Our cuisine is Northern Italian, originating from family recipes handed down from generations of cooks and adapted by Vittorio Assaf and his team of professional chefs. Serafina's creative pastas and risottos come to life with the freshest locally grown produce and ingredients, while the delicious desserts and extensive wine list satisfy every craving. Our famous thin crust pizzas are made with 00 Italian flour, filtered water, extra virgen olive oil, sea salt from Sicily and are produced in ovens hand built with lava stone from Mount Vesuvius fueled with burning cherry-wood.   • "I was there on Friday night. The food was outstanding. I had the salmon, my mom had the grilled chicken, and my dad had the chicken parm special. We all thought the food tasted very good. It was sort of a chilly night and they had their huge windows all opened up, so basically the whole restaurant was outdoors. Physically, I was freezing and very uncomfortable. The music was also extremely annoying and loud with an obnoxious beat. We were eating at 5:30 pm. They could have saved the techno music for the late night crowd. I would go back, but only on a night when I find the temperature outside comfortable, because apparently the whole thing is basically "outdoors.""

  • "we got our food in 5 minutes. a little too fast to enjoy the time at the restaurant. i felt like their goal was to get us in and out, and you could sense it too. the food was a little overpriced for what they gave you. great portions just overpriced for what it was. food was pretty good, but I've had better italian. probably would only go back if a friend wanted to go. there are better restaurants in philly. we went on a saturday night at 830 and were paid by 920. and we took our time to look at the menu since it was our first time."

  • "We were so excited to visit this popular hot spot, but so disappointed after. Our food was below average, and our server was absolutely terrible. After taking our order he never checked on us, instead going to all the tables around us an blatantly walking by our table to others around us. We didn't receive bread, or any other assistance for that matter. Our bruschetta appetizer was hard as a rock. Overall incredibly disappointed with this dining experience, especially since we had considered going to Parc or Rouge and decided against it. I will definitely not be recommending this restaurant. Again--horrible service!"

  • "I'm always up for 3rd chances but this is the 3rd time I'm disappointed in Serafina's food, from over cooked, dry, steak to soggy pizza, & rubbery bread. Every time we try it, once a year for 3 years, we agree that the food preparation leaves much to be desired, & we are always reminded of how important timing & attention to detail is in the kitchen. The lack of attention is evident & translates into a lack of caring to provide a great experience. Service was a particular factor this last visit, as our waiter was inefficient & made continuous mistakes, ex. serving multiple incorrect drinks, not noticing, & unapologetic. In addition, we felt rushed, as if we were an inconvenience, yet the restaurant was 3/4 empty."

  • "From the waitress to the food, everything about Serafina is worth it! I got to pick where I wanted to sit, instead of being limited to a certain area. Within seconds, i had lemon water and bread with olive oil on the table. When I ordered a drink, the drink was too strong, so it was modified free of charge!! The Gnocchi with the chicken was so good, and the red gravy was amazing. Even the Parmesan cheese tasted great. i had the Lobster Carpicchio the next day for brunch, which is also amazing. This place is worth every penny!!"

Not huge portions but it will fill you up. House wines are pretty tasty. Overall it was good not amazing. Prosciutto appetizer was something worth returning for."

  • "My girlfriend and were spending a Saturday in the city getting massages and facials. We were hungry and heard about Serafina. We called and they said there were plenty of tables which I thought might not be a good thing. I was wrong. The food was wonderful. I had a warm arugula, shrimp and cannellini bean salad that was to die for. I had a nice glass of French chardonnay with it too. Great brunch and lunch. So glad we went - and the prices were pretty standard. Service was very good. The waitress knew when to leave us alone and when to be there."

  • "I have been meaning to try out Serafina for quite some time. I decided to go there with my family over MLK weekend. Our table was not ready when we arrived for our reservation. We were seated in the back corner but the back door. The waiteress recommended the pasta, but after i questioned told us that only a few of the pasta dishes on the menu were made in house. The pizza was the best thing there. One and done. I will not be back."

The food was delicious and you could easily order the "set" RW menu or off their regular menu. The service was a bit inattentive but I think that was just because we came at a time when the restaurant was not very crowded/busy. I will definitely suggest this place to many of my friends in the future."

  • "This is an ordinary American-Italian restaurant. No surprises on the menu. Still, classics can be done well -- or done carelessly. Deep-fried calamari was not overcooked, so that was good. Accompanied by a bland, uninteresting tomato sauce. The menu listed risotto with porcini. The risotto was nice, but the porcinis had morphed into ordinary button mushrooms. The young woman who identified herself as the assistant manager launched into an incredible explanation about porcini suddenly being expensive -- the menu should be changed to reflect the fact that the mushrooms were a mix of button and porcini. They weren't. It's like describing shrimp as lobster. Porcini probably aren't around, fresh, in January. But dried are."

They offered gluten free pasta for my daughter, which was a hit. Delicious proscuitto parma and the thin pizzas were delicious. Overall a bit pricey, but the location was great and the atmosphere was fun and friendly."
