Water glasses were refilled without asking and plates were removed at the appropriate time. We've now introduced a few of our friends and they all have thoroughly enjoyed their meals and will be going back as well. Whenever we have guests in town we make sure they get to experience Seed since it's one of our favorite local restaurants. We love that the items we love are always on the menu but there are new options every time we go as well with their specials. With a very talented chef and great servers, Seed never disappoints. The food is excellent and the seasonings and portions are just right. Don't let the fact that it is located in a strip mall fool you -- Seed is a real, high-quality restaurant. Be sure to try their Sangria. Their specials are always pretty interesting, though we tend to order our favorites off the menu.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMLocal FavoriteMy wife and I have been to Seed twice now and can reasonable conclude that it is amoungst the best restaurants in Metro Atlanta. This restaurant takes the whole restaurant experience to a whole new level. I know it is a cliche, but I cannot say enough about this way Seed performs as a restaurant. There is something to be said when they take extra pride in their cocktails, which are absolutely amazing. (and I'm a beer kinda guy) The portions are the right size and delicious. No dressing up the plate nonsense you get from other ritzy restaurants. The price matches the amount of food. The flavors are excellent. We had the skillet cookie which was also delicious. You would think that would be a slow night, but they moving right a long. The food is amazing,,,,,fresh and beautifully prepared. I wish I could remember our waiters name, he was fantastic. My husband had the excellent special of filet mignon, very tender and flavorful. I had the scallops which were prepared exactly correctly. The salad special was mixed greens with strawberries, almonds and goat cheese with a wonderful balsamic dressing. Delicious! The wines are a little expensive but a bottle of white bordeaux was just right for us. We went for our anniversary and Mother's Day, a time when we expected the place to be packed and perhaps not up to par. That's so often the case on holidays at other places. Not at all here. The food was spectacular, the service was just as friendly and wonderful as ever. I normally order wine there because the wine list is splendid, but opted to try their special white wine sangria. It was delicious and perfect for the brunch menu. We had a reservation and were sat quickly. Our server was attentive and knowledgable. There was a 3 course price fix brunch. The initial course took a bit long to come out, but the remaining courses came out timely. There were a few mistakes (bacon instead of sausage), but they were corrected quickly. My only disappointment was dessert. I ordered the ice cream sandwich. The ice cream was very melted so it was very difficult to eat. Half of the ice cream was too melted to eat. I did not mention it to the server as I was pretty full at that point and we needed to go. We had always had the point to make it out to the restaurant before all the buzz and we now understand what the buzz is all about! The ambiance was wonderful and more Buckhead than Marietta. Our waiter, Keith, was there to make sure our first experience left a mark and it did- in a good way. There were so many dishes we wanted to try out, but of course, we had to settle on one. We usually don't go through the gambit of courses but we made sure to have an app, entree, two drinks AND dessert that night. I called the restaurant in advance and they reserved the table by the "viewing" kitchen. They had the daily menu printed with their name at the top with birthday wishes. The waiter was excellent. The restaurant provided 2 complimentary deserts with much fanfare (but no singing). And it did not cost an arm and a leg! It was nice to find a great restaurant OTP. And, these finicky foodies were not disappointed. Everything about Seed is wonderful including the value provided and we often forget that but my British friends reminded me of it. I could have the sea scallops every day and not be tired of them.

Two of us had lunch items and two of us had brunch items. Everything was very tasty. The mahi-mahi I had came with a sauce that was more spicy than I cared for so I was glad I asked for it to be "on the side." Grits fritters and corn bread were excellent. Our server was prompt and attentive, she recognized the challenges of an energetic baby and the service provided was outstanding. My daughter was able to sample new wine selections and loved the array of choices. The tuna taco appetizer was so good that we ordered a second one before her main course of bacon wrapped meatloaf arrived. There were two portions of meatloaf - enough for a take home box and the potatoes and vegetables were very complementary. I loved the halibut special with rice and soy-ginger drizzle. As soon as we walked in and told them the name of our reservation, the hostess smiled and wished us a Happy Anniversary! That was very nice of her. Our server was very attentive, knowledgable, professional, friendly and helpful. I got the Merchant Burger with fries and my wife got a salad. It was probably one of the best burgers I have ever had. My wife really enjoyed her salad also.
