A word from Seven Bistro
Neighborhood gem located just 2 blocks from MSG and Penn station. If you are waiting for your train or going to a show at the garden.... Seven is the ideal place. We Serve Lunch Dinner and also a Tapas menu. The Tapas menu is only served in the front Lounge and the bar area.

I ordered the steak salad...I got
a pile of arugala and 5 tiny slivers of steak. Even everyone at the table was confused as to why this $18 salad was so limited. I was pretty hungry and had to order an orange juice because my sugar dropped so much during the lunch meeting."

I was excited to try Seven Bistro,
as I'm often looking for a decent restaurant near Penn Station/MSG. I was disappointed with my visit. The food was average in quality. We enjoyed the chicken potstickers and the salmon and tuna tartare, but our entrees of cavatelli and a steak sandwich were nothing special. Perhaps it would be best to stick with the small plates. We were seated in the upstairs dining room, which I found to be cramped and incredibly noisy. Our server tried very hard, but there were a few service miscues. I wonder for whom they keep the intimate booths in the front of the restaurant reserved? Had we sat there, our experience probably would have been entirely different and much more enjoyable."

Get location in the city. The
staff was great and the food dependable"

Nice surprise near Penn Station.
Good food, clean, good service."
Dined on 6/24/2014
We were looking for a place close
to the Penn Station to meet a friend from out of town who was going back that night. We went for dinner on a Monday night. The place was not noisy which allowed us to talk. We ordered small plates (not tapas) to share and a bottle of wine. Food was ok and wine was very good. Overall, we enjoyed this place."
Dined on 6/23/2014
The food was great, the service
was excellent. Next time, I would reserve earlier and get a booth, but the table was fine."
Dined on 6/21/2014
Food and service were both
excellent. Menu prices were not crazy expensive. Great location to MSG and Penn Station. Strongly recommended."

A cool spot in a surprise
location. Loved the chandeliers and champagne decor. Despite delays getting into the city the hostess accommodated us right away even though two members of our party arrived 20 minutes later. Delicious & light calamari appetizer, wonderful Mango Martinis, I think our party had one of very menu item and it was all very very good. Pan chicken especially good as was a great steak with a Lincoln log house o fries. I asked for a quiet table because we had business talk & got a perfect tucked away table that made it easy to hear & be heard. Desserts were tasty and the food was really very good. I loved this place and it's good for meat eaters and veggies alike. Good for lunch or dinner and location is excellent."

The guest of honor enjoyed the
place, environment and food. The rest of the group had similar experience. It was an enjoyable evening, The waiters were friendly and courteous, Prices and portions were reasonable. Loved the coconut rice pudding! A come back place! . "

I come here a lit with friends for
drink and dinner. Tonight there was no hostess, new waiter was a little full of himself...I brought a new friend claiming this was one of my favorites and was a little embarrassed. However the food and wine was awesome as always"

One of the better restaurants in a
neighborhood that does not have many decent food choices. If you want a tappa before a show at Garden, a good choice. "

If you're looking for a solid
lunch spot near Penn Station/Madison Square Garden, Seven fits the bill."
Dined on 5/8/2014
Had dinner at Seven before Billy
Joel concert at the Garden. Got there early our waiter was very friendly, helpful. We weren't rush out. Took our time for appetizers and dinner. Food was excellent! Will definitely go there again and will recommend to my friends."

I love this place. Nice menu,
awesome white wine, ambiance is perfect and also a perfect location for upper chelsea/midtown lunch in a place that's not packed but conveniently located. 2 minor complaints: the hostess seemed like she could care less that there were people standing there waited to be seated - didn't even make eye contact - and it was difficult to get the attention of waitstaff to get drinks or refills or the check. On the other hand, the maître d' was really attentive and super nice. I feel like his employees need to get on the ball a little more."

Great neighborhood restaurant.
Very good menu with well prepared food. Attentive service. Definitely recommend. "

If you are going to the Garden,
make sure you hit this spot before or after. "

When I got to the restaurant, I
was seated in the upstairs part of the restaurant at a table in the back corner with no light over it. I felt like I was a child being punished. I asked to move to another unoccupied table nearby with a light over it so that I didn't have to use the LED light on my iPhone to read the menu. I ordered the grilled swordfish entree and it was excellent. The rice and sauteed spinach that accompanied the seafood was delicious also. The service I received was pretty poor. My original waiter was slow to introduce himself and ask for my order. Another waiter brought out my entree, filled my drink, and gave me more bread. The original waiter ignored me until he asked if I wanted dessert and presented the check. "

more than amazing!!!!!"

Great place to grab dinner before
heading to MSG. "

Both food and service was great.
Really enjoyed our time there."
Dined on 4/11/2014
I would only go back for business
lunch or dinner. Over priced for the quality of the food, service was mediocre if that, overall not crazy about this place or would I make a recommendation to anyone."
Dined on 4/10/2014
We actually ordered a lot of
appetizers for dinner and everyone really enjoyed that!"

Great food, atmosphere, and
service! Rosemary bread was delicious!"
Dined on 4/5/2014
Great food, lovely restaurant with
terrific service nestled among the nondescript bars and restaurants that surround Penn Station & MSG. What a terrific find!"
Dined on 4/5/2014
Given the dearth of decent
restaurants around Madison Square Garden, this one in its new incarnation is a find. Just a short 2 blocks away, it blows away all the fast food places and rib joints that clutter the area. The menu is eclectic and the food nicely prepared. Prices are moderate."
Dined on 4/4/2014
Seven is one of the only places
near Madison Square Garden and Penn Station to get truly gourmet food with an attentive staff and great overall vibe. It's just wonderful. I've been coming to Seven since 2001."
Dined on 3/31/2014
If you need to be near MSG or Penn
Station, this may be your best option. It is much nicer inside that it looks from the street. The food is very good, the staff friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere very inviting. This neighborhood is really lacking in restaurant options, but in addition to winning by default, Seven is very enjoyable."

Had a great business dinner for a
party of five. There is a small alcove in the back of the first floor area that has a round table that seats six. Sound level, although not bad in the restaurant in general, was perfect for our discussion because we were somewhat isolated. Food was (and always is) great, service was attentive. I come to NYC about once a month and stay in a hotel a couple blocks away. I discovered Seven on my last trip in February. Seven has become one of my "go to" restaurants!"

We were looking for a nice place
to meet and eat before the Billy Joel concert at MSG and we were very pleased with our experience at Seven Bistro. We had drinks, apps, a nice meal and dessert in a stress-free environment. The food was good, the service was very good and attentive. We had reservations and we were seated right away. Seems like a great place to go, particularly for before or after an MSG event since it's just a few blocks south on 7th avenue."

convenient location - also, great
food. Nice atmosphere nd friendly, friendly staff. Had lovely lunch here!! Not rushed - recommend it highly."
Dined on 3/19/2014
I've been to Seven Bistro several
times in the past and always enjoy the food and the setting. Last week's dinner was a business dinner for two. Had a corner table upstairs, so it wasn't noisy or crowded. Very nice and our meeting was productive. I love the variety of menu choices - they are always delicious. Will definitely return."
Dined on 3/13/2014
Had a great dinner at Seven
Bistro. We arrived about 2 minutes after our reservation time and the hostess was excellent in taking our coats and taking us right to our booth. Ambience of the place was very good, Not too load but enough noise to be vibrant. Service was at the perfect pace with a constant smile. I ordered the Seven House Salad and enjoyed it very much. I especially liked the vinaigrette dressing which was the right blend of sweat and tart. My wife had the cod which she said was very good. I had the pork chop. The meat was cooked properly and was tender but somewhat lacking in flavor. I would suggest they modify the sauce in order to provide more flavor. However the potato's and vegetables were excellent."

I took my daughters in to the city
to the big east tournament it was there first time to the garden so I wanted it to be special. I have been to seven several times always great food and service so we had diner before game they loved the lobster Mac n cheese, bruschetta and I love the calamari . Diner was awesome and added to a wonderful evening. Thank you so much."

Family from Georgia was in town.
We had dinner with them at Seven, and we all thought the food, service, and ambiance was great. Great local, only 2 blks to Penn Station. It was a really nice evening."
Dined on 3/12/2014
Excellent midtown location for a
business lunch. Good food, friendly efficient service, reasonable prices, and quiet enough to carry on a business conversation. No one rushes you if your lunch meeting goes on well past the meal."
Dined on 3/11/2014
Restaurant is conveniently located
right by Penn Station. I met friends for drinks at the bar and then we sat for dinner. Service was excellent and the staff were all very friendly. The food was fantastic - each of us really liked our dishes. Portions were reasonable - not too much or too little. Highly recommend the Crunchy Brie Salad! This was my first time there and we would definitely go back."
Dined on 3/11/2014
I loved the food- my chicken was
cooked perfectly, and my friend's steak was also delicious. The service was absolutely horrible though. Our waitress rushed us all night, which was quite upsetting- I hadn't seen my friend in months. And when we went to pay the check, our waiter refused to have us pay in half cash, half credit card- we had to convince him. miserable service."
Dined on 3/11/2014
That's all it is, just alright.
Pricey for what it was"

We were celebarting an anniversary
and this place did a great job making us feel special. The food was very good and the overall experience excellent."
Dined on 3/7/2014
Met a business colleague and
friend here for lunch. The hostess wasn't exactly the most friendliest of people. She was on the phone when we walked and gave us the typical 'finger' wait moment, which lasted about 5min. I hate it when people do that or if you do it, at least do it with a smile. Its a nice enough restaurant and the food was good and nice size. We only had salads, so can't really speak to the other items on the menu. So with so many other restaurants in the area, doubt if Seven Bistro will be on my return visit list anytime soon. Perhaps your experience will be better."
