"We celebrated my husband's 71st birthday at Shearn's. It was our first time to go there and it was wonderful. I had requested a window table and told them it was his birthday when I made the reservation. We were taken to our table immediately upon arrival and the hostess wished him a happy birthday while leading the way. The food was super and so was the service. When we were discussing dessert with the waiter, he said there was something special being prepared. They brought out a plate with samples of three desserts. What a nice treat."

"My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at a beautiful table by the window, overlooking a wide view of Galveston and the Bay. The service was impeccable, and our food was excellent. My husband's gumbo was average, but my shrimp and lump crab martini was superb. Our red snapper - his was blackened, mine was grilled - were cooked to perfection. Our waiter surprised us with a free anniversary dessert: a Grand Marnier Souffle which was delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you're looking for a quiet, high-end dinner with beautiful views."

"Service and view great. Wife's shrimp dish was great. I ordered my fillet mignon medium well, and it was between medium well and well done, a bare hint of pink. Didn't call it to waiter's attention, wife's food had arrived and did not want to wit while they started over with another fillet."

"Beautiful Restaurant overlooking Galveston.
Chef Urs is simply the best.
Started us with mini crab cakes as a pre appetizer.
Potato/Asparagus soup was excellent.
The medium rare Filet Mignon and the Lump Crab Meet where out of this world.
The Chocolate Praline Cake was like made in Switzerland with
real Butter Cream, showing a high degree of Patisserie craftsmanship.
The Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon was poured at the right temperature.
Service super attentive, but discrete. We enjoyed a super
evening there and will be back soon."

"The service was extremely slow even though there were only people at four tables. Everything tasted like it was cooked earlier in the day. The shrimp delonge was simply ordinary. The chicken was dry. My mother had to use a steak knife to cut it. The desserts weren't fresh at all. The whole experience was like eating at an old hotel restaurant.....the view at night was the only thing decent. We drove from Houston to go to this restaurant but that will not happen again."

"Food, ambience, service, all rate in the top category of Houston area restaurants. Great views from both the restaurant and from the lounge. After dinner the lounge was a good spot to have an after dinner drink - great piano player and a small dance floor. Only negative was the non existant service in the lounge."

"Despite having lived on the island for more than 10 years, this was our first visit to Shearn's Restaurant. As soon as we finished dining, we were sad we hadn't been sooner! This restaurant truly is a dining gem in Galveston. Usually one has to go to Houston to find an experience such as this.
The views are stunning, as the restaurant is on the 9th floor of the Moody Gardens Hotel. We were very pleased with the Shrimp Dejonghe. This dish is a must try! My companion also got the rib eye steak, which had the same butter as the shrimp. It was also wonderful.
The service was impeccable. Everyone was very attentive to our needs and didn't hover. You just can't find service like that anymore. If you're in Galveston, you should try Shearns!"
