The food is amazing,,,,,fresh and beautifully prepared. I wish I could remember our waiters name, he was fantastic. Very knowledgeable about the cocktails, wine and the menu. I live in town, but would make the drive again. My husband had the excellent special of filet mignon, very tender and flavorful. I had the scallops which were prepared exactly correctly. The salad special was mixed greens with strawberries, almonds and goat cheese with a wonderful balsamic dressing. Delicious! The wines are a little expensive but a bottle of white bordeaux was just right for us. We went for our anniversary and Mother's Day, a time when we expected the place to be packed and perhaps not up to par. That's so often the case on holidays at other places. Not at all here. The food was spectacular, the service was just as friendly and wonderful as ever. I normally order wine there because the wine list is splendid, but opted to try their special white wine sangria. It was delicious and perfect for the brunch menu. We had a reservation and were sat quickly. Our server was attentive and knowledgable. There was a 3 course price fix brunch. The initial course took a bit long to come out, but the remaining courses came out timely. There were a few mistakes (bacon instead of sausage), but they were corrected quickly. My only disappointment was dessert. I ordered the ice cream sandwich. The ice cream was very melted so it was very difficult to eat. Half of the ice cream was too melted to eat. I did not mention it to the server as I was pretty full at that point and we needed to go. We had always had the point to make it out to the restaurant before all the buzz and we now understand what the buzz is all about! The ambiance was wonderful and more Buckhead than Marietta. Our waiter, Keith, was there to make sure our first experience left a mark and it did- in a good way. There were so many dishes we wanted to try out, but of course, we had to settle on one. We usually don't go through the gambit of courses but we made sure to have an app, entree, two drinks AND dessert that night. I called the restaurant in advance and they reserved the table by the "viewing" kitchen. They had the daily menu printed with their name at the top with birthday wishes. The waiter was excellent. The restaurant provided 2 complimentary deserts with much fanfare (but no singing). And it did not cost an arm and a leg! It was nice to find a great restaurant OTP. Appreciated not having to go to midtown or buckhead to get a good meal.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is My Favorite Restaurant!When some foodie friends from London asked me where we should go for our farewell dinner, there was no other choice. And, these finicky foodies were not disappointed. Everything about Seed is wonderful including the value provided and we often forget that but my British friends reminded me of it. I could have the sea scallops every day and not be tired of them.

Two of us had lunch items and two of us had brunch items. Everything was very tasty. The mahi-mahi I had came with a sauce that was more spicy than I cared for so I was glad I asked for it to be "on the side." Grits fritters and corn bread were excellent. The pimento cheese crostini appetizer was wonderful. Loved my mahi-mahi, and was just the right size so when we split a couple of deserts, I completely enjoyed my bites. My husband, a foodie, said it was the best meal he's had in a long time and we'll be back.

Our server was prompt and attentive, she recognized the challenges of an energetic baby and the service provided was outstanding. My daughter was able to sample new wine selections and loved the array of choices. The tuna taco appetizer was so good that we ordered a second one before her main course of bacon wrapped meatloaf arrived. There were two portions of meatloaf - enough for a take home box and the potatoes and vegetables were very complementary. I loved the halibut special with rice and soy-ginger drizzle. The vintage cocktails won't let you down, especially the Hemingway Daiquiri. We were blown away by the mussels ... so big and juicy that our dinner guests ordered them after seeing ours! I have a hard time going anywhere else. The food is great and the service is really great. Finally a top notch place close by. The service is very professional, which is hard to find around here, but, also friendly and helpful. The restaurant is so well run. And, the wine list is crazy good, but, not crazy expensive. There are great values for wines that cannot be found anywhere else. We visited on our 9th wedding anniversary and they were great about making it special. As soon as we walked in and told them the name of our reservation, the hostess smiled and wished us a Happy Anniversary! That was very nice of her. She pulled two special menus for us, which after being seated, read at the top, "Happy 9th Anniversary Mr. & Mrs. Silvey! What a great special touch!
Our server was very attentive, knowledgable, professional, friendly and helpful. I got the Merchant Burger with fries and my wife got a salad. It was probably one of the best burgers I have ever had. My wife really enjoyed her salad also.

The crusted grouper is so wonderful that my wife has difficulty ordering anything else, although she does sample mine also. Their flash frying technique yields wonderfully crisp fat-less delicacies like the calamari with crisp bay leaves. We made an early (5:00) reservation for our most recent visit because we were attending a 6:30 movie. Upon arrival they were still conducting the servers meeting and we were the first diners to be seated. Wondered whether there would be an effect in service or food preparation.
