Our cuisine is Northern Italian, originating from family recipes handed down from generations of cooks and adapted by Vittorio Assaf and his team of professional chefs. Serafina's creative pastas and risottos come to life with the freshest locally grown produce and ingredients, while the delicious desserts and extensive wine list satisfy every craving. Our famous thin crust pizzas are made with 00 Italian flour, filtered water, extra virgen olive oil, sea salt from Sicily and are produced in ovens hand built with lava stone from Mount Vesuvius fueled with burning cherry-wood.   • "Servers are extremely rude and unfriendly! They got my order wrong. They took forever to get us Parmesan cheese, etc. They didn't give us enough olive oil to have with the bread. Service was just AWFUL. 2) We ordered Bruschetta and it was so crisp that we couldn't bite into it! Because the staff was not friendly and very rude, we did not even try to bring this to their attention. I've had better (at Maggiano's!). I ordered penne pasta with pesto, potatoes, mushrooms and pine nuts. It was good but not out of the world. The tiramisu was yum. For the price, the food wasn't worth it. The terrible service made it worse. 3) I thought it was a bit pricey. For 3 appetizers, 7 drinks, 5 entrees and 1 dessert we paid $220 excluding gratuity."

Additionally they brought out the main course without taking away the appetizers plates and I had to é specifically ask the waiter to take them away otherwise they would have stayed!"

  • "I went to Serafina with two colleagues on a Saturday evening. The hostesses ignored me for several minutes before we were seated in a tight fitting area at a table. Our waiter was either very busy with other tables or doesn't like his job very much, his manner was lackluster at best and at one point two glasses of wine we had ordered sat on the bar behind us for about 10 minutes (possibly more) before we had to remind him that we had ordered them. Fortunately, the food was very good, I particularly enjoyed my black truffle ravioli. For the price, there are other restaurants where you can get comparable quality and better service. As it was only one trip, I would recommend the restaurant, with some warning of the service issues."

The pizza crust was awful, and the Prosciutto and Mozzerella appetizer was just slapped onto a plate with some large basil leaves. The open windows/doors on the corner location made it feel like a walk-in place for tourists to stumble upon. I wouldn't go back again and spend over $120 for two people at this restaurant."

  • "We were just at Serafina for Mother's Day lunch. All three lunches ( sctually brunch items and one lunch) were quite good. The brunch items were especially tasty. They make a great bloody mary! When in the area, I would not hesitate to return. "

  • "I had the VIP margarita individual pizza for $17.50; It was good but they weren't the freshest flavors for the price. For that price I compare it to Vetri Pizzeria where you can taste the freshness. There was also some lovely outdoor seating but we were placed inside at a cramped table despite the restaurant being fairly empty. Overall, it was good but not great."

  • "Brunch was a lovely experience. The omelet (made-to-order) was large and full of spinach, mozzarella, and Italian-style sausage: delicious. The side salad was slightly bland, but it made a nice contrast to the omelet. When sour cream and strawberry jam was requested (and not found in the kitchen), the substituted ricotta and strawberries made for a lovely brioche toast topper. (Apparently the "Steak and Fabulous Eggs" were really fabulous!) Overall, Serafina's staff were very accommodating."

I guess if the line is out the door they can get away with it. Probobly would come back for a drink just for the location and outdoor seating."

  • "I was there on Friday night. The food was outstanding. I had the salmon, my mom had the grilled chicken, and my dad had the chicken parm special. We all thought the food tasted very good. It was sort of a chilly night and they had their huge windows all opened up, so basically the whole restaurant was outdoors. Physically, I was freezing and very uncomfortable. The music was also extremely annoying and loud with an obnoxious beat. We were eating at 5:30 pm. They could have saved the techno music for the late night crowd. I would go back, but only on a night when I find the temperature outside comfortable, because apparently the whole thing is basically "outdoors.""

  • "we got our food in 5 minutes. a little too fast to enjoy the time at the restaurant. i felt like their goal was to get us in and out, and you could sense it too. the food was a little overpriced for what they gave you. great portions just overpriced for what it was. food was pretty good, but I've had better italian. probably would only go back if a friend wanted to go. there are better restaurants in philly. we went on a saturday night at 830 and were paid by 920. and we took our time to look at the menu since it was our first time."

  • "We were so excited to visit this popular hot spot, but so disappointed after. Our food was below average, and our server was absolutely terrible. After taking our order he never checked on us, instead going to all the tables around us an blatantly walking by our table to others around us. We didn't receive bread, or any other assistance for that matter. Our bruschetta appetizer was hard as a rock. Overall incredibly disappointed with this dining experience, especially since we had considered going to Parc or Rouge and decided against it. I will definitely not be recommending this restaurant. Again--horrible service!"

  • "I'm always up for 3rd chances but this is the 3rd time I'm disappointed in Serafina's food, from over cooked, dry, steak to soggy pizza, & rubbery bread. Every time we try it, once a year for 3 years, we agree that the food preparation leaves much to be desired, & we are always reminded of how important timing & attention to detail is in the kitchen. The lack of attention is evident & translates into a lack of caring to provide a great experience. Service was a particular factor this last visit, as our waiter was inefficient & made continuous mistakes, ex. serving multiple incorrect drinks, not noticing, & unapologetic. In addition, we felt rushed, as if we were an inconvenience, yet the restaurant was 3/4 empty."
