  • "It's always a treat to have dinner here. The service is great, and we love the four-course arrangement, rather than having a standard menu. The French Onion Soup is delicious, entrees were very good, peanut butter pie always yummy! Disappointed to learn the beef is not locally sourced, but from the Midwest, which was a surprise since this restaurant grows much of their own food. Will certainly be back!"

  • "There were only 2 couples in the entire place. The food was fantastic.! The only part that I wish had been different was the room we were seated in, it was least "ambient" room in the restaurant., I was confused by why they would put us in this space since the rest of the restaurant was totally empty. They sat the only other couple dining at the time there as well. Maybe they did it for convenience for the server, who was wonderful by the way."

  • "This was our 2nd time at the Inn and were very disappointed when compared with our first visit last month. We were never asked how we wanted our steaks cooked. They came to the table grossly under-cooked but because we had already been there for 1 1/2 hours we decided to accept them as is. Although I expected some fat with ribeye steaks, mine was only 1/2 meat by the time I got the fat trimmed off as was my daughters. Everything else was delicious. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her meal. They are in desperate need of new steak knives. The ones we had were very dull. I like their concept of the menu changing weekly, one-price all-inclusive, and it is a nice place but we aren't in a hurry to go back after this last experience."

  • "Literally it was a cool experience. It was cold outside, and a little too cool inside. The meal was really really good, the wait staff was excellent. My only complaint really was I had a lot more fat on my steak then I think I should have had. I understand fat equals great taste but there was too much. It won't dissuade me from returning. Love this place....."

  • "Thank You for the complimentary champagne and home-made card for our 42nd wedding anniversary. Your extra effort helped make it a nicer occasion. Our waitress was exceptional and the food was great--as usual !! I normally like to have a drink before my meal and chose a double bloody-mary. The drink was good but the price was unacceptable. ($15.00??) From now on I will probably only drink water."

  • "I get the chance to go about once per year (always wish it was more often) ! I love the food, the homey yet vintage ambiance, and reasonable price considering how much food u get. I love that they dont have menus. The server comes and enthusiastically describes the entrees. I really have nothing negative to say except that our server spoke VERY fast. She was great/friendly besides that though. It's a MUST TRY!!!!"

  • "We went for Valentines Day and our reservation was for 8pm . We arrived at 7:40pm and ordered a drink . It seemed like the staff was trying to do many services and it showed . It took nearly 45 minutes for us to get our first course . Once the food arrived , it was great but the service just took from the night . We ordered a drink after our salad however it did not come until our dessert . Even our main course had an issue , as the side vegetables were not served until we were nearly done . The wait for our check was about 20 minutes , just another example of the service being off . We usually love going there but tonight really was not our best experience . The waitress was pleasant and the food good ."

  • "The 5:00 seating was great. Nice and quiet. If you want a quiet seating make sure there are no large groups booked for your same seating time . We had a very poor experience at a 6:00 seating with a large group on the second floor. Could not have a conversation. Manager not apologetic and was not able to rectify the situation. Still love the food and the service of our waitress."

  • "The Sedgley Place is a diamond in a coal mine. The atmosphere is perfect, the food is beyond excellent, and the service is unequaled. The five course meal is as much as anyone could eat in one sitting. The price is equal to the quality of the experience. We found it accidentally when we were out on a motorcycle ride. When we went in they asked for the name on the reservation. When I responded that we didn't know that reservations were required, the hostess said, "Oh that's fine, we never turn anyone away." We have been back only once since. It is our intention to make this a once a year destination, so it doesn't become mundane."

  • "First-Service was fantastic. Second, Some food was outstanding, some was not. Appetizer (Seafood cake) was good but dry and slightly overdone. Bread was fantastic. Salads were basic but nice fresh veggies. Entree #1 -Beef Tenderloin with glaze -meat was excellent but the glaze was over-whelming and really took away from the plate. Entree #2 -Seafood Casserole, Scallops where good, Haddock was good, Lobster was previously frozen or over cooked (tough), and the sauce had too much cream. I love butter and seafood, but the cream sauce took away from the dish. Ambience was a very dated. 1980's wall paper and stained clam shell trim. Carpet. Miss matched silverware. They got the right idea, but miss it in the fine details."

  • "It took a while before we were seated and the seating process was not organized. The waitress was asked if they had a written menu since because of the noise level it was difficult to hear her. The restaurant does not provide one. She hurried us thru the selections and our drinks order was served after the appetizers. We were never asked if we wanted coffee. We have never been to a restaurant were the dessert selection had to be made at the same time ordering the entrees. It was a very rushed affair."

  • "The birhtday boy ordered filet migon and he ordered it medium and it was rare, he didn't send back because everyone else was eating and and didn't want to wait for filet to come back. The wait staff was very friendly and made his birthday special with candle on his dessert and a birthday song! When it came to dessert I was gull so I ordered the raspberry tart to go but when I got home later much to my disappointment the tart was just the puff pastry, I have always ordered this dessert and never have just been given just the pastry...... I'm not sure what happened but I will check my dessert before leaving the next time"

  • "When we visited Sedgley Place we were the only diners. One other couple had been expected but cancelled. Being the only diners the place could not have been more intimate or quiet. Also, since we were the only diners the service could not have been better The waitress, Chelsea, was excellent and made the Day-After-the Birthday celebration very special. We go for the organic and very special recipes and as in the past we were not disappointed. It was an excellent opportunity for my wife to have the lobster and shellfish dishes that she loves and that I am allergic to."

  • "Food and service were great. Handicap parking very limited and stairs to second floor steep. With two large parties on the second floor it was noisy. On our second visit we requested first floor for eating (parking still a problem at 5PM for handicap) and it was great. Doors between rooms were closed and it really cut down the noise level. Waitresses were great. Three birthdays in one room led to 3 very happy and extremely off key "Happy birthdays" singing. Great that the waitress and guests all participated. We will be back and keeping it for special occasions."
