My wife and I visited for a late Valentine's dinner. It was our first time to the restaurant and had only reserved it a few days prior. My wife is gluten-sensitive so she's still able to eat gluten but prefers not to. I made a comment on our reservation and then we forgot about it. The restaurant surprised us after we identified ourselves when we checked in. We were ready to order appetizers and the chef came out, told us he read the gluten-sensitive comment and brought us a bowl of their gluten-free soup and told us of other menu items that were, or could be prepared, gluten-free. The service and food were outstanding. Well done kitchen and wait staff for your attentiveness and care to us, your customer!!

Great tasting Moroccan food but the restaurant does not accept credit cards. I do not patronize restaurants that do not accept credit cards, thus I will not return to Shokran.

A wonderful Moroccan restaurant. Our server helped us successfully navigate the menu with some wonderful suggestions. The appetizer in phyllo dough was divine. The tangine and couscous dishes were incredible. We will definitely return.

  • Go to Shokran!

My friend and I needed to find a restaurant close to Independence Tap, where a friend's band was playing that night and lucky for us, we found Shokran. The space itself is interesting, offering a warm but more open seating area in the front vs. a very cozy seating area tucked around the corner. Service is friendly and efficient; the food is delicious and incredibly reasonable. You're served warm pita triangles with an olive spread and a spicy spread (like Sriracha sauce - forgive me for cross referencing cultures!). We split the beet salad, which was fresh. I selected Chicken Bastilla and Kefta, both apps, as my meal and my friend had the Moroccan chicken tajine. Next time we'll split apps or one app and a tagine as servings are generous!

This place was unbelievable! Food was PACKED with flavor! You will NOT be disappointed! We plan to frequent Shokran's as much as possible. The manager was the friendliest we've ever encountered in the business. Enjoy! Be sure to end the night with Moroccan Tea...wow!

I expected bland middle eastern food and was pleasantly surprised by how tasty everything on the menu was. Had a really interesting conversation with the waiter who is working on his PhD in history. I'll definitely be back.

Comfortable restaurant that takes you to Morocco with its decor and cuisine. We sat in a small room with couches, pillows and piped-in music to set the mood. The server was extremely helpful since we weren't sure what to order. He explained some of the dishes we asked about and suggested the traditional tea which was very good. Actually, you'll enjoy anything you order and there will be enough to take home for the next day. Highly recommend this neighborhood restaurant.
