SequoiaFather's Day BrunchGreat brunch. The food was delicious. We enjoyed the waffles, cheese grits, potatoes, bacon, sausage, chicken, and seafood.
The fruit was fresh and delicious. We will return soon.6/16/2013 12:00:00 AMThee Best Brunch I ever had!Came here for my bday because I heard great things and they definitely surpassed my expectations! Tons of variety of food, great ambience, and the service was impeccable! I'm not sure who my server was because EVERYONE took care of all 15 of us. Also, everyone acknowledged it was my bday which made me feel special. I will definitely be dining here again and I highly recommend this place!6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMexcellent value and very niceexcellent value and very nice selection/brunch options6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMBeautiful setting with fresh,Beautiful setting with fresh, delicious food and accommodating service. Staff very kind to our 6 year old.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellentWe celebrated my birthday at Sequoia's in Georgetown. It was a lovely experience. The service was good the meal excellent! The view was priceless. We took a long walk after diner along the water. Perfect for closing out the evening!'
I highly recommend.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMBest restaurant in GeorgetownWe had a great lunch on Saturday with down-to-earth, friendly service that aims to please. Sequoia is our go-to restaurant when we want to relax and enjoy the best of Washington and it never disappoints. The menu has something for everyone - we had a great raw bar tower with unbelievably fresh little necks and the best ceviche in town. The kids loved the duck dumplings. Lobster, steak and crab cakes were our favorite entrees. The awesome view over the Potomac is just icing on the cake!6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMRaquel our server was excellentRaquel our server was excellent as well as the food, view, etc6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect spot for graduation lunchWe took my daughter here for a graduation celebration and everything was excellent. Sergio, our waiter, was polite, helpful and very friendly, offering to take photos of the whole family. It was a quiet lunch meal--so the service was great, we weren't rushed and the food was very good. Sequoia is maybe a little overpriced for the actual food, but you go for the views and the ambiance, and for that it was perfect. It's in a stunning location and we had a great time, eating at our leisure and overlooking the water. We were very pleased with our experience there.6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMoutdoor dining greatsurprisingly good food for a huge restaurant; service was slow; probably not enough servers on duty for a beautiful Friday evening; size of the restaurant results in a slow kitchen; eating on the deck was truly enjoyable; the number of large groups get most of the attention; individual tables (two and four people) had trouble competing;6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMBeautiful as usualThis place is beautiful for a during the week brunch. Parking is difficult during the day since you're competing with workers who use the same garages. The view is extraordinary and the service of o.k. The food is pretty good, but the view and ambiance makes up for it all!5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMBeautiful inside and outLocation, location, location! With a wall of glass the views to the Potomac are amazing. Even the interior is beautiful. Food very good but pricey. Took out of town guests and they loved it.5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMBest BrunchI took my sister who was visiting from the west coast, to brunch on a beautiful Sunday. Our server, Jason, was friendly and made an effort to give us personalized service. We were seated on the patio and thoroughly enjoyed the view of the Potomac river and the parade of people and boats on a busy holiday weekend. We had bottomless mimosas, and the best buffet ever! My favorites included the raw oysters, smoked salmon with capers and cream cheese, and the gorgeous salads. The dessert selection was amazing with fresh deep fried donuts and fruit tarts. I would not normally choose to dine buffet style but the Sequoia gets my recommendation without question.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMSequoia on A Saturday in MayIt is a great place to go anytime of day but especially at sunset. Thought we didn't sit outside this day the patio is great for that. Food and service were good and lots of families were celebrating graduation.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Scenic SpotI love this place! Great view, good food, good service and great location! I highly recommend it especially for special occasions and nice weather.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMNext best thing to a cruise shipTaking our seats in Sequoia's spacious dining room was tantamount to sitting by a big window on your favorite cruise ship. The Potomac River ambles by with the John F. Kennedy Center down river and lush Theodore Roosevelt Island across below the Rosslyn, VA skyline. The decor is beautiful if understated with an elegant crystaline and blue accent. Huge windows allow for an uninterrupted view of the dining terrace and the river below. The food is better than the view and the service is about what you would expect from a fine restaurant. The bill may be a bit difficult to swallow, but if looking for somewhere to celebrate a special occasion or to impress someone, Sequoia will fill the bill.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMRave reviews for SequoiaFresh seafood...Potomac views...creative menu...loved it!5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMMy graduation dinner at SequioaMy graduation dinner at Sequioa was perfect. Their menu had options for everyone in the family. It had a great wine selection as well. Although the noise level was quite high, we could still hear each other in the table. We also had a perfect view of the pier and the water. Overall, it was a great dining experience.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Atmosphere!Sequoia has been a local favorite of mine for some time. It is a neighborhood gem with a great ambiance and a great view of the Potomac River! Great food, great for groups!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food, service, ambienceI dined here with my husband and his family for his grad school graduation. The restaurant is by the water, so, needless to say, the view is great and can be very romantic at night. The restaurant is supposed to feel like a cruise ship, but the restaurant is a very large space and therefore seats many, many people. During a busy night or weekend, it gets very loud. With that said, though, my husband's nearly-90 year old grandmother was fine with it and enjoyed the dinner time. I thought that the service would be slow because of how large the restaurant is, and because of how busy it was that night. The initial bread took a little while to come out, but everything after that, appetizers, salads, entrees, they all came out perfectly.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat view - food & service???Great view but average food and service. This used to be a nice upscale dining experience but sadly no longer.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful place for a celebration! The service was friendly and prompt, food lovely and view of the DC waterfront beautiful!
Perfect place for our large family crowd to celebrate graduation!5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMPost Grad Graduation DinnerOur celebratory dinner for our daughter at Sequoia a very nice experience. We wanted to relax and enjoy the occasion, but even with that in mind the service was somewhat slow. The young waitress looked terrified, but her etiquette and decorum was spot on, so I cannot rate her too negativity. The other staff were efficient and as polite as they could be.
The enormous dining room overlooks the water, and the ambiance is upscale. All in our party of six found the food quite good. Our selections were all different, and all agreed they were impressed with the freshness, preparation, presentation, and flavors of their meals, and would happily return to further investigate the extensive menu.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding ambience, except...While dining on the patio, there was a couple at the table next to us having an overly explicit make-out fest. We alerted management that the couple's behavior was making us uncomfortable. The manager replied that as this was a public place, there was nothing they could do. I would disagree that a restaurant is a public place and thereby management is unable to control the actions of customers. If I wanted to watch two people grope each other while playing tonsil hockey, I certainly wouldn't do it over $10 cocktails.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, service not so greatfood is amazing. fresh fish and dishes come out quick. but they got our order wrong and took forever to bring us a diet coke, and the dessert menu, and the check. shame because there were only a few tables seated so didn't make much sense. food is excellent though5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent BrunchThere were so many options and the food was delicious.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMSequoia is always nice. ForSequoia is always nice. For mothers day w were seated in the bubble away from the near bedlam in the main dining room. I am not a fan of buffets but on this day there aren't many options. The food was really well done and the servi ce we received was great especially for a buffet seating.
I always like this restaurant. Not the most expensive or the hottest place in town. But always good with great service. Thank you I had a most enjoyable feast.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMPure PerfectDespite the large attendance, after all it was Mothers Day, the atmosphere provided "private dining." It was obvious that our menu selections were given individual attention. And the drink selections were unique and intriguing. My choice, top-shelf coconut Marquita. Yum. Only to be topped with a scenic view of the Potomac. You simply Must go!!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMy fave brunch spotI love this place so much. Brunch is always consistent and awesome. Awesome food quality and superb customer service.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMThe best brunch ever!My family and I went here for brunch and we loved it! The buffet offered a great variety of food, from breakfast to seafood! Dessert table was phenomenal too! Bottomless mimosa and the waiter was great at refilling them without notice! Nothing bad to say about my experience, and will definitely return for brunch again.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place!Great, professional and very friendly servers. Very tasty food and breath taking view.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMust tryFANTASTIC from our hostess to the final wiping of our hands, this was a terrific experience.
We were in DC for the weekend (Mother's Day) and couldn't have picked a worse time for a dining experience.
Not an issue here. Our hostess (who had been on since 8:30 AM) was friendly and joking with the patrons. She even sat us early.
Our waiter was perfect (he had been there since 7:30). Our reservation was for 7PM.
The service was attentive. The food was perfect. The atmosphere was energetic. The view was beautiful. Perfect experience.
Must try. Plus parking was free in Georgetown on Sunday. Woot Woot!!!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMI like the fact that theyI like the fact that they could accomodate a large party on a major holiday.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat AmbianceWe live in VA and do not frequent many restaurants in DC, but I took my husband here for his grad school graduation. When we arrived we were seated in an obstructed area and without asking a manager came by and moved us to a better location. We had three courses and the food was superb. Our waiter was timely, made good recommendations on a few items we had questions about and he had a great personality. All in all, we will definitely return.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect Mother's Day BrunchWe had a wonderful "Mother's Day". The atmosphere was great, the seating preference was honored, the food was fantastic, and the waiters were most gracious! It was a perfect dining experience!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day to the 3rd power. All I can say is I'm glad I made a reservation. This place was extremely packed and it looked like a lot of people were waiting for a long time. Which is odd, because we took the upstairs seating and it was pretty empty and less noisy. Overall the service was good my only complaint would be the buffet food was cold. I went to the carving station and my turkey was cold also my eggs where cold. There were long lines to get into the buffet. I would recommend table direction to prevent people from standing in long lines to get food only to get back to their table and their food is cold.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's DayMother's Day brunch was wonderful. The staff was very attentive and the food was great. The face painter and caricature artist were a great surprise and kept the kids occupied. The best brunch I've been to anywhere in a very long time.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for occasions!I came to eat here with a group of 11 family members recently to celebrate my graduation. Large groups are always difficult-- either the service is slow, or someone ends up unhappy with their food. Neither of these were the case, thankfully! Our waiter was very personable, but not invasive, and the food was really delicious! It was unfortunately raining the night we came, but regardless, the view was beautiful. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to large groups!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMgoodWent for graduation dinner and had an amazing time. Beautiful view.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMOurs was an office staff luncheon.Ours was an office staff luncheon. We were the only customers in the restaurant at that time. Therefore, the only noise was ours. It was an enjoyable restaurant experience.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMOverall a great experienceExcellent Brunch! The mimosas kept flowing and the staff was wonderful. The seating outside provided an amazing view. Overall, this is definitely a great place to go for Sunday brunch!5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMThe service was outstanding!I took my mom out to dinner with my daughter as a special occasion. Our server took great care of us he was attentive and extra attentive to my daughter. He made great recommendations and we were very satisfied.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMA Quiet Rainy Monday LunchRestaurant was relatively empty for lunch, but even with rain the view of the Potomac from a window table was beautiful. The young man who was our server was the perfect balance of attentive but not intrusive. The food was actually far better than I anticipated and there was an excellent selection from the raw bar.
I would definitely go back again.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome Brunch and worth the price!Truly awesome brunch, and reasonably priced...particularly since the champagne/mimosas are included (and apparently unlimited). I belong to a city club and a country club which serve brunch, but Sequoia is where I now will go for Sunday Brunch!4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMSequoia was really nice. ISequoia was really nice. I had a blast. However the service was a lit long but I guess it was due to the wedding.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food, generous portions,Excellent food, generous portions, attentive service, reasonbly priced for a high quality dining experience.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMVery PleasedThe food was excellent and the service was impeccable.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMIt is a very good restaurant! It is a very good restaurant! It was a little noise because it was lunch on a weekday but otherwise it was fine. The food was very good. Excellent view and very friendly service.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat day at Sequoia. We had friends in town from the deep south, who have some knowledge of "dining". We had a great brunch and spent a couple of hours enjoying the fellowship and great views.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect place to celebrate!Service For the Sunday buffet brunch was fabulous.
