A word from Seven Bistro
Seven is a rare find in the neighborhood, located in the heart of Manhattan, steps away from New York’s Penn Station, Madison Square Garden & the Fashion District offering a modern twist to classical dishes, warm hospitality & personalized service.

We’re ‘casual dining’ rather than ‘fine dining’ but that doesn’t mean our quality & service should be any less. We believe we’ve found the right balance with a passionate kitchen team & a charming front of house team along with a service ethos centered squarely on ensuring your experience with us is a great one.

This was a perfect spot for us. We were meeting friends for dinner and we wanted the food to be great since these friends eat at nice restaurants often and appreciates good food. The small plate offerings were great! So many appealing choices to choose from that I had a hard time deciding. We all ended up ordering 2 small plates each (though the large plates were just as appealing) and the lobster mac and cheese to share. Fabulous! We also shared desserts with the same result. The noise level was a bit too high for me, but as the evening progressed, it quieted down. We came in from Jersey to meet these friends and so the bonus for us is that the restaurant was steps away from Penn Station! We will go back to this place. -

The service was impeccable, distinguished by warm and friendly interactions with us from the beginning to the end of the dining experience. I was really impressed by being able to talk quietly with my dinner partner, so kudos for ambience. Last but not least, the food was great. Bottom line: I will return.

Descent place to eat in the middle of the pub district. It's so hard to find a nice restaurant to eat normal food when you're not in the mood for finger foods and/or a burger. The wait staff was courteous and attentive, while at the same time friendly. After reading some negative reviews I was pleasantly surprised and would go back to Seven anytime.

I met a friend here for dinner after work and was pretty disappointed by my main dish; however, the service and drinks were lovely. The bar/lounge area was really the only interesting part of the restaurant. We were seated in the back by the kitchen which wasn't ideal. We ordered the lamb appetizer and I was pleasantly surprised with it. It had great flavor and I really enjoyed it. I ordered the homemade cavatelli as my main course which was unfortunately one of the worst things I have ever eaten. The bacon in this dish was too thick, tough and it just tasted old. The sauce was also a lot heavier than I expected. Maybe I just ordered wrong, but I won't be returning, unless it's just for a drink at the bar.

Since this neighborhood is seriously deficient in places to have lunch which are not fast food and not too high end, I tried this based on an Open Table picture and menu. The picture only represents the ground floor, which of course was booked even though we had reservations. The menu could be good with a better chef, but the service seriously needs improvement. And the noise level is almost unbearable.

This was the second time visiting Seven Bistro. The first time I had an amazing meal but this time the chicken in my Bistro Chicken Salad was so dry it was inedible. The Tuna Scallop burger was good, but not as good as the first time. The service was good but my friend and I wanted to share the two dishes and the kitchen wouldn't split them for us. How hard is it to cut a burger in half in the kitchen? It is certainly easier to do in the kitchen with a big knife than at the table but they wouldn't do it. Seems like a minor thing they could have done to make us happy. I would go to this restaurant again though, especially since it is near my office which is in a neighborhood with a dearth of good places to have lunch.

I though the French Onion soup and Veg Risotto were ok but the Bang Bang Shrimp and Calamari both had NO flavor. I was impressed the restaurant held our reservation for a half hour because we were stuck in traffic. The location is great for a drink if you are going to a show at MSG.

I did expect more tapas offerings They have almost no gluten free options if your vegetarian The kale salad that I looked forward to on the menu was not presoaked at all just hard kale on a plate with dressing. For the price of it I expected it would have been prepared correctly My daughter did love the fries Small portions for price. Should definitely offer more tapas type meals and do a two for a set price

I was excited to try Seven Bistro, as I'm often looking for a decent restaurant near Penn Station/MSG. I was disappointed with my visit. The food was average in quality. We enjoyed the chicken potstickers and the salmon and tuna tartare, but our entrees of cavatelli and a steak sandwich were nothing special. Perhaps it would be best to stick with the small plates. We were seated in the upstairs dining room, which I found to be cramped and incredibly noisy. Our server tried very hard, but there were a few service miscues. I wonder for whom they keep the intimate booths in the front of the restaurant reserved? Had we sat there, our experience probably would have been entirely different and much more enjoyable.

I ordered the steak salad...I got a pile of arugala and 5 tiny slivers of steak. Even everyone at the table was confused as to why this $18 salad was so limited. I was pretty hungry and had to order an orange juice because my sugar dropped so much during the lunch meeting.

We were looking for a place close to the Penn Station to meet a friend from out of town who was going back that night. We went for dinner on a Monday night. A cool spot in a surprise location. Loved the chandeliers and champagne decor. Despite delays getting into the city the hostess accommodated us right away even though two members of our party arrived 20 minutes later. Delicious & light calamari appetizer, wonderful Mango Martinis, I think our party had one of very menu item and it was all very very good. Pan chicken especially good as was a great steak with a Lincoln log house o fries. I asked for a quiet table because we had business talk & got a perfect tucked away table that made it easy to hear & be heard. Desserts were tasty and the food was really very good. I loved this place and it's good for meat eaters and veggies alike. Good for lunch or dinner and location is excellent.
