items."

  • "Great tasting food. The portion size gets smaller every time I eat here."

  • "We dined here on our way home from OCMD and couldn't have been more pleased with our selection of this restaurant. Each of the servers provided excellent, attentive service. Our waitress was outgoing & friendly without being intrusive. She suggested the perfect wine when I told her what I was looking for (red, not tannic, very smooth). We shared the calamari and the beet salad & each had the Deckle Steak which was cooked to perfection and delish! Also shared a dessert which was the perfect ending. Definitely A+ for Shorebreak Lodge! From what we could discern, it looked like this place was a favorite among the locals too. Always a good sign."

  • "The food has gotten even better - if that's even possible - and we've added this fantastic place to our Rehoboth rotation."

  • "I originally found this restaurant when my husband and I took my in-laws out to eat. My father-in-law is extremely picky and hard to please while dining out, however, he loved it. Fast forward two years later and we returned with a friend and our 11 month old. The waitress was very accommodating with our son. The food was top notch, drinks were perfectly made and we will be sure to return."

  • "the help needs help. young, inexperienced, unfamiliar with the menu, timing off, decor dull. clams delicious, pepper pear soup good, special fries good. lamb meatballs awful. dying plants and overall a disappointment."

  • "Four old friends had a great dinner on Saturday night. We chose a series of appetizers so we cold save room for dessert. All were delicious. Our waitress was great , knew the menu and was able to answer all questions. we would definitely come again."

  • "We found the restaurant quite nice. Right off the boardwalk. Parking was not a problem and they take reservations, which is very important in a resort setting."

  • "Shorebreak is one of our favorite places in Rehoboth Beach. Food is fab . as well as the service. Used to be our "go-to" restaurant, but now we need a reservation!!! Try to eat in the front room. So nice to watch the people walk by. The back room is pretty basic."

  • "On 6/4, we returned to Shorebreak. Martinis. Fixed price menu. Roasted brie, naan, & other stuff; Roast beets, bucheron + lentils; Hake (cape cod), en pappillote, bacon chutney, carrot n fennel; Surf n turf of braised short ribs, sea scallops; & Poached Roasted Brie, accompanied by dried fruit & some sweet red peppers: excellent. The Roasted Beets and lentils: excellent, but too much bucheron cheese. Both appetizers were large. I liked the surf and turf. The scallops were perfectly seared on one side & lightly cooked through. The short ribs were delicious. The hake was light and flakey, a tad overdone. The chutney had such large pieces of bacon, that it was obtrusive and was under done. The dessert was too sweet."

  • "Had a delightful meal at Shorebreak Lodge. The roasted chicken was outstanding and the service was so attentive. Highly recommend this neighborhood gem while vacationing in Rehoboth. There aren't too many tables so do consider making a reservation. "

  • "I had dinner here last weekend with three friends. The food was delicious and portions generous (even for the small plates). We particularly liked the Brussel Sprouts, Mussels, Truffled Fries, Shrimp and Grits. The noise level is quite high - there is not a soft surface in the place. And while the decor was beautiful, we were seated at a table with two couches that proved challenging to get in and out of even for fit, younger adults - two things to keep in mind if your party has older guests. If we had gone with my in laws they would never have been able to get up! Still, I highly recommend the Shorebreak Lodge for the food and attentive service. "

  • "Enjoyed the scallops and polenta, the kale salad (with yummy beets), the Brussels sprouts with chorizo, and a tasty cheesecake. We will go back again ... Many more items to try on a menu with an regularly changing array of small and large plates. Very cute space, too and will try the patio on a warmer evening."

  • "A nice find at the beach. The ah tuna entree - which we were told will not always be on a menu, unfortunately - was excellent. Server was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is worth a return visit."

  • "The good was delicious! And I will happily go back, but the service was a bit too relaxed. Our server was nice, but seemed like he wasn't taking the job that seriously. This is a minor quibble, however, on the whole I was very happy."
