We came here for a birthday party and were pleasantly surprised by how great everything was - the food was excellent and everyone enjoyed their meal, we had a terrific view of the Bay Bridge light show, and the ambience was happening! They accommodated out group of 8 just perfectly. Our waitress forgot to put a candle in one of the desserts for our friend and then a few minutes later they brought out cheesecake with a candle for her! Great customer service!

Conveniently located in Embarcadero Center. Our table had a great view of the Bay Bridge & Ferry Building. Our dinners were well prepared. Our table shared the Grilled Octopus and the Pork Belly starters. 2 people from our party had the Scallops entree, my husband had the swordfish & I had the grilled whole Branzino. All fishes were flavorful. The Branzino is served whole but deboned. For dessert we split the bread pudding & a chocolate cannoli. It was a Friday night and the bar & outdoor patio area were quite crowded. The restaurant was quieter but still had plenty of customers.

This is now the 3rd or 4th time I have been to Sens over the same time period. Each time it seems to get worse. Wed. was it! Our poor waitress did her best, but the place was packed with lots of big parties. It took forever to get our drinks and food. 2 of the 3 entrees were cold upon arrival to the table. Our waitress was very sweet and comped us 2 deserts but it was already past 9 by then and I had to leave so could not take a bite. Needless to say, I do not plan to go back despite it's convenience and location.

I brought my boyfriend here for his birthday, and we were blown away by not only the food but also the service. Javier was our server and he did a fantastic job, and even delivered a special dessert to our table and helped me sing happy birthday. They really came together to make our dinner memorable. And the food is still delicious the next day as leftovers!

This restaurant is right across the ferry terminal. They have a very vibrant bar scene and food is amazing. We ordered the flat bread( aka like a mushroom pizza is a great hit with kids), lamb sliders, chicken meat balls for appetizers, lamb and fish for main course. Everything tasted really good.

We have been to Sens before and we liked it so much that we decided to come back the day of our wedding. After almost 20 years of being together we decided to get married again. It was a wedding in the court in Oakland and only the two of us were present. We celebrated at Sens and then walked from the restaurant for several blocks to enjoy the view. Great service and excellent food just made our special day unique and special and we will remember this night for 20 other years when we hope to be back to celebrate once again...

Sens offers something unique in terms of French-inspired restaurants in America - the ambience of Marseilles - a mix of the food of the Pays d'Oc and the more exotic elements of the Maghreb. Whether you like more traditional French Mediterranean cuisine or high quality Moroccan/ Algerian dishes such as Harissa, falafel, babaghanoush and the like, there is much to like here. The outside terrace is a treat on a sunny day and the bar is good as the week draws to a close.

Sens, without a doubt, is the best happy hour spot in the city. Located on the top floor of Embarcadero 4, the combination of an indoor and outdoor patio, with an amazing view of the Ferry Building and the Bay Bridge, makes this restaurant the ultimate destination for after work drinking and socializing. Plus, with great happy hour drink prices and less pretentious bartenders than other bars makes Sens a definite go-to spot. Dinner here is an amazing dining treat. With a huge wine list, exotic mouth watering appetizers and quite inventive and wonderful entrees, you will not be disappointed. Knowledgeable and attentive service only adds to the experience. Eat here and eat here often!

Staff and wait staff very nice and gave us a window table as requested. Even moved it around so we could max out the view. The food was imaginative, using excellent ingredients. I found my Day Boat Scallops somewhat overwhelmed by the pancetta's salty taste, but my dining companions had no complaints. Our waiter gave us a complimentary birthday dessert, the Creme Fraiche Cheesecake - fantastic. We also shared an Strawberry Almond Cake dessert - fantastic. Overall, I would certainly return - the view of the Bay Bridge lights is magnificent.

My older sister, an attorney visiting from Philadelphia, joined me on Monday for lunch at Sens and was taken with the eclectic menu, the fresh, original recipes, and the panoramic view. Having spent two of her early years at a convent in Monaco, the French theme enchanted her. A highly attentive waiter was a nice finish to an excellent experience.

Sens menu was fairly small and did not fit well for the picky dinners in our group. The starters were okay- nothing special but the short ribs were amazing. Our service was very lacking... And the restaurant was empty. This did not make sense to me. Drinks took forever and were often empty. The view is nice but this is not somewhere I'd dine again, there are too many great restaurants in the city to give Sens another try.

What a great experience in every aspect. Devin, our waiter, was amazing. We asked him for his opinion on many of the dishes and he made some the best recommendations, including pairing the wine. For starters, the poached turkish apricots were very light and delicious (and won an award), but the lamb tartar was so incredibly fresh, it literally melted in your mouth. Next, we had the "fattoush" salad - definitely try it! It was so simple, yet tasted like it just came out of the garden. Devin even shared the recipe with us, with a little secret ingredient of tumeric. Who knew! At this point, my husband and I were getting full, so we shared the spare ribs. They melted off of the bone and into your mouth. Wow! Delicious! Thank you!

Since so many of SF's view restaurants have closed down (top of the Hilton, top of the BofA building, etc.), it's hard to find a place to take out of towners who want to enjoy some of the most scenic views in America. Sens to the rescue!! Overlooking the Embarcadero and the Bay Bridge, go for the view, but stay for the delicious food and the unique drinks. If you just want to go for cocktails, be sure to have some of the crispy stuffed olives to go with your drinks. The olives are stuffed with a meat mixture with Mediterranean spices and then breaded and deep fried. They are served with toasted almonds and a slightly sweet dipping sauce--fabulous!! The atmosphere here is very nice and on a warm day, you can have your drinks outside.

When we arrived for our reservation, there was nobody to greet us. After a few minutes of patiently waiting, we were left wondering if it was a "seat yourself environment". As a server passed by, I flagged her down to ask how we should go about being seated. Her response " Drinks?". I let her know we would like to eat as well, to which she replied " So drinks and apps". I let her know we had a reservation, and that we would like to be seated to enjoy a proper dinner. The Crab Tortellini was wonderful. I think the kitchen might be carrying the team in this restaurant. A very nice manager type greeted us on the way out (seated), but it would have been nice to start off on that foot.
