A word from Shiro of Japan - The Shops @ Atlas Park
Shiro of Japan has the reputation for providing patrons with an exceptional and authentic Japanese dining experience at affordable prices. The restaurant has more than a thirty year tradition of setting dining trends and providing exceptional service.

Shiro of Japan was founded on the tradition of “true” Japanese hibachi steak house, a concept that introduced America to the cooking art form known as teppanyaki. In Japanese, teppan means an “iron plate” or a “steel sheet,” and yaki, “stir-fried food” or “stir-frying.” The teppanyaki and hibachi styles, come together to create a mouth-watering form of cuisine that continues to increase in popularity in the New York region and across the nation. Note, when making an online reservation please specify Hibachi or our main dining room.

I frequent this restaurant. The staff was pleasant and curteous as always. My chef was not as personable as some of the chefs I have had in the past but he was still nice. The food was a bit salty (which usually is never an issue). Overall it was an enjoyable experience and we were seated with a fun group which made the experience pleasurable. I will still be patronizing this establishment.

My family and I always love to come to Shiro's for dinner. It's perfect when we just want to enjoy great sushi, fresh food and a conversation. It's our go-to restaurant when we've had a hard day and just want to be assured of a good meal and a great time.

Excellent is an understatement! We had family visiting from out of town, Europe. They were amazed at just about everything in the restaurant. They noticed that food was fresh before it was cooked, the correct about amount of seasoning was on everything they ate. The cook was kind, friendly and had a great sense of humor as was the waitress who was aware of our need for drinks and refills. The large group that we came with was handled with style. We all left the restaurant FULL and satisfied! Thank You for helping me show my family how great NYC can be within the County of Queens!

THe food was over priced compared to most hibachis . They charged you extra very every single thing even fried rice which is part of hibachi . The food was edible but not worth the price .

the food and the service was amazing but the prices were a bit high. They charge you $10 for their service of bringing a birthday cake for you and I think that should be left for us to tip them for. I had to buy the cake myself somewhere else because they didn't sell full cakes.

Shiro was just okay. First, they sent me a text asking me to go to the front desk to be seated 3 hours before my actual reservation. I had to make another reservation for a later time through Open Table...and they did not check me in through it. Our chef was funny and witty (he was the best part of the experience). The food was just blah. The drinks were just blah. The restaurant was nearly empty, that I could not believe it. My family and I will probably will not be going back.

Recommended by friend. Hibachi chef is an apprentice and the food he cook is very salty and the noodle taste awful like soy sauce. Steak is tasteless. Fried rice is below average.. Order an order of Dragon roll - not up to standard yet. Good atmosphere and the staffs are very polite and friendly.

Although the food was good, we waited a long time for the table, a long time for service and a long time for the check. Restaurant seemed to be overtaxed. Recommend only going when you have a leisurely time. It made it particularly hard for a hungry child and more stressful than it should have been.

The food at the hibachi was fine however there absolutely needs to be a policy in place for there fixed price hibachi dinner when a customer has a food allergy. One in my party has an allergy to shellfish therefore couldn't eat the shrimp appetizer. The manager could offer no solution other than "don't eat it" or "give your shrimp to someone else at the table". That made no sense and ruined our experience.

We were sat at a table with two other parties already sitting. We were given menus and asked almost immediately if we were ready to order. Sushi appetizers that people ordered came out quick. However the hibachi chef took so long to come it was like he was flown in from Japan. Food was good but a little pricey and fried rice was extra. The chef referenced ice cream for dessert but it was also not included.

Food was good. Service was fine. In the winter it is kind of like an icebox inside because everytime someone opens the front door a huge burst of freezing air funnels into the restuarant. I guess they didn't take this into consideration when the designed the entrance. A small foyer area would have easily eliminated this problem.

I enjoyed my time here. Part of this place is the entrainment and I could have done without the screaming from other customers. Food and service were great. Cant complain about that. However, be warned. This place has a habit of canceling your reservation on Open Table after you are seated. They probably pay Open Table for every reservation fulfilled. I could care less about 100 points. But for such a good place to eat, that was a very cheap and tacky thing to do. And Ive been told I am not the first one that has happened to with them. So I wont be putting money in their pocket again.

The restaurant it self is not a bad place it has great lighting and is very roomy but as soon as we got there rather than the hostess giving us a table that was with couples we got sat in a table that was one group. We felt very uncomfortable eating with another party. I've been to several hibachi restaurants all over the city and in most restaurants if it is a party of two try try and sit a party of two with other parties of two. rather than that the hostesss sat us with a table that has a group of 5 to make it worse that group was celebrating someones birthday they were very loud noisy while my wife and I were trying to enjoy our anniversary. The food was ok not as good I would expect. The service in the other hand was great.
