Appetizers, Entree's, decent bottle of wine for $160(for 2)out the door. The staff noted that we are returning patrons from last year and supplied a beautiful, scrumpious, and "FREE" cake with Happy Anniversary spelled out on the cake plate. You must try the Seafood Paella. the Paella is to die for, as is the Malbec braised short ribs on couscous. Can't wait to get back there for our next anniversary dinner.

I reserved a table after searching the internet for restaurants near the opera house. What a find! I'd recommend Selva to anyone who wants excellent food presented very well and imaginatively. We sat at a table near the open end of the restaurant - next to the sidewalk. The whole experience was wonderful. The opera wasn't bad, either.

My only criticism was the music -- the rock and roll music really didn't fit the dining crowd (mostly people eating before attending the Opera). I hope management changes that one item, to truly make it a perfect experience. Either way we will be back.
Tip to restaurant managements all over the world: pay attention to the music you're playing! WAY too often it's too loud (not in this case) and alienating to some audiences. We drive for an hour each way just to have dinner here. We are looking for a new house right now and I'm not gonna lie - it did cross mind moving to Sarasota just because we'd be able to have dinner at Selva Grill more often. The ceviche was amazing and the tapas we tried was good too. The entrees were decient but not amazing. The lomo saltado was good but missing something. The seabass was slightly over cooked, but all the sides/sauces that came with it were great. The place is expensive so be prepared. There was plenty of room between tables which always seems to be a problem but not here. Even though the price seemed a little steep (for the average couple), the quality and quantity of the food was great! The waitress was very outgoing and friendly and the manager came by and made sure our food was cooked the way we liked it. If you like ceviche, this is the place. I had the "wild catch" (allegedly corvina, found on the west coast of South America, but there are 270 species in the family, including drum and croaker, found locally, so who knows: in any case, delicious). Also had the tuna tartare: also delicious. My wife had the beef ceviche (who knew?) and the crab spring roll: real crab and very tasty. And we lucked into the Tuesday night "half price" wine program, so enjoyed a nice bottle of Tim Crawford New Zealand sauvignon blanc. If Selva wasn't $500 in airfare away from where I live in Maine, I'd be a regular. Enjoy! Lots of interesting meat dishes, plus a few fish selections. The whole fried snapper was outstanding. Try the grilled cusco corn. Some good wines at moderate prices.
