A word from Sette Osteria
Sette is Italian for seven, the traditional "lucky" number. The restaurant design is comfortable with a traditional Italian tone, and with a great "feel and flow." Sette Osteria is a destination place for people as well as a place for people walking in the area to come in and enjoy.

Decor: Sette Osteria has an open kitchen and an action station viewable by guests. Pizzas are cooked in a wood-burning pizza oven.

The best decor in a restaurant is people. Windows give guests a view of the active passing scenes on busy Connecticut Avenue and R Streets. And, people walking by are able to view a very inviting and appealing restaurant. The decor is soft and appealing but still carries a theme of sophisticated Italian culture and international buzz. Guests can view the young people going in and out of the chic clothing stores Benetton and Sisley.

We enjoyed a delicious meal with our college freshman daughter we were visiting. Had a bit of a wait even though we had a reservation which was a bit disappointing. We would, however, dine there again. The food was delicious and it was a lovely evening.

The food and service were both awesome. Our waiter was very attentive and kept us happy. We got chicken alfredo and a margarita pizza. The ingredients in the food were high quality, some of the tastiest grilled chicken I've ever had. It was a kind of noisy, but not loud enough that I couldn't keep my conversation going. I would definitely go back.

The restaurant was packed - very good impression at the front door with a professional Maitre d' who made sure we had a good table and kept an eye on every table throughout the evening. Amazing food "special risotto with lamb shank" was very tasty - great wine selection with good prices and of course very good service. Will be back soon.

I recently made a reservation for 3, specifically requested outdoor seating. On my arrival the host said it would be a 20 minute wait for an outdoor table and that I should've known it was on a first come first serve basis. First of all, how the heck was I supposed to know that without it being stated anywhere in the restaurant disclosures or confirmation, and second, they obvious knew of my request well in advance so why didn't they call or simply accommodate me on a slower Tuesday evening. Not cool. Furthermore, once we were seated we did not receive service of any sort for 15 minutes. In fact, once orders were placed we didn't see out waitress until we were requesting our bill-seemed as though she thought we hadn't even had our meals.

We found Sette Osteria on Open Table when we were staying in Dupont Circle. We took a chance based on the great reviews and we were so happy we did. I had the pumpkin ravioli and couldn't stop saying how amazing it was. Simply delicious!! Everyone else was very happy with their entrees including chicken parm, spicy sausage with pasta and angel hair with garlic and chicken. The one complaint I would have is the bread. We were given toasted pita bread with oil. Not very appetizing at all. But we saved more room for dinner!!

Sette does not ever adhere to the Open Table message. I eat here often I always write on the Open TAble reservation: Patio seating. Each time one has to argue about this---I asked for a table on the outdoor patio. You ought to address this concern with them, The noise level is great on the patio and not so great inside. The food is good bistro food. The sevice is good and the atmosphere is pleasant.

We had a wonderful evening sitting on the outside patio. It faces R street so the traffic noise was not too intrusive. Great service, good drinks and wine choices. Enough well prepared options on the menu to make everyone in our group happy. Very nice choice in Dupont for a pleasant dinner and drinks.

I hadn't been to Sette in several years and had enjoyed it last time. There were 3 of us dining, myself, my husband and 7 year old son. It was a busy Friday night, but we didn't have to wait too long. We sat inside. It was crowded and very loud. Difficult to hear over the noise. I think they were short staffed. We ordered right away, but waited quite awhile for our main courses. Water glasses were not refilled until we flagged the manager. My son's pasta from the children's menu was very spicy and he wouldn't eat it, so we asked the server if they could quickly make him a grilled cheese sandwich. She sneered at us, but took the order. 30 minutes later his sandwich arrived. We spoke to the manager and the spicy pasta was comped.

Good place after a long day of museums--including the Phillips Collection, which is right around the corner. Happy Hour at the bar was fabulous. Nice bartender and great selection of food at very good prices; beer choices somewhat limited. We could have eaten dinner at the bar and been satisfied. Moved to outdoor seating for the "real" dinner. It had been a rainy day and the outdoor seating was still very pleasant and quiet. Nice stemware and linens, varied menu, including a couple of vegan choices. Food OK, nothing memorable. Service very pleasant but hard to get a check. This is a moderately priced restaurant with locals enjoying a quiet dinner. Not dying to go back, but I wouldn't rule it out if I were in the area.

I found Sette Osteria on a random search for DC's Summer Restaurant Week. And I am so thankful that I did! It is conveniently placed (very close to Dupont Metro), amazing food, great service, and perfect for outdoor dining (which is my favorite - especially on a perfect evening, like we had). I would highly recommend! Because it was Restaurant Week, the place was very busy and we did have to wait for food between courses... but that wasn't necessarily a bad thing. Portions are a very good size! And the regular menu is large.

Hadn't been to Sette Osteria for years and thought 8 PM on a Wednesday evening would be a good time to revisit it. Wrong. The place was packed with young people and families with children. Fortunately, most apparently wanted to sit outside, so I got a nice table near the bar. Ordered from the daily specials list -- ham & melon followed by a skirt steak pizza -- and was very happy. Service was as attentive as a solo diner on a busy night could expect. I will return to try some of the enticing items from the regular menu.

We chose this restaurant for a quick visit with friends. I was a bit nervous about choosing a place I knew nothing about. They greeted us and we were seated instantly (even though we were 10 min. early). The outside dining looked inviting with a great covering and overhead fans but we chose to eat inside. All of the meals were delicious except for the alfredo - it was a bit bland but a bit of marinara sauce spiced it up! We would definitely choose to eat here again. Great location - just off Dupont Circle. You will not be disappointed.

Sette consistently provides wonderful food and service. We shared a special burrata appetizer they were offering and their mussels napoletana as apps. I followed with the veal piccata while my boyfriend had the filet mignon. Everything was delic. Sette is one of our go-to neighborhood restaurants for a casual yummy meal.

I booked Sette Osteria based on a recommendation from a friend of mine to celebrate my wife's birthday and our upcoming anniversary. Not only was the food delicious, but the manager was fantastic. The manager made sure that we had a nice table outside, brought us champagne with dessert and even comped their delicious dessert as a nice touch to the end of a wonderful meal. I had the skirt steak with truffled french fries and arugula salad. The steak was cooked perfectly. My wife had the ahi tuna which, again, was cooked perfectly. We highly recommend Sette. The food was moderately priced, and the friendliness of the manager and staff can't be beat. Thank you so much for making my wife's birthday so special.

The food is true, fresh, varied Italian; no heavy red ketchup sauces here. The dining outside is pleasant urban under large umbrellas; lots of people to watch. The dining inside includes seating at a bar, comfortable tables, and large windows to open up the space. Nice wine list with things you won't find easily elsewhere. The prices are reasonable. Overall, it all fits together in the best way, the sum is greater than any of its parts.
