Diner Reviews
  • "This was my first visit to the Seven Seas restaurant and it was excellent. I ordered the braised short rib which was the special and it was so tender that I didn't need a knife. I wish we would've had a table next to the window for a better view of the lake but we did see the sunset."

  • "While the lake view was scenic, and the wait staff were very accommodating, the food did not meet the quality criteria. The steak was fatty and somewhat tough, had to send the first slice prime rib back, as it was over-done for medium. Potatoes were gluey -- seemed microwaved, not baked. Asparagas ends were tough, not properly trimmed. Especially for the price, not up to par."

  • "My family loves to eat at Seven Seas and recently tried the Sunday brunch. The variety and quality of the food appealed to everyone in the group. Service has always been excellent. The price is an exceptional value for brunch and we all left happy, planning to come back again."

  • "We were really looking forward to dining at Seven Seas. The filet was average. The potato tasted as if it had been made in the morning and reheated later. The asparagus was the best food item on the plate."

  • "I've been going to the Seven Seas for about 10 years now and the restaurant never ceases to amaze me. The food is always as tasty as can be, the waitstaff extremely outstanding, and the atmosphere impeccable. Menu offers a variety of options including steak, lobster, chicken, and salads. Each entre is meticulously prepared to your liking every time. They have a way of making their food unique to their restaurant."

  • "The food was Ok, not much taste, needed some pizzazz. If they want to keep customers coming back, they need to step up their game. When we got there to check in the hostess ignored us until she was done organizing the menus. She never said one word or cracked a smile while she was escorting us to our seats. The waitress did not go out of here way to be friendly. Took our oreder and that was about it. I was disappointed in our didning experience other than the view of the Lake."

  • "When I look at a menu in Wisconsin I invariably think give me a break. If only restaurant kitchens would realize that for some people less is better, and the entire menu doesn't have to be a sauce but have on top of another sauce, etc. quite frankly, it tries me crazy searching the menu for just a simple sea scallops lightly cooked or the same for a Dover sole basically sautéed, and that's it. I'll the items on this menu went too far in terms of additional sauces or attributes on food. A few plane items for the entrée would be very desirable in this lovely restaurant."

  • "Sunday brunch was excellent. Build your own bloody Mary bar was stocked to the 9's. The stein is the way to go. From beginning to end the food and service by the 5 of our group had only good things to say and then some. Want to go back when the lake is not frozen."

  • "My wife and I return to this part of the state around once per year usually find a good reason to spend an evening having dinner here. What a great local place for cocktails and predictably high quality dinner!"

  • "Sevens Seas was a real nice place to go. The view is fantastic. It's really got a new old-school gentleman's feel to it. Private rooms, private wine rooms, and a very nice bar area. The food was exceptional as well. From prime rib, to scallops, to pork prime rib as the special. Also-the desert was fantastic. I will come back in the late spring/summer/fall to see the fantastic view of the lake and the gardens."

  • "We have always liked this restaurant. The food is very good, the food is always excellent, and if you get a table near the windows, the view of the lake in the late afternoon and evening is spectacular. I would like to see a more expanded menu to include possibly some southwest or some other ethnic choices."

  • "We would definitely return to this wonderful restaurant! The setting on Lake Nagawicka is beautiful. We enjoyed watching a "wind snowboard surfer" maneuver over the ice and snow. Most brunches require you to get up and wind your way through a food line. This was served. I would highly recommend the Bloody Mary bar...every conceivable condiment available. The warm apple strudel topped off a delicious meal."

  • "We went on a Saturday evening to celebrate our anniversary. We've heard the view is great, but we went after dark, so we'll have to come back! All the items we ordered were perfect; my husband was quite taken with the butter served with the bread basket... he said it was the best butter he's ever had! Saturday is probably not the night if you want to enjoy some quiet conversation--the dining room was full and understandable loud. We'll definitely be back!"

  • "We've come here for brunch a few times over the last few years and have always enjoyed the food and excellent service. Even my kids enjoy the food (fresh made omlets)."

  • "The food and atmosphere was great. The service so-so. We had to ask for many things. It was like we were overlooked. Examples: Coffee served without cream: we had to ask for champagne: did not go over the brunch menu with us: main food served before we had a chance to sample the fruit and rolls. The service seemed rushed and impersonal."

  • "We chose this place for our Valentine Day/Wedding Anniversary. We were, for the most part, pleased with our experience. We started with the crabcakes, which I would never order again for 2 reasons; there were only 3 very small crabcakes, why not 4, and the corn salsa w/cumin, which accompanied them, did not make sense. We had the sea bass and the prime rib, both were very delish; however, where was the popover for the prime rib? This is a stitch with their prime rib. I understand that it was not on the Valentine Day menu, but why? Such a small and easy niceity. We ended the evening splitting the strudel, so delightful!!"

  • "After reading comments on YELP, I was concerned. However, our experiences was very good. Service was timely and courteous. My wife enjoyed her Cosmopolitan drink. The appetizer combination platter was very good. My wife ordered Roast Duck. She was hoping for crispy skin and the kitchen delivered. She found the meat to be tender and baked perfectly. She would have preferred wild rice over the stuffing, but the stuffing was also good. The orange cranberry glaze was super. I had a 12oz prime rib. It was delicious and tender. The stuffed baked potato was not cooked long enough. I didn't miss it. The asparagus and popover were tasty and enough to satisfy me. Overall, we enjoyed a fine evening."

  • "I love this place. It is never crowded and the food s great. We had the steak like we always get. I should try some of their other food but I can't get pas the steak. The staff has always been very friendly to us. We like is so much we are going to get married here!"

  • "The food was very good. Everyone who ordered steaks was very happy. The creme brule was outstanding. Our reservation was for 7pm. At 7:15p we asked the hostess about being seated and she stated "oh sure come when you're ready. I forgot." Our service was slow. We had to continually ask for water refills and the wait staff appeared confused."

  • "My husband and I made reservations for dinner on New Year's Eve. As always, the food was excellent and our server was attentive. The only negative of the evening is one we've encountered at this restaurant on previous occassions; diners will be forced to wait anywhere from fifteen to a forty-five minutes past their reservation time to be seated. Normally one would sit at the bar, but as this was New Year's Eve, and the bar was crowded, we were left to stand for a good portion of that wait. In addition, the hostess was less than friendly or apologetic when I returned after a half hour to ask how much longer we would have to wait."

  • "We had a prepaid living social deal or would have walked out. Waited at our table for a half an hour for someone to take our order. The wait would have been easier if someone would have brought the drinks we ordered when we sat down. They have a brunch special that no one explained to us yet they still started bringing us food (a half hour after we sat down) that we hadn't ordered!!! After finally ordering and receiving food it was only fine, not noteworthy. Will never go back"

  • "Seafood Chowder was full of seafood, and outstanding. Ceasar salad was good, but had too much dressing. Friends had Roast Duck, they said it was very good, it looked very good, and was more than adequate in amount. Can't recall what others in our party had, but they all shared very favorable opinions, and all had a good time."

  • "This is our first time to seven seas and it was for NYE. We were seated within 5 minutes of our reserved time which was nice. However, we were seated in a secondary dining area with two larger groups and several sampler tables. Out server greeted us and took our drink order. Someone else delivered our drinks and we didn't see our server for another 20 minutes. She came over to another table that had been seated long before us and they commented angrily "we thought you disappeared". And that's how the rest of the night went. We had to flag down the other server to place our food order. We didn't get our food until an hour after we were seated. May go back on a normal night because food was exceptional but will request the main room."

  • "I ordered a medium rare steak. I won't make that mistake again. If I had ordered a well done steak I wouldn't expect it to be that hard, and burnt on the outside. I have decided it is not a place to order an enjoyable steak dinner."

  • "This was our first time eating at Seven Seas. The restaurant smelled fantastic. We couldn't wait to try the Thanksgiving meal. We had heard the food was fantastic. Not the case when ordering Thanksgiving fare. It was awful!!! I have had better food in hospitals. really!!! The wine was great. The bread was outstanding. That's about where it ended. Sorry to say. I am sure their regular menu items must be great or how would they stay in business. We all had wished we had ordered off the menu instead of having the turkey and stuffing choice. On top of that...our service was terrible!! Other tables were getting waiting on just fine. The majority of the crowd had just left, so , being too busy wasn't the case. Truly disappointing:("

  • "Wonderful atmosphere. Great service. Our steaks were delicious. My son was less than impressed with the ribs. Thought they were too fatty and didn't like the sauce but he's 12 and thinks the ribs at Applebee's are awesome so not sure others would agree. Overall great place to celebrate my birthday with my family."

  • "We went here to celebrate our one year anniversary, and we're not disappointed! As expected from a Weisgerber establishment, the food is top notch and absolutely delicious. The service is very professional and attentive at just the right time. We will be back in the summer to enjoy the beautiful lake view!"

  • "The food at Seven Seas was very good, but it was the view of the lake that made this such a great dining spot. The only complaint I have is that the service is s-l-o-w. We were seated promptly upon arrival and then spent the next 10 minutes waiting for menus. But because the food was so yummy we overlooked the overall slow service."

  • "This restaurant has a great name recognition around the area but it is pricey. We had a gift certificate so we thought we'd give it a try. The ambiance was closer to a funeral home than a fine restaurant and the service was slow and not on the ball but also not horrible. Soups, salads, bread and wine were pretty late in coming and when we got the main courses they were unfortunately not much more than average. The Sea scallops were probably a bit above average but overdone and the salmon was slightly below average considering price. Overall the view is terrific, especially at sunset but the rest of the experience didn't match up to the rep or the price."

  • "Overall food quality was poor.....overcooked. Noisy (very)....you could hear loud noise from children running around upstairs in their banquet room. Waitress was good but was taking care of too many tables to give appropriate attention to guests. Not worth the $300+ we spent on food and drink for 4."
